"Pro black does not mean anti-white." I wish more Americans understood that. He came to my small town college in Pikeville Kentucky & gave a lecture. I couldnt go but my friend ran sound for the event. Said Griff was cool as hell. Griff got a lot of knowledge if people would just listen to him.

Anybody and everybody knew Flav was on crack but Flavor Flav was absolutely necessary for Public Enemy to work. Griff and the S1W's, necessary, Terminator X, necessary, Flav was the treble and Chuck D was the Bass. It's a musical science.
Griff was nothing to fuck with in our hood. He use to teach the arts to a bunch of us little kids in front of his moms house in Roosevelt. Brick town was a small projects in Freeport. Long Island was a suburban area. But that project look like a Brooklyn projects. It stood out among all the house's. Peace and much Respect.
PE gave black people a sense of pride and sef-worth missing from America since the 60s. They raised many young men to become real men. Slavery was reality just 155 years ago. There were about 4.5 million blacks in America-Approx 4 million were slaves. One year later about 3 million were "freed" into almost the same place as the slaves -poverty, no education, no land, no jobs, family connections, etc. There are people alive today who knew people who were alive when slavery was normal. The beliefs that allow such a thing as slavery to exist were sometimes passed to their kids, who sometimes passed those beliefs to their kids, who may be too dumb to understand why that's wrong. Just 54 years ago Legal Segregation was the law in America... If you accept those as indications of your value - those two things alone - not to mention the names, signs, groups, movies, etc - make it almost impossible to feel respected, equal or any sense of fairness exists in the US. When people say "Get over it, race isn't an issue" They are ignorant and childish. They are probably the low IQ, non-evolved people mentioned. Ignore them for the fools they are... When someone says "Yes, that is truly too hard a thing thing to live with, so don't. Choose to explore today's possibilities to the best of your abilities and pursue your best life options based on your current freedoms", you may want to listen and live free from the pain and shame we don't have to carry, unless we choose to do so.
ReallyStrongGuy I didn't know much about Black history until the second album. I didn't know who Farrakhan was until PE and a member of his mosque in Newark gave me my name. School taught me how to sit Indian style...eat free lunch...play kickball...and avoid project housing posse problems. Anything else I learned there was pure luck.
ReallyStrongGuy slavery never ended in America they just changed it to say blacks had to b convicted of a crime so they made everything illegal. Read the 13th amendment

You know as much as I like Flav it always seemed weird with a group like PE that a dude like Flav was in the group. It just didn’t mesh really, it’s like Batman having the Joker as a sidekick.

What a dedicated professional!
Man how did Hip Hop fall so far..... Watching this feels like watching a relay race where the guy gets the baton and runs in the wrong direction. There's still a few conscious artist out there, but it just seems like we should be a LITTLE further along now in our wokeness.

Public Enemy could have been the group to unite everyone had they been from West Coast. They were way ahead of the game as far as a bloodless revolution, addressing true evils in society and breaking stereo types while presenting examples of strength.
