Update: Yes, I played the games in performance mode. Only Control had bad performance, but the other games had all above 50fps.

Your gaming performance was suffering because you didn't have it in performance mode and pluggerd in. Also you not only have to set Windows to performance mode but also in Samsung settings. This laptop is a beast for gamming considering it's size and wattage limits.

fn 11 press it to turn power mode on , it becomes a different beast
its shouldnt have to he plugged in lol
you should have laptop plugged for higher performance. even game laptops struggles when are not plugged.

Whatever you get, ensure it has a mux switch, it is a must.

Don't have any db readings for you, so it's pretty subjective, but the fans seem to spin up fairly quickly and in performance mode it might sound louder. It all depends on what you do.

From my little experience, I can tell you that the display has a very high maximum brightness, but the screen is made from glass as far as I can tell and could be quite reflective under bad conditions.
So it depends. Light from the window or on a cloudy day is no problem, but if you try to use it in the summer during midday, it might not be a good experience.
In that case I also highly discourage you from using it under these conditions too, because heat can damage the electronics and espeacially the battery, and the hardware itself can also be damaged by the sunlight when being exposed for some time.
With the windows performance mode the GPU runs only at 40w. Did you change the Samsung power settings to enable the GPU to run at 60w, too?

Do you have problems with very loud fan??? My fan gets really loud when I power it on for no reason.
I dont mind the fan getting loud, what I don't like is that it gets this high pitch or screech sound to it. Just wondering if thats normal? Just want to make sure I don't have a defective laptop.
Was it in performance mode when gaming (in the samsung settings)? Without that i heard gaming is terrible. Other reviews seemed to imply better gaming perofrmance on the 4070 variant
Yes, I don’t ever game unless it's on performance mode. But like I said the fps was only terrible in Control. It was better in other games.

I got the i7 model so the key to gaming on these I normally have it ssetting on my cooler pad and hooked to my bedroom 42 inch tv I run at 1080 and most games can pull 60 fps give or take a few of coarse I hace windows heavily debloated Most of defender totaly gone
In Samsung Settings you have a "High Performance" mode. Did you set that?

Those game settings/fps doesn't sound right. I can easily put at least high settings on the games I've tried with minimun 60fps. You have to put high performance mode on (also) from the Samsung settings and you'll get much more out of the GPU. Doesn't sound like you had it on and yeah it's a bit confusing.
To be honest, it's on. I should've included an fps counter for all the games, but at least you can see it for Control in the bottom right corner.
But for Shadow of Tomb Raider and other games, it was better.
I've had it for over a month and im getting 7-8 hours of battery life watching youtube at native resolution with about 75% of screen brightness...your gaming performance is also very low compared to what ive tested on mine.
I got this a few days ago and I can't get more than 3-4 hours. Did you do any changes?
@@nan5281 on battery power i have it set to best power efficiency. When plugged in it’s at best performance. Along with this i made sure no background apps were overworking the machine
@@nan5281 same i just bought this laptop bc i wanted to try out Samsung laptop so far its really nice. Only thing is the battery life I'm not getting more than 2-3 hours. battery drains rapidly
the samsung company say as this laptop has 17 h battery in playback .. i think they are joking !!! 😂
Why nobody is talking about the actual problem that this laptop is having?

1x USB Type A
1x HDMI 2.0
1x SD card
1x 3.5mm jack
The problem is not the type of ports, but numbers. Why there is only 1 Type A? After you put it on charge only 1 Type C port is left what are the Type C devices available in market? After I plug my mouse in, where should I put plug my keyboard?
I really started to wonder the moment I saw this laptop for the first time that "do creators never use external HDD, thumb drive for drivers or windows bootable, external nvme, capture card or anything else?" As most of these items run on USB Type A.
Thank God I already have a USB hub and Type C to Type A OTG. But not every people have it. So please Samsung give us more USB Type A ports
why does it need Type A at all? Type C is in fact a standard nowadays. Right side of the laptop is useless. why the 3.5 jack? Everyone uses bluetooth nowadays.
Type A ports are the thing of the past. Thunderbolt 4 should be a standard
@matt-eu-poland 3.5 jack has way higher quality of audio than compressed bluetooth. That's why, because professionals don't use Bluetooth to fine tune the audio of a musical project.
@@matt-eu-poland type A port's are universal, as thunderbolt is not that widely available as it is costly to put on a laptop. Type-C enabled devices do not support all of the devices you can run from Type - A. So Type - A still has alot wider support.
@@matt-eu-polandthe guy was simple making a point that the limitations of ports proves lack of design thought and it will force users to spend more money for hubs, dock's and even usb to RJ-45 which is stupid not to include network port to such a premium laptop. Network port is way more stable, faster and reliable than wireless connections. To me it seems like a rushed project, to catch up with Apple.
I prefer Samsung laptop
And on phones I prefer iPhone
3h battery life is just a joke. I think a laptop battery should last at least 7-9 hours or a full work day 🤔
