Nice, but what do you do when your windows 7 doesn't even recognise the Xbox1 controller? My PC is just seeing it as a generic 'unspecified' controller. Also the controller is not showing up under the (seperate) Game Controllers section. So I can't get the computer to go ferret out a driver for a controller which it is not recognising. Any help from anyone on this??

I got the controller to work with ePSXe, a PS1 emulator.
i opened the folder where i downloaded and run the application witch i downoaded from an another website becasue "404" error code at microsoft's page So i opened an ran it and it said not found hardware pls help me i am stugleing with this for abaut an houre now
im using a 3rd party controller and it worked for windows 10 but i reverted back to 7 and the same controller on same pc now does not install at all. and microstoft support doesn't help at all
nice tutorial but microsoft stupidly disabled these drivers and replaced them with 4 downloadable folders that do nothing. in the process of trying to ask microsoft for help on this. they temporarily banned my xbox account. I would contact customer support but they are closed right now and their chat line only allows you to contact them when you are signed into you microsoft account. this video looked very promising but it is outdated now due to microsofts stupid decisions. thanks anyways

It will not work because the downloads are unavailable after typing the exact link that he used. downloading straight from the website will now only supply drivers for Windows 10 users. It works anyways without these drivers on steam. I need to find a program like xpadder that is compatible with Windows 7 so I could manually map the keys of any 1 of the controller's I own. It's more fun that way
Nox Cigar I personally don't like trusting random links to websites that carry the drivers. I could do without if it means keeping my computer safe from attacks. It's not that serious

Pugged it and it vibrated, also gave a light (if your controller doesnt it might be broken) 2. official MS page says good luck with the updater. I still look for the manual download since that’s how I like my shit. Ended up download the xb1usb.11059.0.140526x64 file. Checkec it with malwarebytes and it was ready to go. 3, It didn’t work so I come to this video of mr. Christian Gimelli and follow the reddit thread that said the following options: 1. Do a windows update 2. Donwload the following: a. User-Mode Driver Framework version 1.11 update for Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2 b. Kernel-Mode Driver Framework version 1.11 update for Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2 But now in 2020 theres no direct MS support for those links so I looked them on windows updater and it worked, didn’t need the whole update pack, just those two. Hope this can be usefull to someone.
