Got my tickets for London on day one of the presale. We saw the Dead Cat in London and it was one of my favourite nights out in years so I'm super excited for this one.
MARCUS: Hast thou room for custard? ZACARIAH: Oh... Thou spake not of custard. MARCUS: Is there none thoust love more than custard? Shall I prepare thine dish, stallion? BRODEN: Prepare the stables as thou doth, post-haste! This stallion shall have his mare then custard and be truly slumbering by noon!
What's really funny, and everyone seems to skip over is that the Shakespeare play was actually an adaptation of the famous ancient wall carvings from 10,000 years ago. The wall carving is called "yet still room for shrubs and berries"
I’m not sure if anyone else has noticed, but this reminds me of the comedy sketch “Always Room for Christmas Pud” by the Australian sketch comedy group, “Aunty Donna”.
No, no, no, this is a very common misconception. These are two completely independently created videos without any link to or deriving any inspiration from one another. I read this on Facebook
I was shocked - AGHAST I TELL YOU - that the recent documentary "The Story of Pud - A Tell All Documentary" did not even mention the original 1964 classic "Always Room for Panettone"! This mis-treatment of black-and-white cinema history is frankly disgusting. I expected better of Australian comedian Tony Martin.
I strongly suspect (hope) this was an intentional omission so that they could, as they say, "milk the pud" another year more. "Milk the Panettone", you could even say.
When Giovanni Pastrone developed the famous "Cabiria" tracking shot, he must have known he was laying the groundwork for something superior over a century later. In the mid 40s, a war-weary Italy developed the neorealist style, exemplified by Vittorio de Sica and his peers - their attempts at a gritty human truth were admirable. Rome, Open City; Bicycle Thieves; Nights of Cabiria...powerful stuff. But it all lacked something tangible. That something was sweet bread. That something was panettone. This...this is panettone. Ha ha. Panettone. Panettone.
It was worth learning Italian for seven years just so I can hear this traditional Italian Christmas comedy sketch in its original language. Bravo, Aunty Donna. Bravo, Panettone.
I agree although I don't think modern audiences could relate to a panetttone so they should maybe change it to something more familiar like a pudding of some sort.
I'm still not over the layers of _cinema_ here. The dub. The non-diagetic audio. The flies. "I was attacked by a crow". Legally distinct Jet (who are not American).
I've just discovered auntie donna, what an original idea for a video, I look forward to returning to this specifically this exact video every year to watch for Christmas.
Wow the last upload of 'always room for panettone' was almost 6 hours ago from today. I wish they would re-release soon it so modern audiences can enjoy it.
it's crazy because that panettone looks exactly like the panettone I gave the boys during their lastest live show. In fact, I am certain it is the very same panettone that I had given the boys, because I gave them that exact panettone the last time I saw them, which was at their latest live show, where I went out of my way to give these boys that panettone.
My in laws love panettone and hate silly things, so I shared this years new release with them. Suck it girls! 😂 ciao tutti! Io mangio una -mela- panettone! 🍞 🍰
In an abrupt reversal after omitting the plagiarism scandal surrounding “Always Room for Christmas Pud” from their recent documentary, Aunty Donna is now being accused of co-opting “Always Room for Panettone,” tacking a shameless plug for their live show “Drem” at the end of the original footage. Voters are left wondering: Is impeachment around the corner for Mark?
Where is Pud? I went looking for Pud, and could not find it. Pud is such a sensation, is it not available this year? Must I wait another year, for Pud?
This reminds me of the post war italian film "pannatone", which follows a man desperately searching for his stolen pannatone with his son as he needs it for his line of work

Do a show in the town of Drem, Scotland or you're fired.

I wish we had an option for the other audio track lol
Do I have to?
Panettone
Nobody likes to talk about it but everyone knows Always room for Panettone is an adaptation of the Shakespeare play Evermore Space for Trifle

Shakespeare milked Evermore Space for Trifle
I think these boys are milking Panettone
After all...there is always
Mungere il panatone adesso, ragazzi?
I'd appreciate if you didn't pud such a negative spin on this festive classic
How dare you? These accusations really hurt the guys you know
Beat me to it
I’m not sure if anyone else has noticed, but this reminds me of the comedy sketch “Always Room for Christmas Pud” by the Australian sketch comedy group, “Aunty Donna”.
Hard to believe, no one is attacked by a crow in Pud
I don't really see it.
Never heard of them

@@G4ngsta4l1f3Actually Aunty Donna have admitted plagiarism, it's a dark stain on the Australian comedy scene
"1 2 3, and 1 2 3 and 1 2 3, and a 1 2 3 come on!"
The whole video could be just that song parody and I'd be satisfied.
I need that on Spotify now 🤣
That classic song by Planes
Yes, by the Americano rock and roll band, Jet.
@trevorholland5032 Same, that was my fave part.
Thank you preserving this culturally significant film for all future generations.

This Panettone is familiar to me. I'm sure this is the very Panettone that you gifted us last year...
Who am I to judge though.
Bringing this back in 2024 is the definition of brave. 👏🏽 bravo 🇮🇹
It's 2025 bro.
My wife doesn't understand why my son and I laugh when she brings a Panettone home, but you all do
Panettone
Sounds like you need a divorce
Ah Ah Ah. Panettone.
@@Oosh21 Tu adore il panettone?
I don't understand why.
it seems like it was only today that it was reuploaded
Can't wait to show this to my grandchildren once it's re-uploaded decades from now

Panettone.
I can't listen to Jet without thinking of this masterpiece
It was worth learning Italian for seven years just so I can hear this traditional Italian Christmas comedy sketch in its original language.
Bravo, Aunty Donna. Bravo, Panettone.
Finalmente, il mio video preferito. Mia famiglia si riunisce ogni natalle per guardare questo film. Buonissimo.
next year should be a reupload with full colour restored
With a very bad sub with different actors each year 😂😂
Even better, garishly colourised and cropped for 4:3... optionally with SBS ad reels.
I agree although I don't think modern audiences could relate to a panetttone so they should maybe change it to something more familiar like a pudding of some sort.
Running this through one of the ai recolorizer tools would be wild.
I think colouring a very old film like this would be extremely difficult
Wow this AI upscale of such old footage is amazing. Peter Jackson did incredible work
You could never tell it's a year old
@@DanRichardsonthat's like 50 internet years
so proud of “the boys” for not milking pud
The funniest bit in the whole video is that the new "American Song" sounds like Jet...which is an Australian band...
Panettone instead of Pud re-upload? Such a Mark policy. I VOTED ZACK! ZACK AND PROUD!
do not fear my friend. aunty donna has announced on a community post that this shan’t interrupt the pud reupload.
I can't wait for Drem. The fact that they are gonna be doing a full 2 hour improv show on Ayahuasca is insane.
I'm still not over the layers of _cinema_ here. The dub. The non-diagetic audio. The flies. "I was attacked by a crow". Legally distinct Jet (who are not American).

Oh my word! This is incredible! Please we need a tell-all documentary about how this was made!
I got my best mate a bottle of rum and a box of panettone for his birthday. He loved it 😄😄 Aunty Donna FOREVER!!!!!! UNLIMITED RE UPS!!!!!
I never realised Jet's "Are you gonna be my Girl" was a cover 😱
Thanks for re-acknowledging this one, chaps. It really means a lot to us Panettone lovers out there. XOXO
Love the classics. There's no way this would get made these days
glad this underrated classic is getting its flowers finally, Fellini really was the best!
I feel like ive seen tbis somewhere before but something about this feels fresh, like a new twist on an old classic, hate you donna boys, keep it up
I'm so happy that this is included in the Criterion Collection.
Wow! You boys have outdone yourselves with this one!
I'm so proud of the boys showcasing the classics they rip off ❤
A refreshing take on a classic.
It's that time of the year again. 🎄💝
Dancing around to my fave song after having danced around a panetonne is what I needed to end the year
Bravi ragazzi. Grazie per le risate e buon Natale. Ho comprato io stesso il panettone quest'anno. É lo mangio anche. 😊
Panettone, Truly another masterpiece. Well done boys
For those concerned that the Panaettone is being milked, FEAR NOT for it hath no teats!
Don't even talk to me until I've had my re-upload.
I hope they make a documentary about the creation of this masterpiece in roughly five years time...
What a blessing.
My favorite Italian classic next to Italian Spiderman of course
Broden's leanback kills me every time.
Great to see such an innovative piece of content.
Frankly, I'm glad they're choosing to reupload after callously leaving it out of the documentary.
THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!
Wow the last upload of 'always room for panettone' was almost 6 hours ago from today. I wish they would re-release soon it so modern audiences can enjoy it.
What a brave and groundbreaking upload
Here we go again 😂🎉
I can't help but feel like this is parodying some genre of film I have no experience with.
That being said, what a perfect representation!
The world isn't ready for this..
i was expecting it, still wasnt ready.
Legit bought a panettone for Christmas dessert today because of this sketch.
Said it many times and i'll say it again, really happy they're not milking Pud this year.
It's really subtlety fresh.
One of the few times where the remake is better than the original
Mamma Nonna loves this film thank you
Truly a masterpiece
Hooray! Totally new panettone content!
The "cigarette burns" are a nice touch.

I bet these Italian guys would love some Christmas pud
Woohoooh! Six more years!
Ah Jet, my favourite American band
This new sketch is really good

You know, props to the original filmmakers for never milking Panettone.
Just threw one out two weeks ago from last year. Been eyeing em off at Aldi lately.
So fresh, so new.
another year, another delicious Panettone for us to share
Classic time of year, ty
Fuck yes, it's that time of year again
I send this to my friend every year after she gives me a mini Panettone.
Panettone, ah ah ah!
At last, some real comedy. They don’t make them like they used to
This reminds me of this pud sketch I watched once. That was hilarious
Va bene, ragazzi.
This feels like an outtake from Italian Spiderman.
Good, I was worried that they weren’t going to reupload it.
If I see one more skit about a dessert, I swear I’ll eat some panettone! I don’t care how many people tell me not to!
Ah yes my favorite American Christmas song Hippo Bells by Savage Garden
Masterpiece
* chuckles heartily in Italian *
Good. Very good.
Can’t believe mark and Braden learned Italian for this!
A few years until we get that documentary.
this makes so much more sense after watching pud
Cant wait for the documentary in 58 years
Where is Pud? I went looking for Pud, and could not find it. Pud is such a sensation, is it not available this year? Must I wait another year, for Pud?
Thank you, Aunty Donna, for have the courage and conviction to not milk Pud, and instead milk Panettone
Can you address the concerns that you're milking Panettone?
But it doesn't have nipples
The reuploads get better every year
This reminds me of the post war italian film "pannatone", which follows a man desperately searching for his stolen pannatone with his son as he needs it for his line of work
Personally I can't wait for the Panettone book.
There’s always room for royalty free JET
Next year I would like a 12 days of panetonne where panetonne is uploaded every day on the 12 days leading up to Christmas
