On Stephan A Smith his dad said that they didn’t tell him how much the NIL deals were worth so money wouldn’t be a factor. Also, 3 out of 4 schools offered the same amount of $5 million and the extra $2 million are endorsements which he would have gotten anywhere. Kevin Young is the biggest reason he’s going there. He built trust and BYU has brought in as of this year more 4-5 star recruits than they have ever done in combined years prior. Pretty crazy the work he has been able to do on the recruiting front. Egor Demin from Russia is also expected to be a lottery pick next year and is only 18 years old.
Corrections: 1) AJ grew up in Massachusetts. 2) AJ is 17 now. 3) AJ was offered the same $ or more at several schools. 4) He -- with help from his parents -- chose BYU for variables other than $ (K State & other schools offered more $). You may not like it. But let AJ speak for himself. No staff in the country is like BYU. Others will eventually catch up, but for now Kevin Young is looking unique in the world of college BB.
@0:18 So disrespectful whoever said his last name like that…🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️ all you gotta do is watch ONE video & you’ll know how to pronounce his last name …
Kid's 17. If he was 19, I think he would be in the NBA already. This isn't the NCAA's fault though. This is the NBA's fault for the one and done rule because it's clear he would have declared for the draft as early as humanly possible. Using this to cry about the how the NCAA does anything is disingenuous and just plain stupid... Rob.
They should not let them go right away. The NBA is already suffering from lack of product interest. You're getting money in college take that year. It's a lot of money you can get by being a college standout.
These kids relying on a sport in life is horrible. One bad injury and your career is in it before you make it to the NBA..... let me go holler make your money and have a backup plan. Some guys fall into a deep depression just because they didn't make it to the NFL or NBA
People sleeping on money in Utah. The Church of LDS has an ‘endowment’ in the billions of dollars. BYU has money, trust
Mitt Romney out here funding them players 😭
All private universities have large endowments. Now can you tell us WHY?
The Church is not funding the athletic program! Big $$ coming from donors who want to raise the presence of BYU in college sports!
lol
AJ is a STUD!
Kevin tellin his kids “if you don’t sit yo butt down somewhere @1:15 - @1:20
That's hilarious!!! Kelvin, a real one for that 🤣🤣🤣
He’s from Massachusetts and is 17. Do some basic research, guys.
He’s 17 and from Boston. Not 19
The slander against Utah is absurd. Come on now. Utah is a great state!
Legend from Brockton mass
Yeah at this point, NBA should remove the 1 year in college rule
Current Nba players have no incentive to vote for that.

I hope he gets so good that people are forced to pronounce his name correctly smh
He’s 17 yo not 19
That’s what I thought
They even pronounced his name wrong lol.
Darryn Peterson will be the best NBA player from 2026 draft.
The nba players want to prolong their careers especially those fringe veterans.
get your money-period.

How is it a money grab going to byu when the others schools have the money to?
Probably more NBA players from Butler than BYU.
All of these kids are professionals because they all getting paid and rightfully so.
Who cares about athletes getting paid or not it doesn't effect your pockets
You out the wrong letter in front of one of your words.
he has 17 😂
He is 17
Why are we holding professionals back? If they're good enough they should be able to play for a professional league.
It’s funny that
You blamed Juan Soto for going to the Mets instead of the Yankees 🤔SMH
AJ told Stephen A. he believes MJ is the G.O.A.T.
Never saw MJ play in his life
@@sbmay1111 He saw The Last Dance.
Wed all do the same if given a chance

Why? Fun fact: 95% of NCAA athletic programs do not make any profit. So these guys are getting charity money to play a game barely anyone watches
