You should stand next to one while it's on an engine trim pad in full afterburner. Your whole body feels like someone is doing a drumroll on it using 1000 base drum drumsticks. Even with earplugs and earmuffs on, you still can't even hear yourself scream at the top of your lungs. Yeah, I've lost half my hearing and the ringing constant. :>0 The sacrifices we make to keep these old dinosaurs in the air. Although the B2, F-22, and F-35 (and new B-21) have their place, the backbone of the USAF (and Navy) are aircraft built between 1955 to 1992, and most are two to three times older than the aircrews that fly and maintain them... ------ KC-135, C-5, B-52, B-1, F-15C, F-15E, F-16, F-18, SH-3 Sea King.....
Absolutely *stunning* photography! That shot of the the F Super Hornet launching from the carrier as shot from what looks like the tower… Into the moonrise? That is amazing. Thank you so much for this incredible footage… So proud of our military! 🇺🇸
4:58 that has got to be the coolest seat in the house! Get to see a bunch of badA fighter jets in flight right in front of you & a sky that never quits to amaze.
There is just something about full afterburner that really amazes me. Although you missed a few crucial jets for this to be the ultimate video: F-14 and more importantly the F-22 raptor but I’ll give you props for including the rarest of them all the Hoover craft😂 can’t forget about that one can we
8:14 I this from some kind of infrared camera? I see each soldier appears to have beacons of some kind and you can see the tips of the rotors on the osprey (maybe heating from going supersonic at the tips) but I have never seen an infrared video that was also in color. Can anyone share any thoughts?
I think they're lit. Unlike helos, the Osprey can tilt its rotors. In routine nighttime ops it would be to let everyone know the orientation of the rotors (they get tilted for taxi and takeoff). I would expect that they can be turned off for black ops.
They got the reputation from when the Army was testing them. The Osprey is susceptible to rotor recirculation, which is bad enough on a single rotor aircraft, but on the MV-22 was devastating since you would suddenly get asymmetric lift and it would flip over. Couple that with the fact that instances of rotor recirculation typically happen at low altitudes near the ground and you see the reason why a lot fatalities occurred. The instances dropped significantly when the Marine Core took over the program after the Army walked away from it but the air frame is still plagued by it (and other mechanical issues) and is the entire fleet accross all branches is currently grounded pending mechanical and safety assessment.
The b 1 lancer probably the loudest frigging aircraft ever made, it will scare the shit out of you for sure and possibly blow your damn ear drum. The lighting 2 and Growler is the second loudest aircraft.
Honestly modern technology moves like a 1993 Geo Metro automatic in an emergency compared to our UAP visitors. It's laughable at the least. I'll say ours look way better but thats only for aerodynamics. It's like a carburerated lawnmower vs a Skyline. Miss me with the humans too. Buncha dorks.

The B-1B Lancer is by far the loudest aircraft I've ever heard on my life, and I've spent a lot of time on Marine Corps Air Station flight lines.

SR-71s are pretty loud too. I was based at Beale AFB, CA. The real screamer though was the T-37.
Try the Concorde. Used to live near Heathrow. Everything in the house would rattle.
@@tomd1397 A few years back I saw my first video of a crewman climbing into the same buff that his dad used to fly.
@@commandlion8667 You beat me to it. Habu's on Okinawa. Takeoffs felt like an earthquake.
This has to be THE best military vid I've ever seen. Absolutely spot on. Awesome job.

Marvelous.
夕暮れの時のアフターバーナがロマンチックに感じるのはあの映画の影響だろうかw
The f15 with afterburners is so beautiful against the night sky. A 40+ year old aircraft still going strong. 🇺🇸
The B-1 Lancer is such a majestic looking jet.

This satisfied me as a man
The B1, even with four on burners, uses 3/4s of that runway. What a marvelous machine.

It's abrasive sand hitting the rotors and heating up the tips. Never seen that before either. Pretty cool.
They are called "heads up lighting". It's a literal term. They are only used for training.
