When they spoke about the pinky finger thing I just imagine some little kids doing a pinky promise and then someone running up to them and smacking them around the face
Remembrance Day was just a while ago and I was wondering if you could share Korea's experience with veterans and people of the military that may be different than Canada's or other countries?
Hey Simon and Martina, I was wondering if you guys can do a video about your thoughts on the fanwars and hate thats going on after SNSD's win at the YTMA and Exo's votes that was revealed at the EMA
I love that last sign with the pull down eye skin and stick out tongue. One of the anime that I watch, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, has a 5 yr old character Lambo...who is from Italy; who frequently does that to others. 5 yrs old, from Italy, and knows perfect Japanese? So is this gesture also one in Japan as well as Korea?
The nah ni nah ni boo boo was so funny, oh and I think that point to your open mouth is universal for "FEED ME!!!!" The second one that you talked about looked like a shaka. Hawaii, it =~ hey or hello
It's considered rude in Britain to do a backwards peace sign thingy (It's not that bad anymore but still a swear) And I find it kinda entertaining when I see a celebrity or someone do that pose in a picture without realizing they're flipping the entirety or England off.
I study abroad in england and i took a pic with my friend who was also from brazil and she did that sign, and one of our guides got really mad....that's how i know what it means, i remember i was sitting and shaking my feet and they called my attention but i dont remember what they said it meant
+Gumi Megpoid I Used to work in England as a barista (I am Italian) and always doing that sign when the price was like "2 pounds and..." lol At first I didn't know, when I learned it I just continued doing it just to see how customers would react lol Noone ever told me anything but if they did I could have just said "oh I am-a sorry mamma mia I did not know it sorry sir" mwahahahahah
lolol i know for a FACT that its just my family, but in my house the pinky wiggle means you have to (or you have) gone to the bathroom in a bad way...LOLOL right Tai Mi ??? ahahahahha
I have found that using an @username(only works if they have a G+ account) works well, at least that person will see it though it doesn't connect to their original comment. The only way I get the traditional reply link is through the email I get telling me I have a comment and clicking the reply box, but you get way too many fabulous comments for that to be an option!
The pinky finger gesture in England means that you have got pinky cramp from drinking too many cups of tea in a posh tea room. Because pointing your finger to the sky when drinking tea is the only way to politely drink tea.
@Whiterun Guard that's definitely not true lol I can say I have experienced, first hand (heh), what cramping feels like down the pinky and side of your hand and it's not fun
Hi simon and martina, I was wondering why is there so many "bromance" among kpop boygroups?? Is it real and why they are so touchy. Do you see thay kind of bromance in south korea in normal day in streets?? Please answer my question im curious about their bromance :DD love u~
basically, i'll tell you now: most kpop fans are teenage girls. they eat up that whole bromance shipping thing because omg two hot oppas. most groups actually admit they're not that close outside work. they only do it because they know the fans eat it up. also: i have a friend from korea who i hang out with occasionally. she and her sisters are very touchy-feely and always hook arms/hold hands with me while we're in public. they do it to each other a lot. however i'd say that it's not very common in every day south korea because homophobia is quite looked down upon, even if it's just a nice bromance. i think they overlook it with the girls because girls are just like that, i guess. hope i helped. :-)
Could you guys talk about Birthdays in Korea. Do people make a big deal about them? And also could you talk about how everyone ages at the same time at the end of the year?
in hungary wavinh your hand is a rude gesture. and i watched the reason why disney point with two fingers, its becuase in some countries, its a rude gesture to point with only one.
No, it's because he was a smoker, and that's how smokers hold cigarette's. Ellen Degeneres had Tom hanks on her show and he explained it because he played Walt Disney in Saving Mr. Banks
1. In France, the "pull down on your eye" thingy without pulling out your tongue means "Yeah, right" as in "I don't believe you". Or sometimes people just say "Mon oeil", which literally means "My eye". It's slightly impolite though, you should just use it among your friends. 2. An Australian friend of mine said that showing your pinky to somebody (without the wiggling) means "You have a small d*ck". :P
+RhythmAddictedState Aussie here, never heard of that one (maybe it's only used by a select group of people). I don't think we really use a lot of "non-universal" gestures here.
***** You're probably right, it might be used by a specific group of people only. I can't tell whether it's very common among Aussies or not. You might just have gestures commonly used in most English speaking countries here in Australia. :)
+RhythmAddictedState In Sydney it does mean 'that guy has a small d*ck' and there was even an anti speeding commercial that used the gesture to imply men who speed are compensating for you know what
I learned about the eye pull-down and tongue gesture through Digimon. I saw Mimi do in the "nani nani boo boo" context. Oh yeah, that brings me back...
I pull my dog's tongue too~Never thought anyone else did that though....always thought that i was a lousy, abusive owner for doing that....now i have partners in crime! Ha! XD
It's true. But mostly done with more tension in the hand, so the fingers are slightly hooked and not straight like a peace. You really won't get in trouble for using it unless you do it to someone really pissed off or drunk.
It's a rude gesture in the UK because when we were at war with the French in like the 1300's, if they captured any of our archers they would cut off their middle and index fingers so they could no longer use their weapons. So English archers used to do that gesture to the French to taunt them because they still had their fingers - that's what I was taught at school, anyway C:
flowerkid Thats true and i see Idols so it alot so sometimes I'm like why inst everyone commenting on that hand gesture but then I remember cultural differences
In Israel, but only as children, raising the thumb towards someone means you are angry with him (but you are still friends) and when you "handshake" with your pinkie it means you are both not angry anymore with each other, usually after a fight. But only as kids.
In Germany, the gesture with the thumb on you lips and the pinky finger up, not touching your forehead but at an close angle, means you are drinking booze. At least in my time as a teenager it meant that... I'm old.. XD
the pinkie wiggling thing reminds me of that ad in australia for speeding, like if a boy speeds to impress the girls but the girls wiggle this pinkie finger implying he's 'small'. couldn't help but make that connection, boy that cheats is actually really 'small'.
I have a TL;DR question, You know how in america there is prom, homecoming, Sadies, and other school dances in korea do they have them too like since they study almost 24/7 Do they have time to get ready got to the mall, makeup and stuff??? IS it for specific grades or is it like the whole school? Thanks
Hey S&M, where are your views towards Sasaengs? You guys once mentioned them in one of your videos, so can you guys tell us more about them since both of you are staying in Seoul? Can Sasaengs hurt other ordinary people and not necessarily idols?
heeeeeeeey simon and martina!!!! I want to ask about ANOREXIA and EATING DISORDERS in korea... I know, that asian people are slim because of their lifestyle and culture and bla bla bla... BUT!!! when I see a korean idol, I think about: arent they too much?? arent they anorexics? I never ever saw a picture of asian anorexic or heard about it... is it something in korea?? sending love from slovakia...
So out of curiosity I know that many K-Pop bands either promote overseas or have sub-groups that are popular outside of Korea, (Ex. Super Junior-M, F. T. Island, U-Kiss) but are there any bands that have come from other countries to promote in Korea that are popular? (Say any J-Pop or C-Pop bands)
The act odyssey liking your finger theno touching your nose is to imitate a cat. Why? Well, when your leg or arm falls asleep, korean people say they have a mouse in their leg and arm...and the cat scares it away
Hello Simon and Martina! I was watching some EXO videos and realized that a lot of the fans hide their faces whenever the camera's go towards them or they try to his away from being seen. Not just in EXO's videos, but a lot of other k-pop related fans too. Is there a reason for this? Are they not supposed to be doing it? They don't want to be caught by anyone. Hope you answer my question, thanks!
I have a question about Muslims in Korea, my cousin went to Korea a few months before and she covers her hair. She told me that people were very rude and gave her dirty looks and ignored her when she tried to talk. So I would like to know what is Korea's perspective of Muslims?
Dear Simon and Martina, What is your view on overly obsessed fans that stalk kpop idols? For example, recently someone hacked into eunhyuk's twitter account posting photos of the girl from Superstar K. Is there a ban or should there be a ban for it in Korea? (But i guess Fangurilla would be an exception ;) by the way, Simon are you going to dye your hair red again? XD
Can you talk about women equality in korea? Like when I see in korean reality shows, they normally let women do the easy tasks/missions, and let them off easy when it comes to work, from what i have seen. i was also wondering how people react to women in the military, forces, etc. AND!! the expectations of women (marriage, families, etc.)
Hi Simon and Martina! If my facts are right, there was one point in history when Korea was attacked by Japan, and for a period of time the Chinese troops were sent in to help (if i'm wrong then stop reading this comment and wow how embarrassing but anyways). My parents don't really like the fact that I like Japanese (second world war I think. I need to go to a history class okay don't judge.) and Korean culture and don't want to go there for vacation, however I was curious; what do Koreans think about Chinese and Japanese people? Do they have some sort of hatred deep inside because of the war in history? Can you tell me more about what they think about the history? Thanks!
Japanese occupation in early 1900s to end of WWII. Kdrama 'Chicago Typewriter' is abt the Youth Resistance Movement against brutally occupying Japanese forces.
Hi Nasty Family, Can you give us your thoughts on the issue of Sasaeng "Fandom" I don't know if you watch SNL Korea, but they did a parody on them. This was due to Exo sasaeng crashing the wedding of Baekhyun's brother. They have done way worse of course. Not to mention the ultimate "TVXQ's Sasaengs." Thank you for your hard work
Hey Simon and Martina! I would really like it if you guys could make a video about Korean age. On the SM Town official website it says that Sehun is 20 years old but I did the math and everything and I got 19, sometimes Jungook from BTS is sometimes 15 to 17 to sometimes 16. I really want to know why the age system is so weird, do they not know there own age? HELP ME PLEASE!!!!
Didn't know that Koreans pull they eyelid down and stick out their tongues; I thought that was only a Japanese thing. There is a name for that gesture in Japan, its called Akanbe.
Doing a backwards peace sign in Britain is basically flipping someone off and sticking up your pinky finger in Britain is basically the middle finger equivalent for good people who don't like swearing.
Wait, wait... So you're telling me that every time in a posh movie where the posh people are drinking tea and they flick their pinky out while drinking from the cup they're flipping off the other people in the room? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Once I saw Dara hitting her chin with the back of her hand because CL or Minzy was laughing at her, what does that mean? 'Be careful with what you say"? Or something like that?
Clarifying- I don't know what it means either. But, it sounds a bit like, "Keep going and you're gonna get smacked." Like you're miming the motion with your hand. Like shaking your fist at someone. (U.S.)
Not my country but I know in Iran a thumbs up is equivelant to the middle finger. In Colombia, holding the 'okay' gesture can be offesnive, depending on who you do it to, and the rock on gesture means your wife is being unfaithful.
in Germany when you pull your eye down it means something like: 'yeeeah, sure. ' in a sarcastic way. Like: "I'm gonna go and learn for the test after school for hours! *pulls eye* " :D
Are students allowed to wear any brand uniforms they want? Or the schools are the ones that supply every student their own uniform? If so, what's the use of Ivy Club? Is Ivy Club a store where certain type of schools sell their uniforms?
Hi, Simon and Martina. Could you please explain more about bromance in South Korea, as I know many westerners tend to find it gay. How come they see it as a normal thing? and are nen really touchy feely oh you so nasty to each other in public or is it something seen only in the KPOP world. Hana from London \(^-^)/
hey! i have a question (if someone can help me), in drama i noticed that the house and room are always clean, the bed are always clean... everything is ordely.. does the koreans love the housework? is it the same in real life ? are the koreans house always clean like this? or is it like that only in dramas? i hope you understand what i mean, if someone can answer to my question... thanks :)
I made the mistake of putting up the "Ok" hand gesture around a Venezuelan, and found out that hand signal means "I take it in the butt" there. I screamed. xDD
hellooooo i have a question, you guys always say Korea has changed or you have a feeling it's gonna change with certain laws or just simple things like culture or everyday things (etc), has anything changed since you have moved into Korea?
Simon and Martina for yoir next tl; dr could you explain high school in korea. I have noticed things im kdramas like you 18 and only in the second year of high school? What's that about? How does everything work because weren't you guys teachers once? Please explain to me ^-^
You tell us it's a bad hand gesture after you've left enough time for us to copy it AHAHA. I'm sorry mom, I'm sorry dad, I just did a bad hand gesture.
Well, this was hilariously informative! xD If I ever see a Korean dude making that gesture, I'll just shout: "STOP CHEATING ON YOUR GIRLFRIEND!" xD I have a question! I was reading an article, just a few moments ago actually, about child abandonment being a problem in South Korea, and a particular church that was trying to do something to help. So, my question is, Have you ever heard about/noticed anything having to do with this problem of babies being abandoned?? It's so sad!
Simon & Martina! What was your reaction when you first learnt that November 11th (Remembrance Day in Canada, GO CANADA!) is Peppero Day in Korea, and that the 11th isn't actually as sad as in Canada...?
Here in England (And probably the rest of the UK too) if you put your hand into a 'peace' sign and then turn it around - so the back of your hand is facing the person you're gesturing to - and then wave it towards you a couple of times like a 'come here' motion, that's pretty much our equivalent of raising a middle finger, though we do use that here too. Putting two fingers up is often done with both hands too. (So odd typing this out) ^^
Hello Simon and Martina!! i have a question. i know you guys dont have kids but im really into the thought of living in Korea and i was wondering since i Do have a child..do you know of any friends who work and have kids over there? Is there childcare like they have over here? k love you guys! kthanksbaii!
In Australia, if you hold up a pinkie at someone at wave it around it is an offensive sign meaning that you are not impressed with the antics of the other person. It literally means "this is the size of your... manhood." lol
EYK, I have a few questions. It seems Korea is really popular now. Have you noticed an increase of foreigners moving to/visiting Korea due to this? Also, how do you think the Korean people feel about this? Do they mind? Finally, do you think Korea is/will become more "Westernized" and lose it's roots in terms of their culture and so forth?
In Italy wiggling your pinky is a bad sign, it implies the size of their manhood is herm... not flattering lol and the eye thing without the tongue means the person you're referring to is sly, it can be positive or negative, generally negative though. Oh and the last sign Martina did, the "making a circle with your thumb and index" with the other fingers up in the air means "ok" "got it" "yeah"
In Korean dramas, they also always grab the nape of their neck when they are stressed/have a headache (?). What's the link? Neck ache during such situations? I never get how the neck is connected to anything.
In Sweden the eye thing is something you do when you don't care about something someone just told you. For example: - I got a new cat costume today! - * drags down eye* :)
Hey Simon and Martina! Is being chaebol or incredibly rich in Korea a really big deal? Are they really that exaggerated like those in dramas Boys over Flowers or Heirs?
In my country if you are mad at someone you make a fist and strike his face with it, we call it box or boneya. Seriously though if you want to tell someone "i am ignoring you and i don't give a fuck about u" you tab the back of your ear forward with your finger.
In Japan, the pinky finger one just means 'girlfriend' not usually in a bad way, people use it when you don't want to say it out loud. Sticking out your thumb means 'boyfriend'. But Martina, the circle you made with your thumb and index finger at 5:16 means 'condom' in Japan ^ ^;
Hellloooo Simon and Martina~ Now that there are alot of foreign people coming to korea and becoming idols in the kpop industry, how do the local people feel about that? Do they feel like theyre "intruding" their thing?... or just... nothing?
In Iran the 'thumbs up' gesture means fuck you lol. how much of a shock do you think I felt when I first moved out here and someone gave me a thumbs up for the first time?
Hey i watched a video that said koreans don't really think that teeth is a beauty and they don't really care about their teeth.....and that beauty is really about the eyes( double eyelid), thin, sharp nose and a v-shaped face. Is that true? If not what is really true?
i couldn't find the place to ask a question on your blog so im gonna ask here. I saw online recently that the korean government wants to regulate online gaming like drugs and alcohol and gambiling. Is this true? why would they do this? and how do you think it will affect the youth in korea, since i know that south korea is a big on online gaming.
Here in Belgium when we want to order a beer at the person behind the bar, at a place where there is a lot of noice, we put our pink up . I don't do that, I just yell at the person behind the bar xD But other people use it so when you see a guy putting up his pink, don't hit him !! xD
Ooh my mom is chinese and she said I should put spit on my forehead when my leg goes numb and the grossest thing ever is that she once smeared HER spit on my forehead and it was a lot of spit...
Martina should do a video were she recommends k-dramas and talks about her favourites because i really want to start watching some but i don't know where to start
When they spoke about the pinky finger thing I just imagine some little kids doing a pinky promise and then someone running up to them and smacking them around the face
LMAO That would be so funy XD
Remembrance Day was just a while ago and I was wondering if you could share Korea's experience with veterans and people of the military that may be different than Canada's or other countries?
Lolll I was just watching the "Simon's Cat" channel before this and his cat makes the same feed me gesture! XD
Hey Simon and Martina, I was wondering if you guys can do a video about your thoughts on the fanwars and hate thats going on after SNSD's win at the YTMA and Exo's votes that was revealed at the EMA
In Poland if you pull your eye you're saying something like: "i don't believe what you're saying"
same here in Belgium
Same in French :P
I LOVE YOU SIMON AND MARTINA! :D
Wow I loove your videos !!!! You cannot imagine how funny you guys are !! :D A Moroccan Fan :) :)
What about the importance of universities. Is it really that hard and is getting into one of the SKY universities, especially SNU, that hard?
The nah ni nah ni boo boo was so funny, oh and I think that point to your open mouth is universal for "FEED ME!!!!" The second one that you talked about looked like a shaka. Hawaii, it =~ hey or hello
I think the last one is very universal i think.. but I've never seen the others before!
I GREW UP WITH NANNI NANNI BOO BOO~~~ 8D I thought I'd never hear that again; kids these days don't say that anymore, do they? >D
It's funny about that second "I'm a scumbag" hand gesture. In Chinese sign language that means "suspicious" or "doubtful". How apropos. :)
In Bangladesh, showing your middle finger actually means 'Will you be my friend?' lol
The pinky is very similar to shrimp in American Sign Language
Yay! Best morning this week.. after having a night mare. :(
OH NOES! I'm sorry! I just had a nightmare too about Spudgy and Meemers being attacked by giant crocodiles. It was terrible. :(
In France, when someone is talking to you and you pull your "eye" down ( 4:43 ), it means that you know they're liying.
It's considered rude in Britain to do a backwards peace sign thingy (It's not that bad anymore but still a swear) And I find it kinda entertaining when I see a celebrity or someone do that pose in a picture without realizing they're flipping the entirety or England off.
Gumi Megpoid Same! PCY dose it quite alot on instagram and he's my bias and i find it funny lol
Gumiii (✪▽✪)
I study abroad in england and i took a pic with my friend who was also from brazil and she did that sign, and one of our guides got really mad....that's how i know what it means, i remember i was sitting and shaking my feet and they called my attention but i dont remember what they said it meant

+Gumi Megpoid can you please use Britain and not Britain and THEN england...
Thanks to the lovely people leaving comments. I wish we could respond to you, but the comment system is still broken :(
awww! It's okay ^~^ You guys continue to be awesome :)
pinky wiggles can be a promise or sexy time with fingers
lolol i know for a FACT that its just my family, but in my house the pinky wiggle means you have to (or you have) gone to the bathroom in a bad way...LOLOL

don't worry, we still love you ;p

The pinky finger gesture in England means that you have got pinky cramp from drinking too many cups of tea in a posh tea room.
Because pointing your finger to the sky when drinking tea is the only way to politely drink tea.
If you are as British as I am, you would not get a cramp in your pinky finger! Years of drinking tea with etiquette trains your finger! :P
that happens to me while holding my smartphone.. pinky hurts 8
YellingYaz xx
😂😂
@Whiterun Guard that's definitely not true lol I can say I have experienced, first hand (heh), what cramping feels like down the pinky and side of your hand and it's not fun
omg I laughed so hard when Martina just nonchalantly put up her middle finger at the beginning XD
I noticed (from watching Ouran host club) that the eye-pull-down apparently is popular in Japan too
I noticed from my Japanese friend doing it.
Yea I've seen it in a lot of anime too
Alice Tornberg that's generally for kids though, it's like the equivalent of blowing a raspberry lol
YEEES
in meditaerranean countries can mean FY--gross disrespect.
I've noticed the pull down the eye thing in some Anime, so it may be a thing in Japan as well.

Well, this is REALLY old but pointing a single finger at someone in America is considered really rude.
That should totally be the tagline for your company name
Eat Your Kimchi: Culture and stuff

Ah ouais ! Ça fait longtemps ce "mon oeil" XD
I learned about the eye pull-down and tongue gesture through Digimon. I saw Mimi do in the "nani nani boo boo" context. Oh yeah, that brings me back...
I love to place my finger in my cats mouth when he yawns
I pull my dog's tongue too~Never thought anyone else did that though....always thought that i was a lousy, abusive owner for doing that....now i have partners in crime! Ha! XD
i heard that in the UK if you make a peace sign but show the back of your hand, it's the equivalent of the middle finger.
It's true. But mostly done with more tension in the hand, so the fingers are slightly hooked and not straight like a peace. You really won't get in trouble for using it unless you do it to someone really pissed off or drunk.
Katelyn Vereen I've never heard of or recognised that distinction, and I live in the UK.
It's not really as strong as a middle finger, but yes. It's called the "Vickies"
It's a rude gesture in the UK because when we were at war with the French in like the 1300's, if they captured any of our archers they would cut off their middle and index fingers so they could no longer use their weapons. Uh.. When you're crossing the road in England we put our hand up at them to thank them. People probably do it in other countries too but yeah. :P
When I read the yhip yeyy I laughed because I thought of a full grown man in a business suit skipping across a busy road. Also, that dp. :D
***** People actually do that in Finland, at least here, where I live. But it's probably not that common in bigger cities
I live in a small town in North-Pirkanmaa^^ How about you, where do you live?
Haha okay^^ I don't know why we're talking in english tho..
So do we in Sweden! :D
In Israel, but only as children, raising the thumb towards someone means you are angry with him (but you are still friends) and when you "handshake" with your pinkie it means you are both not angry anymore with each other, usually after a fight. But only as kids.
Do you eventually grow out of the gesture or is there another reason you don't use it as adults?
But Israel is not real anyways so why does it matter☺️
In Germany, the gesture with the thumb on you lips and the pinky finger up, not touching your forehead but at an close angle, means you are drinking booze. At least in my time as a teenager it meant that... I'm old.. XD
Same in Belgium!
Yup, same in Slovenia. And I have seen people of all ages using it.
Nein, es meint immer noch dasselbe ^^ Ich bin nicht wirklich alt und kann bestätigen, dass das Zeichen noch verwendet wird ^^
CupcakeKingdom And same in Spain.
CupcakeKingdom America too
the pinkie wiggling thing reminds me of that ad in australia for speeding, like if a boy speeds to impress the girls but the girls wiggle this pinkie finger implying he's 'small'. couldn't help but make that connection, boy that cheats is actually really 'small'.
In France the eye-pull thing means "you're full of sh@%, I don't believe what you're saying."
same in Poland^^
I have a TL;DR question,
You know how in america there is prom, homecoming, Sadies, and other school dances in korea do they have them too like since they study almost 24/7 Do they have time to get ready got to the mall, makeup and stuff??? IS it for specific grades or is it like the whole school?
Thanks
I'm pretty sure they don't have prom or homecoming in korea..
They already did a tldr on that question
Hey S&M, where are your views towards Sasaengs? You guys once mentioned them in one of your videos, so can you guys tell us more about them since both of you are staying in Seoul? Can Sasaengs hurt other ordinary people and not necessarily idols?

Can you guys explain all the blood types in Korea and why they're so significant when picking boy/girlfriends :)
Hmm! I can't believe we haven't done this yet. Thanks for the suggestion!
So I don't have a laptop for a week and I get a reply from EYK :') Genuinely happy, thank you
+Nicole Chow oh my gosh, please do 🖐🏼
+Mina Begum they did it years ago lol
Alexis McDonough yeah thats a coincidence because i saw it shortly after but i just couldnt be bothered to delete that message haha :)
Wonder if in South Korea they have something like a wolf whistle/cat call like we have in America.
So I would like to know what is Korea's perspective of Muslims?
i would love to know too..hmm..
Dear Simon and Martina,
What is your view on overly obsessed fans that stalk kpop idols? For example, recently someone hacked into eunhyuk's twitter account posting photos of the girl from Superstar K. Is there a ban or should there be a ban for it in Korea? (But i guess Fangurilla would be an exception ;)
by the way, Simon are you going to dye your hair red again?
I would also like to know this. I watch Running Man and there have been times Song Ji Hyo has sat out on some missions.
yea!
In my country (America), if you put your pinky to the corner of your mouth and laugh diabolically, it means youre evil.
Hi Nasty Family,
Can you give us your thoughts on the issue of Sasaeng "Fandom"
I don't know if you watch SNL Korea, but they did a parody on them. This was due to Exo sasaeng crashing the wedding of Baekhyun's brother. They have done way worse of course. Not to mention the ultimate "TVXQ's Sasaengs."
Thank you for your hard work
Hey Simon and Martina!
Who is this Suzy that sometimes they talk about??
Nymeria Wolf She's our manager :D
Eat Your Kimchi
Oh ok, thank you so much for answering me. :D I had this question in my mind for quite a while. :P
Eat Your Kimchi 거짓말!! Lol.
Nymeria Wolf its soo zee
+Daniel Lee gojitmal means lies or lie.
Oh... In France, when you take you eye down with your finger it kinda means : " Yeah, I don't believe you ".

Didn't know that Koreans pull they eyelid down and stick out their tongues; I thought that was only a Japanese thing. There is a name for that gesture in Japan, its called Akanbe.
I haven't seen any Korean do it either. I'm Korean.
i remember seeing it heaps in sailor moon haha
Honestly while watching this all I can think about is, "What is Simon's skin care regimen?" Seriously I need to know Simon, please make a video.
EpicFailuresAreMine I'm not being funny the whole idea of british people drinking tea posh is bs we just down it like its water XD
Dear Simon and Martina
I would like to know what do you guys think about fanservice?
Thank you.
I screamed. xDD
Dear Simon and Martina,
What is Ulzzang and how does it affect the Korean fashion???
Nanny nanny boo boo hahaha. I can't stop laughing
We said 'NANNY-NANNY-BOO-BOO' when I was a kid. Your not alone on that one Martina.
the nanny nanny boo boo thing means in germany (more like in france but in germany too) I don't believe you
Kathi. K we have them here too in Singapore.. it's more like a taunt.. but still quite in line..
hellooooo i have a question, you guys always say Korea has changed or you have a feeling it's gonna change with certain laws or just simple things like culture or everyday things (etc), has anything changed since you have moved into Korea?
Simon and Martina for yoir next tl; dr could you explain high school in korea. I have noticed things im kdramas like you 18 and only in the second year of high school? What's that about? How does everything work because weren't you guys teachers once? Please explain to me ^-^
You tell us it's a bad hand gesture after you've left enough time for us to copy it AHAHA. I'm sorry mom, I'm sorry dad, I just did a bad hand gesture.
The second gesture for where I live means "Wanna get drunk?"
The pinky thing in Australia means that the guy has a small Ding Dong and she was not impressed.
Well, this was hilariously informative! xD If I ever see a Korean dude making that gesture, I'll just shout: "STOP CHEATING ON YOUR GIRLFRIEND!" xD
I have a question!
(So odd typing this out) ^^
that hand gesture seems rather sexual
babyface Aha, I can imagine why, but no, it's not meant that way
Hello Simon and Martina!! i have a question. i know you guys dont have kids but im really into the thought of living in Korea and i was wondering since i Do have a child..do you know of any friends who work and have kids over there? Is there childcare like they have over here? k love you guys! kthanksbaii!
Dear Simon and Martina!!
In the states, when girls are talking about a guy, and one of them wiggles her pinky, it means that he's small in the pants
That's what it means in Norway to :)
I am from the states (have lived in the north, south, east and west) and I have never heard of that before.
@@valeriew1159 might be new
In Australia, if you hold up a pinkie at someone at wave it around it is an offensive sign meaning that you are not impressed with the antics of the other person. It literally means "this is the size of your... manhood." lol
Usually best used toward people revving their car's at the stop lights!
I just noticed for the first time that "Spudgy´s" and "Shrek´s" Pinocchio´s voices are identical.
YES!!! omg, yes!
For example:
- I got a new cat costume today!
- * drags down eye*
:)
In Japan, the pinky finger one just means 'girlfriend' not usually in a bad way, people use it when you don't want to say it out loud. Sticking out your thumb means 'boyfriend'. But Martina, the circle you made with your thumb and index finger at 5:16 means 'condom' in Japan ^ ^;
In Brazil means "anus" or "boring" :)
Hellloooo Simon and Martina~
Now that there are alot of foreign people coming to korea and becoming idols in the kpop industry, how do the local people feel about that?
Usui Sama did that pull your eye down and stick your tongue out thing in Kaichou Wa Maid Sama :3
The gesture Martina used at 5:16 is American Sign Language for asshole. No joke.
Martina should do a video were she recommends k-dramas and talks about her favourites because i really want to start watching some but i don't know where to start
City Hunter is really good!!
In India or Nepal (where I'm from) showing ur pinkie means u need the toilet discreetly
+misteryace21 omg your profile pic! lol
GloGlo u also a jk fan?
yubb, was scrolling through the comments when in the corner of my eye I saw your profile pic, day made.
GloGlo oh ok XD u should have a look at jkfilms, they're amazing, trust me, you on't be disappointed
ok yeah, I'll check them out ^^
omg every time I watch one of your videos I feel like I have to keep my hands, my eyes and mouth to myself if I plan to go to Korea hahaha
