- Always a thrill when your phone rings with something fun to build. This time it was a chance to get out of steerage and above deck for the first time this journey. One phone call and a couple sketches later I was sourcing material and starting the fab. Working to a deadline meant that I was in the shop for a few evenings (and a couple early mornings) but in the end it got in the mail on time and delivered ahead of schedule. I'm as excited as anyone to see how Leo and Bob work their magic on the assembly of this and if you haven't already watched you can find it here; • Winter sailing & metal...
Thanks as always for watching and if you are new here please consider sticking around as there is always something going on that you might find interesting.
-Jake
Amazing work - thank you so much Jake!!
My pleasure as always Leo, great to see it in use. Looks fantastic!
Leo sent me. Thank you for filming this process. It makes one more appreciative of the fine skills that you and others have. You're part of history now, and will be remembered fondly for your work. I'll keep up with your other videos. Thanks again, cheers.
In the barndo build you said you wouldn't know where to start with finish work, but I'm pretty sure you could do it with no problem. This gaff saddle work and the precision work that you did on it could easily be transferred to woodworking and finish carpentry. You do some outstanding work!
Thanks Alan!
Every time it amazes me how Tally Ho attracts the most specialist workers around. She (and Leo for that matter) has definitely a kind of magnetism about her. This episode shows that once again! Well done. Beautiful metal work there!
Nice work Jake!
Leo sent me too. Great craftmanship. Great job. 😊
You do AMAZING work, it turned out great! Thank you for contributing to Tally Ho.
Thank you Jake. Looks great!
Great job. Awesomeness Extreme!
Just think about the travels and sights that part will see as it travels the world-WOW!
Thanks for that, I've thought exactly that each time i've made a bit or bob for that project. Good times :-)
So cool to see you working in the new shop with the slope roof. Workbench looks good there.
Thanks, it was good to get the floor in finally and be able to start filling it up:-)
Sent here by Leo and I am glad to have made the trip. Wonderful job Jake. Well done with the sheet metal, tube bending, and welding. So good to watch a craftsman such as yourself. Thanks for sharing.
I swear Jake, you must have a 10 40 Ft. Conex boxes to store all your speciality tools. Even more amazing, you utilize all of them as if you used them every day. Lots of years needed to acquire them. I hope you have a few offspring to pass on your knowledge and experience to. Cheers, Buddy and thanks for helping Leo out again!
Lol, not quite but if i ever assembled them all in a single area I would have a mess for sure:-) Good to see you on here again.
Great work Jake - here from Tally Ho.😀👍⛵️
Nice job. She'll see the world on Tally Ho.
Pretty great to see the confluence of you , Leo and Richard Micheal Owen making this hardware come together.
I’ve been following Tally-ho from the start and also following Richard as I have a serious e-type jag affliction.
Man Nick, what a great find of a channel Richard is! Good to see you here too:-)
Just one more jewel for the Tally Ho! Nice job Jake!
Just watched Leo's post of your efforts. Very nice all around Jake!
Really nice fab job here. Bet you wish the tube roller was motorized like the flat roller is. 😁 Thanks for sharing!
Haha, yeah me too. I have an adapter for the shaft to accept the harbor freight pipe threader and this would've been a good job to install it for:-)
Rock on
Jake you are a master. It was a pleasure to have your work in our shop :)
Thanks so much Richard, It was a great treat to be part of that episode with you and your dad Michael. What a fantastic world you have there. So cool!
Great stuff! I see that you also made the ingot molds for Tally Ho - somehow missed that at the time.
Subscribed!
Thanks for the sub, I also made the drip tray under the engine and the shower pan as well but this thing literally is the first part above the floor :-)
I enjoy watching you work, great job, I also enjoyed watching you build that house.
Thanks for checking it out!
Having experienced how tough heavy wall stainless tube can be to work with makes this even more impressive :) Nice to see you working inside the 'Folly' barn :)
Thanks paul, the more time I spend in there the more time I want to spend in there... had time for a flimsy temp door on it today, got plans for a real one:-)
Perfect timing!
Hail the algorithm!
#TallyHo!
😊
Thank you for your hard work! All Tally ho fun appreciate it!
had to pause the @sampsonboatco video to watch this first. Thanks for the video.
My pleasure, thanks!
Fantastic fab work
Nice job JAKE👍
Couldn't help but notice that you have a vintage car you're working on as well. Another filler project for when you have time. ??? not that I can imagine that you get a lot of spare time. Thanks for the diversity of your projects, just show cases your expertise. Keep them coming and Happy New Year from a senior Canadian.
That was an old, old friends shop Ron. We've been doing projects toghter for a long time. That restoration is an old Diamond T ton and a half truck. It's coming out fantastic. I had to use his roller since my wouldn't do 3/16" stainless:-)
Nice work Jake. I saw the end result on Leo's channel and had to come over here to see it in production.
Thanks Dan!
That tubing bender looks to be a excellent upper body exercise machine
Garrgh, that thing. I have an adaptor for the spindle that accepts the bigger harbor freight pipe threader to turn it with and this job would've been a FANTASTIC on to do the mod for:-)
✌️👨🏻🏭🇨🇦
That's quite an accumulation of tools and equipment you have. How long have you been in the business/
Well into my 4th decade of self employedness:-)
Leo sent me.🙂
One of the wonderful side effects of the TallyHo project is being exposed to so many great artisans
Nice rat, nice old car.
Warum ist hier kein deutscher Untertitel dabei?
What do you expect, just 10 minutes after the video was posted? Translations into all the languages spoken on this globe?
Entschuldigung, die Untertitel wurden nicht wie üblich automatisch generiert und ich hatte keine Zeit, sie manuell einzugeben. Du hast nicht viel verpasst, da ich sowieso meistens murmle:-)
