I am going to be introducing Brandi Carlile to my son Christopher today. The "Joker" has special meaning to me about my son.
Her voice is beyond legendary. You run out of superlatives trying to quantify all of the grammatical and vocal descriptors to what she possesses. When you hear someone's voice and keep getting goosebumps years after you first heard their voice, that is beyond generational.
That first chorus especially is like a punch in the gut everytime. Its one of those songs you wish you'd written yourself

God they need to record this song together, it would be amazing...this song brings me to tears every time I hear it, it means so much to me...I was bullied so violently in school that I now have PTSD, I work as a film actor and have moved on but I'm still haunted by it. But this song really helps when I listen to it.
I sincerely hope you have developed more love for yourself ❤️ in your healing process of recovery from all the harshness that you endured. My son was also bullied by his so called "friends" and still is in a relationship that is not working out for him. Sad.

Two of my most favourite humans in the world both have carried me daily through the pain of losing my husband of 27 fun loved filled years who died in my arms..these two have soothed my soul continuously.

It's a sunday morning at 9am, I have a bed head on me with a tear in my eye, not of sadness but of joy, I celebrated my 2nd wedding anniversary yesterday, went for dinner with my husband last night and we are 17 years together in two more months.. I feel it's a phase you need to go through when you're lesbian and feel apart from the mainstream, that you belong to a group, too.
But, all individual struggles over and done with, it's folksy and I love it. This is not lesbian culture. Sexuality has nothing to do with this.

You at least have a feeling of _belonging_ to a minority group. A few places where you feel safe, where you're addressed directly. You don't get how lucky you are to belong. For your unhappy, alienated feeling to have a name. This victim card you're carrying is not doing you or anyone else good. You're not aware your carrying it, and that's ok.
