This happened to me on a dating site just before the pandemic. It was almost immediately that a screen shot of a digital currency daily earnings was sent and them saying they could help me so I could pay off my student loans. I almost bought into the scam until they sent me something to fill out my information and open an account that was in Chinese. The guy said he was in the Bay Area, but that he goes in between San Diego and The Bay for his Hotel job. He was persistent to get me to open an account and start 'earning', but with every mention of money and showing off his "wealth" I was more and more disgusted. Luckily they didn't get money from me, but I do worry about information they could grab from means other than from me willingly. Its a scary world out there and there are predators of every kind lurking and waiting. I never thought it was an outfit in China preying on the lonely and destitute from all areas of the globe. Pretty women who are the first to start a conversation and immediately block me after my message that I am not interested in crypto and a few hours later the accounts are also deleted but new ones appear every day, the same pictures, the same names...
And men too! No one is safe tbh
@@JoeTidy totally what i don't understand is why these dating apps are not aware of this problem. its really annoying all these crypto scammers
@@TheDecimusic They are aware but to them they are just another account. More accounts means better numbers to attract more investors, more data to sell and more revenue if you have to pay to join the site.
@JoeTidy No? AND MEN TOO? It's not like we're watching a video about that right now.
If a woman messages me its always a romance scam lmao
Plenty of these at dating sites 😂
At 60 years old, if a young hottie tries to get cozy with me, all I hear is "GRIFT ALERT, GRIFT ALERT!" But if it's an old naggy nanny? Well, I'll just hand over my credit card and checking account numbers after her first "Hello!"
I get at least one of those opener scam message a day. It usually starts with "Hi", or "How are you today?" or a similar nonsense.
What platform are you using?
I'm on Facebook but other than that, I only have text and email.
I don't get any scammer messages.
If you fall for that rubbish you shouldn't be left in a room on your own ! 😂
Sending your old passport was a really bad idea
wanna explain why?
@@EmreErcan-utopiano Looks like it contained the journalist's personal information, which could be used by criminals for identity theft at a later date. This gang might use it themselves or sell the data to other criminals. It's always dangerous for amateurs to dabble in scambaiting. There are dozens of professional/semi-professional scambaiters on YT who know how to do it safely.
@@EmreErcan-utopiano Because it might be used for the purpose of identity theft. An old passport is not ideal but it is far better than nothing.

I sincerely appreciate all of your hard work, MYRETRIEVAL
Continue the fantastic work that you have been doing!
We are grateful that you have spared and shielded millions of Europeans from these callous individuals.
It is true that what goes around, comes around! Give it to them!
God bless you for being there for us victims.
Well… good to see this finally put on here, and I wish finally governments will do something to avoid this
MUCH TO MY WIFE'S RELIEF?!?!? THIS MAN AINT SINGLE AND HE LOVED THE PHOTOSSSSS💀💀💀
"to my wifes relief" 😂 that statement probably has her worried now
This happened to me on a dating site just before the pandemic. That's just wild.
This is a very informative clip. I never got that that far with those people and was loosing interest or was blocked sooner than that. I have always been curious about how they eventually scam others. I appreciate Joe doing this investigation
Report those profiles
And then, they blocked me - End of a beautiful love story 😂
Social media companies are 💯 responsible for all scams that happens under their platform
They say they don't inspect the conversations, that chats are prívate -- yet, they extract intents and insights to sell ads to advertisers and profit.
Exactly, like every robbery happens using a German car, the responsibility falls on Volkswagen
@@chico5286meh, not really. unless the manufacturers of Volkswagen were the getaway drivers too. Then thats an accurate comparison
The timing of this is hilarious.. I'm leading my scammer on, she even video calls me once a week "MY LOVEE, LET'S START TRADING." 😂
I was naïve and thought that this video was about a pork meat scam.
Same, they scammed us
@@edmundblackaddercoc8522You said that you were scammed how did it happen?
@@VarisaraGibson😂 back to the home you go
That’s why I don’t like mobile phones, iPads & computers, no privacy & stressful. Bring back the old days
Many people from Taiwan is kidnapped and forced to do this job
As a digital artist, I've dealt with many scammers online pretending to ask for art commissions when they are only interested in making me pay for their NFT or something like that. As a way to call their bluffs, I'd insult them or their family members with profanity before they blocked me. It's the least I can do for attempting to scam me or anybody else.
The problem with scammers is that they have been taught well by the ultimate scammer: Capitalism. You didn't get to the brink of extinction by being told the truth, did you?
I LOVE the fact that the victims were able to leave that message to the assistance team. They were able to tell that guy, they are no longer victims! you are such an awesome force MYRETRIEVAL to be reckoned and that is why I watch you!!!!Keep up the good works
The person who impersonated Jessica is mostly bunch of oily bold-head dudes in Nigeria or India.
I'm sorry. Nobody deserves to be scammed but some people take absolutely zero accountability for their stupidity
I get so many message from them so often so many social platforms and even linkedin.
Pretty interesting. I've been contacted by scammers several times, as I'm sure everybody else has, but it always seems so obvious that it is a scam.
Last Week Tonight did an episode on this topic recently. It's a long con, the newest version of the sweetheart scam. Highly recommend watching if anyone wants a more detailed explanation and deep dive into this scam. It's available here on RUclips.
They can't ever scam me... because l don't have money to be scammed.
Who would fall for these scams it's unbelievable how someone would send them money 🤑😂😂😂
Once you get older, you'll understand because people's minds aren't as sharp as they were when they are young and fall victim.
It just depends on if the person getting catfished has critical thinking or not 😅 @@WLVFX
@@WLVFXOlder minds are worldly wiser.
@@spirituallysafe is that why they are the target demo for these scams? And also the only people that ever fall for them??Cause they're so wise? 😂
Pro tip: don't talk to strangers over internet.
They are paying girls money now, to facetime with you and play along, even harder to detect. I had a call once, and she could not hold a conversation.
Homeboy shot his shot and thought it was real😂
If they’re making a ton of money from crypto why do they need that $500 lol
The scary thing that people actually fall fall for this
there would be no reason to fall into this scam if the economy was indeed alright.
My sincere thanks for sharing it.
As soon as I heard “can I ask you a question” it was a scam 😂
Scammers used to be Nigerians in the post, now its Chinese online. The imaginary lure of easy money..
Exactly
Still are. Most romance scams originate in West Africa. Tech Support scams are India. SE Asia focuses on pig butchering.
To be precise, they are Chinese speaking crime groups in South East Asia that are out of reach of the Chinese government. Because their main target is Chinese citizens in China. If they were in China, they would have been cracked down by the authoritative Chinese police already.
Jessica knows all the cords. 😂
BTW as soon as they sent the pictures, alarm bells rang. 😂
I love the way this man tries to preserve his value above all else and never uses a curse or bad words to help the victim through his healing. hats off for you grindtechei for your help rendered with such a positive achievement•
Be careful people, you could think you're talking to someone innocent, only to find that you're actually talking to a BBC reporter. Terrifying.
😂
Who in their freaking mind will respond to a random message by a woman looking like that?
The lonely people. The very Lonely people don't think straight
So easy to tell if these things are fake. It’s so so so easy to spot
The stupidity, ignorance and greed of people who fall for such dumb scams is what shock me more than anything else.
They get drawn into it by someone who is claiming to love them. Loves blinds and ppl comply thinking its part of being in a relationship
A fool and his money are easily parted
I have zero sympathy for people who fall for this, if you are this stupid and money obsessed then 🤷🏻♀️
It happened to at least 2 of my friends. They’re not stupid. One of them has master degree in medical practice. They are just desperate, vulnerable and yes greedy and somehow brain-washed. Once being told, they even turned against you and their own family.😢
