This is the first speedrun I ever saw which actually requires learning something practical outside of games.
Ive been practicing japanese on duolingo for a week or so now and its taught me more than any other class ive ever taken, all memes aside its an amazing way to learn a new language
I never thought about speedrunning a language learning application. This could bring me to a new level in languages learning, or completely drain my motivation to do anything... SHALL ATTEMPT SOON

Honestly, I think it depends on your 1st language. A lot of Western European countries have similar languages, thus making it easier to learn. This also can apply to Asian countries. 1 (of 3) Japanese writing system is basically stolen from China.
(For those people who want to know what the other two writing languages are, they are phonetic, called Hiragana and Katakana.

I was one of the lucky ones to get an agreement, and Duo will not do anything with my family if I miss a lesson. Most people don’t have that happen, so thank goodness I am lucky. I still try to keep my streak, though.
