So who thinks this is the most peaceful spot I've visited yet and would you like to see more videos like this, focusing on natural sounds and the environment?
@@MrWildWales What's up with it? By the way, if you check out my 1st video, you will see more of the tent, especially what it looks like from the inside. I do a review early on in the video and then you see it from the inside when i wake up later on in the video. It's a brilliant tent and Lifesystems customer service are fantastic.
Vegetarian myself, but a few of my mates want to get involved with camping while we are out. It's the only spot I've seen LOADS of fish jumping out the water. Have a clip of it, but didn't include it as I thought it would be difficult to see. Thanks for the info though, will pass it on :D
Hi Monty, Channeling your inner Erik Normak there ? :-) I like the set up, whats the total weight of the tap and inner cot if you don't mind me asking ? Happy camping A
I think I've seen him, does he do a lot of minimalism? I've did that a few times and find it very rewarding and therapeutic like this trip, probably that massively influenced this being my most tranquil experience. It's a lifestyle I'm moving towards as I think possessions leads to stress. Sure. It's a DD superlight weighing at 460g. The tent is a Lifesystems Geonet weighing at 1.1kg. If you want to see how lightweight I can go, if you look on my channel I posted a little video about it. I managed to go lighter by purchasing a trekking pole inner tent, Big Agnes Third Degree sleeping mat, and an exceptionally lightweight and compact sleeping bag by Highlander.
I was hoping the natural sounds would allow people to experience therapeutic benefits and it seems to be working. How do you feel when minimal dialogue is included? But thanks for the comment and compliments, very much appreciated Dan. Hope all is well.
@@CampingDan85 I've got people asking for more. I think I'll alternate between the two depending on the environment as you said. Some videos are certainly less scenic and wouldn't go a miss with some gabbing, like the Loch Doon one. Thanks for the feedback.
I'm so coming back here in winter when it's all snowy. Perfect spot for it. There's many places like this in the Galloway Forest Park whenever you are up.
@@GeorginaMckimm Sadly not, Georgina. You can travel to England if you live in the south of Scotland to visit family, but you need to be back on that day. And will do! I was supposed to go to Cornwall too, is it Devon you are based in?

The midgies were fine here, think it helped there aren't any people around. However, in that general area, they are the worst. And I ain't exaggerating when I say they are the worst.
I've just spent an absolute bomb on them and waiting for them to arrive. Will do a review as well. Apparently they are very flexible, breathable, and offer insulation. Next up: down jacket! Any recommendations?
@@MontyOutdoors if you don't want to spend too much just go with decathlon's forclaz (www.decathlon.co.uk/m-down-jacket-trek-100-navy-id_8397296.html) I have it and consider it as a very good middle layer under windproofed / rainproofed light jacket.

@@angelaandreucci5880 I saw a baby cow get taken away from it's mummy and bundled into a van. The wee coo got up into the van and went round in circles and lay down. It's something that my dog does. @@MontyOutdoors Just wondered cos I didn't think anyone could until the 15th. 21 people were fined at Loch Lomond recently for making mess, camping in an area they weren't meant to and because they weren't supposed to be camping overnight either.
@@Shadow_Wraith Police are permitting camping for as long as it's done responsibly and low numbers. Couldn't care less what government guidance are if it's unjust. But government guidelines say you can social distance and self isolate - wild camping which is self catering? Ridiculous. Good to see the police apply common sense.
