I got 1000 Subscribers, 4000 Watch Hours but I can't Monetize

- I finally got over 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours, but I can't monetize because AdSense thinks that I already have an account and does not allow me to add RUclips on top of it.
This is so frustrating because I can't contact AdSense or RUclips.
My AdSense account is glitched due to it being associated to AdMob and there isn't any support I can get.
So now, because my AdSense account is linked to AdMob, therefore, when I apply for that account to be linked to RUclips, I get denied.
This is a flaw in AdSense's review system because AdSense is meant to link both AdMob and RUclips to the same AdSense account, yet, it cannot tell that AdMob and RUclips is 2 separate entities.
Oh, the frustration!

I feel like RUclips specifically targeted me with this one for a few reasons...
1. I have an an existing AdSense account on a different channel
2. I need about 500 more hours of watch time before I can monetize.
3. I love Mario and you have all those cool items in the background!

Im stuck on watch hours... im not sure if youtube will ever let my channel to be monetized. Some of my videos are against their policy. im afraid they will remove some of my videos or suspend my channel for being monetized. Not knowing is killing me.

Artificial intelligence may take over the world but the human touch is so irreplaceable. There will always be a market for personal service. Don't give up creating. The vacuum that RUclips has created will be filled and you will get validation.

Anytime i have an issue that needs addressing fast, I turn to twitter because companies will usually respond pretty quickly & frequently have DMs open. I did see that this is an old video and you did finally get monetized 🥳 I just need to catch up to see how it was resolved. 😉

How frustrating! I met the monetization requirements during the start of the pandemic. Every time I applied for adsense I would get a message that they had limited staff due to covid. During that time I actually saw other channels got monetized and be accepted so I was super frustrated! That's when someone told me that I shouldn't expect to make much from adsense anyway, and I started creating my own digital products that I promote on my channel. Finally about 9 months after reaching the requirements, my application went through. I still don't make much (now it's like $60/mo) so I'm glad I still have my digital products to make money from. Definitely recommend doing something similar. You could totally create a course for small RUclipsrs or something! Hope that helps.

Most of the RUclipsrs making serious coin aren't actually making it through RUclips. They largely earn that through royalties, sponsorship, special promotions e.g. a boxing match, collaborations with other people, or selling something else that their RUclips channel has helped them promote.
Endorsements are crazy. It also depends on where they come from though. Most channels from the US tend to get them quite easily, even if their channel is relatively small.
Yeah they sell merch and are sponsored.
Man, that sucked.... that whole process seemed like a nightmare!! This is exactly why I have no plans of monetizing my channel!! I just want to keep making videos and try and get better at them, I think I'm good on that process!! Btw, I see that you are/did get monetized!! Congratulations..... I will still make monetization as part of my plan if I were you BUT I wouldn't make that a top priority. As you said, focusing on the process of making good videos and get better is more important. I see monetization as a reward for figuring things out along the way :)

I do the same thing with my other RUclips channel I have plenty of subscribers I could monetize but I choose not to.... this is my guinea pig RUclips channel I watch anything I want and subscribe to others with this channel but I won't subscribe with my other channel to nobody it's strictly to post videos

You can prepare early by making sure you have not signed up to AdSense more than once in any other account. Best to check!

Oof that is very frustrating. I've also had something similar, but with one of the biggest esports gaming company. They refuse to let a human help people, they apply bots to do the work while they are getting paid for it. Customer support are the worst with big companies. Ultra frustrating! Well, I hope you can get this situation sorted out quickly 🙏.

They do that so you can keep making videos.. They know if watch hours hold, most ppl will lay back and get lazy

Not only do you have to wait, you have to agree to each individual way to get paid after waiting for adsense and then waiting to turn on each method, AND then waiting to get each video monitized. And any that have any claim of any kind wont get monitized

RUclips has changed their monetization plan. You can join when you hit 500 subs and I think 2k watch hours or something. You still can't play ads on your videos though but at least you can verify if adsense works for you much earlier.

Can someone? I have 17k subs and more than 4k watch hours for shorts, but when I go to earn, it doesn't show me option to get started.
Shorts watch hours don’t count. You need 10 million views from shorts I think
You have to continue making videos because this had happened to me and I thought I was the only one going through this thinking I just always have the worst of luck and fell into a depression thinking I just wasn’t smart enough to figure it out. I am more consistent now, but my channels suffered a lot. I have over 10 of them and at least nine of them have the same problem you’re having. Hey, this is a year old video now. It is resolved. The problem comes from AdSense, not RUclips. AdSense has an issue linking different platforms to it. I had mine linked to AdMob and AdSense wouldn't let me link RUclips to it. However, AdSense claims it is not an issue but that's about it, they never did help me resolve it or look into it. I am not sure what happens if you try to link multiple RUclips channel to 1 AdSense account though but it sounds like it is also an issue.

This video has been recommended for a few weeks now, I wasn’t gonna watch it based on the title and thumbnail… just assumed it wouldn’t apply to me. Finally got bored and clicked it.. and it turns out it does apply to me. I’m starting a new channel (different than this username) and I too have an old Adsense account laying around… maybe RUclips is trying to nudge me in the right direction? @@KevinChee a few weeks ago I was watching a lot of beginner RUclips videos (not necessarily about monetizing as I never specifically sought out that info), and I still watch recommended ones when they seem relevant.
AdSense doesn't have good support, I had an issue when I started using it in 2019 and that was when I saw that it was very difficult to talk to anyone from AdSense. And yes, the forum button is very annoying cause sometimes no one responds, but if they do it's just advice, not solutions. According to what I've read, only people making a lot of AdSense money have special customer support.
Try getting a family member to open an AdSense account with their ID, then you just connect it to your RUclips.
Yeah, for some reason Google knows all of my gmail account in the same household. Just weird that it keeps saying I'm trying to apply for Admob when I'm really applying for RUclips!
@@KevinChee they're all under AdSense. For me I don't have an id that Google accepts, it takes a while to get one in my country. But my cousin does so she created an account. And linked my RUclips to it. Once I get my id, I'll close the account and open one under my name.

This is exactly what I have been going through for months! I am eligible for monetization, but am refused because AdSense claims I already have an AdSense account, which I don't! And, as you say, there is NO ONE to contact about it.
Very annoying indeed. I ended up creating a new AdSense account but I needed a new physical address for that. Seems to be the fastest way. Till this day, I still have not receive a response from AdSense.

I created a new adsense account and linked it to my RUclips channel. I got approved a week ago. So far, I made £4 .....
Just create another adsense account and link it to your channel. It can be a different email to your RUclips channel.

I'm having the exact same issue. RUclips sent me the exact same email (the 2nd one) and they did not mention the reason for rejection. I've watched the second part of this video. I'll give it a try. Hope I won't get rejected again.
My issue is with AdSense not RUclips. If you can create a brand new verified AdSense account then I am sure you can link your channel to it. See my pinned comment.
They can fix it. Same thing happened to me. Now I collect my $500-700 a month :)

Yeah. The best way is if you can start a brand new AdSense account. Good thing is you can start today.
Hey man, just went through your page, your content is nice. But I must say I'm not impressed. Your views are not even consistently going up for someone who has been doing RUclips for long. You have got some serious research to do. RUclips is not just about luck. It also comes down to our we go about it
@@destinyroland5677 thank you genuinely. I really do appreciate any feed back ( Hell even a view). Truth I don't do it as a career and my job limits some things I can say and talk about so you are right its not "well done". Plus the time is not accurate because I have really only started posting a in earnest a month or two again and sporadically because 1. as stated I have to get clearance to say some things; 2. I have a few day jobs and filming and editing takes time; and 3. I don't have a constitution to be honest. Initially it was going to be about explaining the law daily show style but the amount go editing and post production is not worth it. Then then I did the laws behind social media things like the AITA. Again prost production and filming takes forever. Then there was the well I have 50K on tiktok so how do I make videos I can post on both. Then it became reaction with analysis but again the post production. Then I realized I was getting just as much out with less facts and proof because people rather talking head than evidence. That said I would prefer a better product explaining things and adding value to a conversation but people gravitate more toward throw rocks at hot topics like the brick give or trump so why bother. If I want to get to the 4000 hours I am getting more view time on throwing red meat and fireballs even if I don't believe it than being honest. That is what social media is which is why again I said I don't like the content I put out all the time and why so much is sitting in my editing folders because I don't want to compromise myself to say things to get views. As I said I have a real job and real like pays more. I can't let my side hobby mess with that so you are correct I am not grinding like some. What I more meant was I was taking more time to eak out views and views. I dont think I have 200 videos total including shorts and I have about 1000+Hours maybe where people do that on one video throwing red meat. For my own personal goal I want the 4000 but I am not going to let that compromise who I am or interfere with my real life. If I wanted to make it a career I could use the strategies and I have the content hot spot apps etc. I do me and hope for the best. I don't ask for money because that is not what its about but I do get you point where I could work more if I wanted to be in the space.

I’ve just hit 22 subscribers and 47 watch hours since January. The target is now 500 sbs and 3000 watch hrs since YT lowered the threshold.
Sorry to hear of your experience Kevin but this is so typical of the society we live in now. Big faceless companies with no customer service. I’m middle aged and have seen the whole deterioration since the 90s when customer service was great and ‘the customer was always right.’ It’s incredibly frustrating the way these days nobody wants to pick up the phone. There’s a book called ‘death of customer service in the 21st century’ and I make them right. It’s awful now.
Really hope you got this sorted - I know this was a couple of years ago now.💪

@@selphineomwenga4258 47 watch hours is peanuts. I'm really no expert at this. All i do is post the best videos i can and post as regularly as i can. I've made 14 videos since January which is about 3 per month.

What I found was my adsense has an issue and it is tied to my address somehow. I can neither create a new account nor can I fix the issue with my account. It was a mess and there was no one support from adsense or Google. I suggest you try creating a new adsense account with a different address if you have one.
Btw, is your channel focusing solely on RUclips Shorts now? I can see it grew your channel significantly!

Try being in the music scene. There are channels with million plus subscribers (IE Rick Beato) that cannot be monetized due to the music played is 'copyright'. Even though they have the artists direct permission. Monetization is not the be-all of RUclips and there are other ways of obtaining an income 😉
I definitely do not speak on behalf of music, that's a whole different genre and something I will not touch. But if I am in the music niche, I wouldn't be looking at monetizing on YT but rather, use YT as a platform to spread my music (assuming I am writing my own song).

I have noticed that my videos and friend’s videos from a year ago , are being pushed now. It is a curious phenomenon that is being administered by a machine. If RUclips had a human we could contact by telephone, so many of these frustrations and glitches could be solved in the matter of minutes. ✌️🌈

I totally understand your frustration. For me chapters don’t work - even though I set them up correctly. And I have other channels where they are cool. I think RUclips is a mess and it desperately needs a support at least for those creators who uploaded X number of videos.
I do agree. Loyalty and consistency should be rewarded. They are promoting all the trendy and meaningless videos way too much
@@KevinChee My number one problem is the glitchiness and the inconsistency. I saw you got monetized eventually and congratulations!
My issue now is that all my shorts get only 1k impressions, and that's it. RUclips stops serving impressions. Even if their doing 45% of views per 1k impressions.
Shorts can be quite random at times. Sometimes if blows out of proportion and sometimes it flatlines. The difference is to drastic.

I feel your pain in getting monetized! I got monetized a while ago and it was horrible process! I was 15 at the time and wasn’t able to signup for my own Adsense account and I got declined. After getting my parents to signup for one (which is what google recommends for going about this issue). It wouldn’t let me link it since I had previously linked my channel to the original one that I tried to create that got declined. Trying to get this fixed was terrible and google provided no help whatsoever. Just like your situation, google had no one you could talk to about the issue and I felt defeated and screwed over. The fix for me was to wait 38 days and then it let me relink the new Adsense account to my channel. In the end I lost an entire month of revenue which would’ve been pretty significant at the time. I hope you get your situation figured out. I know how it feels 😞
Sounds like you had it worse than me. I couldn't link mine to any Adsense so I did not have to wait 38 days, I simply created a new AdSense account and link them up. The frustrating part is getting help from AdSense, literally no help whatsoever even though it is clearly a flaw in AdSense
What’s worse is. My account reached to 3880 watch hour and that’s when my pc died. Couldn’t make any video and yeah it’s been 3 years it happened. Trying to get to 4k again

RUclips started inserting ads into channels that are non-monetized some time last year. You don't get any of those ad revenue and you have no control over it until you are monetized. I get that on my videos as well so some viewers thought that my channel is monetized. 😀

I can't get monetized as I use copyrighted music. I'd rather use music I love instead if making money from RUclips. It's MyTube not YourTube. I make videos for me 1st and everyone else 2nd. People seem to love my content and I've never had a bad comment really. All comments are all positive. I have a video with 1.3M views. My channel has nearly 1.5M views so.that one video got me the subs and views. 😅

I was thinking how actually google tracks duplicate adsense account. I mean how they identify whether we have more than one adsense account? Based on the full name in the accounts or something else? Because I remember I had once created an adsense account, but now I have forgotten the password for that Google account. So, this means I have a duplicate account? But I can't login into that account anymore. Can this be solved?
Probably by IP address I would say but I'm not 100%

Literally because I’m 13 years old Adsense needs to use guardians account. And to change the Adsense association (I want to create a new Adsense account on my parents account) but it takes 32 days to close. I don’t understand why need one month

Yah I don't like that they never specify where the problem is. So now even tho I have the subs and Watch hrs I can't monetize since some of my videos goes against thier policy but they are not telling me which ones so at the end I might have to delete all my videos and start again just because idk which one

I have a different issue where monetization is concerned but mannn, you look up to all these RUclipsrs growing up in the 2015 era. Then u decide to indulge in RUclips. You work hard on creating vids. Putting in the time. Day in & Day out. U get the 4,000 watch hours. And the 1k subs. And u go to apply and they send u an Email with a big “REJECTED” note on the inside. They spit in the face of ur hard work and effort you’ve put into ur content. And just ur passion in general. Type of Shhhh to make a grown man cry 💯. But I’m trying a different approach to Monetization.
Have they tell you why is it rejected? They'll usually will explain in some way.

Its even more funny, when you WAS monetised but because of new rules i lost my AdSense, my ability to earn revenue and completely lost the will to do RUclips.
I have now started again but off course lost a ton of subscribers. We will se how it goes.

Haha, I wish but my views aren't just coming in, which is why I always talk about the 'luck' in getting views to massively grow views and watch hours. I don't have that so I'll have to take the long and patient road. I'd say this is another obstacle to overcome, I'll get there :)

Same problem with my friend, lucky for me I was able to close my 1st adsense account a long time ago. Now I have multiple channels in one adsense account
I haven't tried multiple channels yet but sounds like a good idea to have them all linked to 1 account!

I am in the same situation. It is very frustrating. I even asked other small creators. They said my views are low. It should not matter if you got the 1000 subscribers and the 4000 watch hours.
I'm not sure who those small creators are but they seem to be missing a point. If you get those 4000 watch hours, you should do whatever you can do to get into the RUclips Partner Program.
The reason is because once you're in, you do not need to maintain 4000 watch hours in the last 12 months anymore. So, even if your last 12 months' watch hours dropped to say, 3500, but you're already in the YPP, then you will still be monetised. In other words, you do not need to worry about watch hours after you're monetised. It has got nothing to do with low views.

I had the same issue and what I had to do to get it fixed was I had to give ownership of my RUclips channel to my wife’s Gmail account because I could not figure out how to delete one of my AdSense accounts. So I moved full ownership to her and deleted me off of it, and now I’m monetized just through her Adsense
You can actually create a new AdSense account and link your RUclips channel to it. RUclips and AdSense are 2 different platforms so if you can't link AdSense to it, it is usually AdSense that is the problem. I ended up needing to create a new AdSense account with a different address to get it to work.

After clicking on subscription and services, I found out that I had a refund owing to me from Google to the tune of $195... Which must have been from my old stadia membership... It pays to watch your videos! Lol😅
