laptop's been acting up on me, I had it done yesterday but some clips needed to be fixed. 2009 Draft was impactful for the picks, The episode itself didn't hit as same as 2007 and 2008. What did you think of the 2009 Draft?

Yeah basically what you said and even though this was when the PG Era was ushered in, I’d still prefer the WWE Draft from this time than today but hopefully it’ll be better with Triple H.
Will you end up tackling the 2011 Draft? The one Draft when the Brand Extension was basically over.

@@rkovsstunner9906 even 🐐’s make bad decisions. The fact that Swagger was a World Champion and not Piper, Hall, Wade Barrett, & Shelton Benjamin weren’t is a sin against wrestling.
2009-2011 were tough times for me as a fan, just purely being spoiled off the Ruthless aggression era & then having to swallow the massive change of direction.

@@Osman-kv1vw it's strange, vince handled the transition into the ruthless aggression era pretty well, but so many guys around 2011 weren't properly invested in (it even took some convincing on bryan). Zack Ryder was wasted, more should've come out of Ziggler, MVP and Shelton. Cody and Drew had to leave to save themselves as well. Even Wade Barrett didn't amount to much and Vince got too fixated on the 1 or 2 guys at the top and Reigns

Technically in 2009 Vladimir Kozlov was a really good pick because he had recently beaten the Undertaker 1 on 1 and he was not a total joke yet.

I miss the original Drafts. There was a more investing interest seeing GMs on each brand, plus draft-picks weren't wasted like seeing someone on one show get "drafted" to the SAME show.
2009 was pretty much the last huge year for WWE, after that it just became so much smaller.
The 2009 draft was very fun as a kid. While it didn’t hit the same compared to previous years, there were some surprises and some good picks that made both Raw and SmackDown much better that year. Good one in my opinion.👍
The weird thing about the 2009 draft is that some of the people who got drafted the previous year was drafted again. Triple H, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk, Matt Hardy, and Kane

Evan Bourne was always underrated because of his size he was a great seller and very athletic bright something fresh to WWE during the early PG era and never received the credit he deserves I hate it been a fan of his since his debut

8:48 2009 edgy Create A Wrestler Miz is a weird one to look back at in retrospect.
Didn’t get the tights look yet, Skull Crushing Finale wasn’t even the primary finisher yet (the Reality Check Neckbreaker was his finisher), spends his initial months trying to get at John Cena only to lose and look like a washout in the process. It’s an interesting time.

The moment MVP were drafted to RAW, I immediately can tell that Rey Mysterio will be drafted to Smackdown along with the IC Title and can tell that the World Heavyweight Title would be exclusively on Smackdown once again after HHH drafted to RAW and brought the WWE TITLE with him while Maryse gonna brought her Divas Title to RAW when Melina brought the Women's Championship along with her to Smackdown (even though she's gonna be traded back to RAW not long after the Draft)
Strangely i only remember this by the rey/bourne match plus reading about how bourne had a small concussion on that spot with the barricade

2008 was better tbh but cm punk getting drafted to Smackdown was a blessing

If WWE wants to treat NXT like a 3rd brand I propose next 2024 WWE Draft there needs to be a SmackDown vs RAW vs NXT type video to it like let's get a Tri Branded battle royal vibe to it next year

I remember this 14 years ago. It was in Atlanta, Georgia when WWE had the 2009 draft on Monday Night Raw. Also, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas from the R&B TLC Singing Group, was in the audience along with her only son Tron by the way. Chilli and her son had took pictures with WWE wrestlers backstage before Raw.
