He was very eccentric and aloof but well meaning. He had quirks but always meant well until his alter-ego began to take form and shattered his psyche once he was pushed too far. Modern Day Writers keep forgetting Batman isn't about the edgy omnipotent rodent who hospitalized everyone he comes across. It's always been about a Broken Man trying to help those who are just as broken as him become better. Dick Grayson, Mr Freeze, Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy, Killer Croc. Ironically, The Riddler is often the best example for Batmans code. He has consistently turned his life around and recovered, often becoming a superhero who assists Batman. The issue is Comics being comics, there's always a reboot, a concussion, or Lazarus Pit to revert their character back to square one. Honestly? I love the 'Good' Nigma. Just found him to be entertaining, and liked him working with Batman to solve puzzles and cases.
Moments like these, make you think. If Batman’s rogues gallery discovered the existence of the Court of Owls, all the super villains would completely destroy them. Ra’s Al Gul would probably join in. Destroying the organization, so they never ever resurface. Why? The Owls are one of the big perpetrators that keep Gotham corrupt. They grow the garden that took the villains’ humanity. They’d kill the gardeners and burn the plants if they could.
One thing I like about Riddler in many portrayals is, not only could he have been successful if he wasn’t a villain, but he usually turns into a villain due to how others treat him, either affecting him mentally, or making him take rash action
