@Rock n Roll Machine Yes for sure and still now in the ending of 2022!!! I was lucky enough to see Alter Bridge live in Toronto back in 2019 I believe it was and was NOT let down one bit.!!! I had tickets to see Alter Bridge in the May of 2020. We all know what happened to that concert. I will be seeing them in February so I have that to look forward to. You are 100% right about nobody like him. He has one of the most unusual beautiful voices. He has such a range it is crazy. He is one busy busy man. He not only sings with Alter Bridge, but he has his own solo work he has been doing and I have seen him twice with Slash and the Conspirators. Again never let down.

How havent you listened to Alter Bridge- Words Darker than their Wings live at the Royal Albert Hall ft the Parallex Orchestra yet?! You want a song that will make you yank your hair out!? THIS is the song! The note Myles hits is incredible!!! A back story of this song is about a conversation between the lead vocalists Myles Kennedy and the lead guitarist Mark Tremonti had about faith, Myles was having a hard time believing after his dad passed away and Mark is saying dont lose hope, maybe there Is something out there! They sing back and forth to each other in the song like they're having the conversation! Its incredibly deep and powerful! Please check it out!

So, to answer your question; Watch over You was the first Alter Bridge song I heard. My ex boyfriend sat me down on a playground outside of his house with fish and chips amd was like; "you gotta listen ti these two songs". He played Watch over You and Bent to Fly (a song also by Myles but as a collab with Slash). I fell in love with both songs (not realising Myles was the vocalist for both)... However, i took the meaning of Watch over You and thought (very naively) that my ex was hinting that he wanted to break up with me (this was only about 5 months into our 5 year relationship). Turns out that he just really liked the song, and after about a year of exploring Myles' collab with Slash (aptly titled Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators), I came to the realisation that the Alter Bridge frontman was the same person.
I am now a superfan of Myles himself, have all his albums (alter Bridge, Slash, Solo album and his work with his previous band; the Mayfield Four). I am hoping that if Alter Bridge come to Australia during their current tour that I will get to meet the band!

First let me say that this songs version made me cry, ugly kind of cry. I've heard studio rendition but it did not touch me as much as this one did. This acoustic along with the singer's voice and his emotion brought me to a place in my life when I had to stop listening to music. Music was too painful to hear. I ended a 12 year relationship and it took me over 2 years to walk away. So yes, this is the song I would have left behind had it existed at that time.
Ty you're a musician so you know what it's like when you are writing a song. it is the stripped down version that is created and everything else is added in for the studio/album but it is still that original unplugged version that created and gave birth to that and other beautiful songs.
Thank you for this lovely song and visiting a hard time in my life...I can only hope it has made me wiser.

As you said you love to see the emotion during live a performances, please check out live versions of Myles performing his solo material. The great Beyond, Year of the Tiger, Only Love Can heal, Love Rain Down and Moonshot and Haunted by Design are all great to react to. All are made even better if you look up the meanings behind the songs.
