  • Moondance is one of the best Grand Banks 42' Classics available on the market. She was repowered less than a year ago and has only 300hrs on her Caterpiller 3208TA engines, all but guaranteeing years of reliable service and easy maintenance. Life style changes make her available now.
With over 1500 delivered the iconic GRAND BANKS 42' Classic remains the most successful trawler design ever produced. Introduced in 1966, the original mahogany construction gave way to fiberglass in late 1973.
The GRAND BANKS 42's semi-displacement hull with it's long keel, hard chines and a deep forefoot, provides a level of stability and comfort seldom matched by other boats. Full teak interior with galley up at the port side forward, lower helm door to starboard & mid-salon door to port enhance ingress & egress to either side, a must when locking through or docking at a different port each evening.
Surrounded by large cabin windows, visibility from the lower helm is excellent in all directions, and there's plenty of flybridge seating for when fine weather prevails. She also has a large aft cockpit for easy line handling or for cooking dinner on the rail mounted Magma grill, plus wide walk arounds that allow easy access to all four corners of the boat, a must for serious cruising.
Truly a couple's dream for extended cruising, day trips or taking a group of friends around the bay for sight seeing.
A pleasure to show, a pleasure to own, a pleasure to sell, Moondance may be just the Grand Banks 42' you've wished for.

I agree. It sure is a beautiful, and timeless design and has a layout that no new boat seems to have. Not sure why manufactures stopped making aft cabin yachts.

The excellent presentation was marred by several commercial interruptions.

I’m looking for one of h to see on the east coast, but EVERY single one I can find is always a wood hull, but I need a fiberglass hull. I don’t want to have to replace wood. Fiberglass is much easier to keep up with, it’s such a shame I can’t find any.

I noticed at least a bow thurster command stick at the lower helm on the starboard side, does she also have a stern thurster?

does the GB require stabilizers if so does this one have them. What were the hours on the previous engines? Bow and stern thrusters? Where can she be seen

As far as I know the GB42 has nor needs no stabilizers. He mentioned 300hrs on the new engines and no thrusters. Twins on a 42 will move you easily side to side.

Hi Allen. She had new engines installed last year with only 300hrs on the new ones. She is currently listed for $350,000.

Repowered, meaning new engines, how do you get a big diesel engine in there? Or the old one out? I know you can do inframe rebuilds if the motor is sleeved, but wtf.

Why is she plowing the water so much in the opening of the video? She looks really bow heavy.
