how fun is chassis prep, think I spent nearly 2 weeks on it with a grinder, all painted now though, satisfying once complete, looking forward to the next update mate.. we can have a caravan build off lol, literally at the same stage as yourself.... although I' making all new roof hatches x3 and every window as the originals are all in fairly poor condition, as my build is more based around a tiny home type space than a van reno it should be all good..
Very helpful bits and ideas. Funny your proposed layout is same as mine after 6 rigs and 6years permanent travel. So if you got to this on your first you'll be just fine. As this was 2 yrs ago, I'll search for later videos. cheers
Look up John Martin Caravan Repairs, 165 New W Rd, Port Lincoln SA 5606 he has a heap of NOS spares for old vans like yours ..... we called in there on our lap of Aus... looking forward to more vids

Hi guys after you’ve renovated and put water tanks grey water etc in have you got a idea on how much the van will weigh
Anita Foster Well the original weight was about 1100kg, so I would love to end up around that if possible 👌🏽
@@DylanGaston that’s pretty good older vans look deceiving look heavy but yours would weigh less than ours ✌️

Mick Molloy Ah nice, thanks for the tip. And also the comment about the hole for the table, makes sense now haha 😂
The hole allows you to lower the table to a bed in some vans
Honestly I wanna see more because holy shit with my van I have to sit down and jut cry
💞
Hi you need to fix the jay rails
Hey guys, what size & type of timber did you use for the framework? My franklin has almost none in any of the walls!
Sarah Vella The frame work for the walls was 22x35 pine that I ripped down from 90x35 and the roof was 70x45 treated pine.
