Does this work for WiiWare titles, I can't seem to get it to recognize them. Also, would it be possible to partition a portable drive, so you could also store GameCube iso files on it too?
I had this issue and I solved it thanks to a little thing you said « homebrew cant play apps and games on the same drive ». I had an « app » folder on my drive with the games. It was empty but that was the cause of the issue. Once I deleted it, and reset the parameters in loaderGX it worked just fine. You didn’t solved it but you did it anyway. Thank you.

I've been following your tutorials the last 12 hours straight and they've led me to here which is frustrating because this video completely contradicts the other videos of yours I've watched and it has made this whole experience SO confusing I want to pull my hair out. What's the point of modding a wii if you can't play gamecube games? From my understanding, gamecube games can only be played in iso format and if it can't read iso than wouldn't that mean this only works with wii games? this CANT be the only solution. and it CANT be the sd card because ive tried 3 different SDs and 2 different flash drives. All were fat32 formatted prior and still nothing. Saying the wii doesnt recognize the usb/sd doesnt make any sense to me considering all the apps for homebrew show up when the sd gets plugged in. So we know the storage device can be read. Its got to be a file issue. I know im one of many thatve followed your tutorials and are now stuck at this exact point. We desperately need a real fix for this. what a nightmare this has been.

If you're using a vwii on the WiiU: - make sure to use Wii manager to format your usb stick. - make sure the usb stick for your vwii is in the TOP port in the REAR. - do not put your WiiU hard drives/usb sticks in the rear, only use the front, this can confuse usb loader. -check the usb loader settings and click on the initialize button, it'll select the available drive. It does recognize other smaller ones but the one i used is a 1TB one and would like to be able to access it again but I don’t know how.
Hey guys! If none of this works (which none of it did for me.), with your usb plugged in, go into the settings of usb loader gx and go to the "hardrive settings" click on the "game/install partition", which it should say fat32 and the amount of gigs on your usb. after that click "back" and it should load usb loader again and be able to read your usb. You may have to do this twice.
Didn't work for me sadly. Once I plug in the second USB (formatted as wbsf) it won't load the bootloader in Homebrew. I tried swapping the slots too but that doesn't work either. Using one USB led to the USB device not initialized error.

@@stigmaticbudgie666it just says “not initialized” and I can’t click it, y know a work around that?
Do you have the mount on boot option on? Also had the issue with the USB stick flashing and doing nothing so I switched to a external hdd.
Where do u find the mount on boot option
It's like the 3rd option I think in the same menu.
If you're using a vwii on the WiiU:
- make sure to use Wii manager to format your usb stick.
- make sure the usb stick for your vwii is in the TOP port in the REAR.
- do not put your WiiU hard drives/usb sticks in the rear, only use the front, this can confuse usb loader.
-check the usb loader settings and click on the initialize button, it'll select the available drive.
Enjoy
Your saying putting at top port in the REAR and after your saying only use the front ones what?!
@@vikingpg3d i think he meant that we should no put WII U hard drives like formated hard drive for wii u game that wii u wans you o format after powering it on wih his hard drive
but how do i put gamecube games on the wbfs usb stick? Or what other way is there to play gamecube games?
For SOME reason, I followed another one of your tutorials, but games don't show up, even If I put them in the wbfs folder. Any help?
Does this work for bigger usb drives i just bought a 64 gb drive it does read the games but it loads and it's a black screen
0:34 I got this error and got super confused until I saw this video and turned Wii Games on and it fixed. Thanks.
Btw the reason I got that error is because I use an SD card and accidentally went into HDD mode. Switching to SD mode turned off the Wii Games setting for some reason and turned on Nand Channels. Weird.
Before I tried loading games on my device, I managed to get he loader to mount my device. I had it formatted to FAT32. I think this was before installing the custom os. Now when I plug it in with a game loaded via wii backup manager it loads into sd mode. I have my apps etc installed on a SD card and my games on a wbfs formatted usb stick. But I still get the same error... I am not sure where I went wrong
I had the USB initialize problem. Turns out I just had my hard drive connected to the wrong USB port. I was on the bottom USB port on the back of the Wii U. I moved it to the top and it worked fine after that.
Hopefully others find this simple issue too.
Hi great tutorials much appreciated. I've got a tdk usb only 4gb format fat32 works great. Did the came thing on 128gb SanDisk usb games show on loader. But when I press start the wii locks up. Is it just a case of incompatible usb. Thank you for your time.
yeah i think thats the same one i used and it did the same thing so it doesnt seem to work
I tried upgrading my 64 to 128gb usb but it didn't work until I made the 128gb to WBFs, is there any way to get my gamecube games to show since wbfs is just wii?
Can I put wii backup manager on the same sd card I have home brew and everything on?
I'm using a Toshiba 500 GB HDD to hold the games and a random old staples 16gb usb drive for the apps and I could not get it to work.. Is the usb drive the issue? Should I buy a new one? I've been at this wii for hours......
after im doing this my gamess cover art wont showing in the ulgx how do i make my cover art appear again?
USB drive shows up on the Wii and it reads the available storage correctly, however my games show up nowhere on the usbloader. The files are in wbfs and in the correct directories. The Wii games box is checked, the thumb drive is compatible and in fat32 format. The file is named correctly and in correct GameID. I need help
If i formatted it to wbfs , i will able to download GC games inside it ? Or i need to format it again

Hey bro,I downloaded wii sports and Wii sports resort, but resort dosen’t show up,there’s no problem with the region,do you know how to fix it?
So can I just use an external hard drive and an SD card? Nothing extra required? And will reformatting the SD card affect anything in Wii U mode?
this worked for wi games, but now how do I get gamecube games on the usb, since now the format is wbfs?
Hey bro I'm having the opposite problem I think we have to get new usbs to store the other games
When i enter USBLoaderGX and launch a game after clicking start, everything freewes and i cant click anything, any tips
fantastic, thanks!! is there any way to use forwarders along w this method?
I don't know if you see this but I've done all my modding on a Chromebook not a computer do you know any USB sticks that work in fat32
My Wii doesn't even get that far, I hit USB loader and it just turns the screen black and shuts off my controller?
Guys i have a problem when launching a game from usb loader gx it turns me to homebrew challenge what should i do??
me too bro, idk where too look for what to do
Found a fix?
I have a problem. I did everything you said and then I got to the drive part. I started the format with the correct setting and it did it but it would never recognize it after that. It does recognize other smaller ones but the one i used is a 1TB one and would like to be able to access it again but I don’t know how.

Do We Have To Delete The Wii Game Folder On wbfs folder on sd card?
After formatting it to wbfs my usb drive is not showing up in Wii backup manager. Any tips you can give?
Every Time I Load Into a Game On My Wii, and Exit the Game, It Doesn't Have My Save Data, How Do I Fix It?
is it possible to have the menu show games from both sd card and usb?
I tried this but it refused to change from OFF
so when i open usb loader it opens but it doesnt show ne anything its a white screen withe 2 blue lines in the bottom
Didn't work for me sadly. Once I plug in the second USB (formatted as wbsf) it won't load the bootloader in Homebrew. I tried swapping the slots too but that doesn't work either. Using one USB led to the USB device not initialized error.
I'm not sure how to get it working with 2usb drives inserted at the same time. I take one out when I use my usb loader GX one
thank you so much man, you are the GOAT
What do I do if I only have Chrome OS?
EDIT: I got it to work, but when I did everything you said, it still didn't work. Is there any other way to do this?
