    Honestly I’m just gutted we got robbed of seeing Miyazano’s strategy play out to the end - was very smart getting off the hards right away and running the car as light as possible for as long as possible, while still having enough fuel to push at the final stint

    It is a dirty move to lift off when you should and can be going full throttle. Fraga knew he was a sitting duck and parked it in front of Hizal. Fraga was the faster driver all day and would've gotten back past Hizal with the slipstream and fuel later on. The move was unnecessary. Which is probably why Hizal is upset. Fraga could've certainly raced more respectfully. Question is...is Fraga that aggressive when racing for real? Because he could get himself or somebody else seriously injured doing things like that.

    I believe that the OP slipstream in the game (recently increased) contributed to the incident/s, as it requires the lead driver to implement strategies to mitigate against the chasing car closing in more than it would in reality.
    Modelling how air impacts the cars in the game is not yet optimal. I guess it is difficult to programme this aspect.

    • @alimusamamman3267
      @alimusamamman3267 5 лет назад +6

      Good. I'm not the only one who realizes that the overtaking incident was caused by the unrealistic slipstream. As far as I am concerned, Fraga did an outstanding move going into the slipstream and slingshoting past Hizal. I mean, I canr even understand how people are even arguing about it being illegal, when Fraga just used what was available to him there and then, and which, unfortunately for Hizal, was GT Sport Slipstream. I just can't help but laugh at people arguing the move was illegal when the slipstream is what should be talked about and revised

      @@alimusamamman3267 That's my problem with pro gran turismo races. There are a bunch of things you can do and get away with which are unrealistic. Racing is a lot of fun in GT S but if I race in these championships I want a "clean" race, which means I don't want people jumping over 10 foot curbs with F1 cars, I want it to be realistic both in terms of mechanics but also strategies. It's not "clever" game mechanics if falling back and following the leader is the best strategy to win, and it's not "clever" to use that as a "strategy", in my opinion that's a bug and people using it to their advantage are bug-using. The game should make you plan your strategy and it does as far as pit stops etc. go, but there are also plenty of unrealistic aspects about it. It's a large grey area but like I said many strategies aren't "clean" or at least not realistic. The best battles are realistic ones.

      @alimusamamman3267 5 лет назад +1

      @@herberthans7015 I agree with most of what u said. But here is the thing... The slipstream isn't a bug. It's a part of the game mechanics, and Fraga simply used whatever advantage he could use to win that specific encounter. He didn't do anything dirty, didn't send Hizal to the shadow realm. He just used the unrealistic slipstream to his advantage.

    • @herberthans7015
      @herberthans7015 5 лет назад

      @@alimusamamman3267 Yeah I'm not saying he cheated and buguse is a strong word. Like I said it's a grey area. Of course the champion is going to abuse the hell out of every single aspect of the game mechanics and he's not cheating f.e. there was a break boosting bug you could use to accelerate faster which is an entirely different thing that's plain cheating, I don't think anyone would try that in the tournament though. However using unrealistic tactics because the game is unrealistic is no excuse, his only excuse is that he wants to win. If winning is more important than having clean, fun races then there's something wrong with the game. This reminds me of playing battlefield online, they introduced overpowered weapons and almost every pro was using them, it completely ruined the game because these weapons weren't just overpowered but broken, but these weapons technically were features not bugs. So you don't need bugs to completely ruin a game, you just need bad game mechanics or "features" that people can or have to abuse. Once everyone (ab)uses the unrealistic feature/bug it's a massive issue and it spreads like HIV because everyone wants to win. The main things GT has to get right is realism and fun, and the slipstream fails both, it might be a fun feature but not at the pro level, it turns out to be a bug there. It sure is a grey zone and it's not cheating, calling it a bug might not be accurate either, but if you simply consider wether or not it contributes to the fun-factor and realism of the game you can quickly figure out what's seriously wrong and what's fine.

If you just lift off the throttle in these x2019 cars the car decelarates harder than your normal car can do if you press the brakes as hard as you can because of the drag and downforce (if you are even old enough to drive lol).
      There is a clear fia rule about this kind of dangerous driving and fraga should have been penalized twice for it. Moving out and letting people go and then repassing them is fine but if you brake check them that should be a penalty. Of course as always the stewards are most of the time blind cowards just like in f1 and penalties are given with only one single goal in mind. To keep the results as is to appease the lowest common denominator fans like alex_fastlane...
      Allowing this kind of dirty driving will only lead to more crashes. If you are allowed to brake check then we will see a lot more it in future. Of course there are always fans who like dirty driving but at that point it is no longer about driving skills. It is about driving into other cars.

      Back to topic:
      Fraga did not brake check. He's been trying to break the momentum of Hizal, a common defense method in racing.
      But the slipstream is probably even stronger here than irl. That's why the timing did not quite fit. Now that I've looked at the scene many times, I have to admit that Fraga may have exaggerated it.

      Not to mention, if you hug the inside to avoid the cutback you can't go back on the power as quickly as if you had taken a normal line, because if you did you'd either spin out or go wide and create a gap between you and the apex.

Use that anger to keep fighting or cool it and keep the pace. But the penalty was bs as well and that 5 sec penalty is as bad as running into the wall where running aiming off the road is easy 10 to 15 sec and if they want to make this more realistic could have been worse but as many have mentioned, sometimes they just let it go and let them race on with no penalty. The 5 second penalty didn’t matter in the end because Hizal had to save fuel. He was not a “quitter” as many of you are saying, underfueled to keep in front of Cody and used it trying to pass Fraga. Fraga lifted through a flat out kink, ruining Hizal’s only chance at an overtake that lap due to the effect of dirty air on the car. By the end of the lap he was out of slipstream and forced to save fuel, so at the very least he was locked into the finals. Because of that he fell back to be safe, and the 5 second penalty didn’t matter because of it. If he had gotten past, he could have saved fuel and maintained his gap due to dirty air, but instead he was forced to give up any chance of a win. Completely dirty move by Fraga, unacceptable for a series so desperate to be taken seriously. If he were given that 5 second penalty during the race, the podium may have looked different. It's the top elite racer in a major tournament who set the example for up coming racers, plus there the place to become a real life racer, standards are what need to be seen,, yes some might call hizal petty but fraga knows the limits, the game, the track and fair play,, simple it was dirty and not needed,, he's a top racer fraga is and full credit to his driving ability but still,,, in this race he should of been cleaner,, yes alot is at stake but its better to win clean and fair play then to do silly things,, plus it not like he was racing for place in the top tournament he had already got his place,,, certainly going to heated between these two now

    Igor would have lost if he didn't pull that dirty stunt. I'm not a fan of either of them so my opinion isn't biased. It feels like Igor is the FIA golden child at the moment and the 5 second penalty was a smack on the wrist. It deserved a 10 second penalty, same as Cody's, or at the very worst they should have disqualified Igor for unsportsmanlike behavior, to set an example that dirty tricks like these will not be tolerated in these events.

    • @_Vino.
      @_Vino. 5 лет назад +1

      No way. The penalty cant be the same as the cody did to Mia.
      1)Cody ruined the race of the japonese driver. He was the best driver there and his race was ruined. He had real chances to be the winner.
      2) Hizal btw, after all this could win if he didnt gave up. If he keep fighitng the Igor's penalty of 5s could help him. But Hizal gave up and used the excuse of fuel etc, so bad lucky for him. He had chances.
      3)Igor still could win if he ddint did that move against Hizal. He was way faster than Hizal and Hizal was going to be out of fuel anyway, so Igor could catch him again with a lil more difficult but still could get Hizal.
      dont think that Igor is the tottaly bad guy here. He just made this final more epic, cause he could win anyway.
      Mia was the faster driver and who had more chances to win.
      Hizal dont. He made an good race, but withou any risks, without being agressive etc. And If he attacked back Igor, who knows what could happen? Well, he gave up. Was a decision of him and cost him the victory.

    • @983Legend
      @983Legend 5 лет назад +1

      @@_Vino. I'm judging both the incidents individually, Cody blocked the Japanese driver (albeit at a slower speed), the Japanese couldn't take evasive action and subsequently his race was ruined. Igor blocked TRL, forcing TRL to take evasive action by braking, ruining his race. I will fault Hizal for giving up too easily and that's all on him. Had Igor not pulled off that dirty move, TRL would have sped away into the distance because he was on the faster tyre before he had to start fuel saving. Igor would not have caught him without the aid of a slipstream. Hence it should have been 10 second penalties for both incidents because if TRL didn't brake, there would have been an collision. Well the next race is going to be epic and I hope that TRL sticks to his word and drives and defends more aggressively.

      Hizal never had the fuel. The only reason he was near Fraga was because he under fuelled. So no, he wouldn't have won it. And neither was his move unsportsmanlike, it's a strategy used endless times at spa in real life. It was a tad over aggressive but that's what these finals are all about. To carry it in the same bracket at Latkovskis murdering of Miyazono is just silly.

    If you ask me, I don't think the penalty fits the crime... And usually when that is said, it's usually in the context of the penalty being too severe.
    In this case, it's the other way around. Fraga's on-track behaviour was deemed 'dangerous driving,' and yet they only penalized him with 5 seconds? That should have been 10! (If it was 'careless driving,' then 5 would be justified.)
    Personally, I think Fraga should either be stripped of his automatic qualification for the World Final in Monaco, or be told not to compete in Salzsburg. And even if you think THAT'S too severe, it really doesn't matter; this is NOT a good look for him. I will openly admit that Fraga is a gun driver, but stuff like this just make me lose respect for him.
    I won't be surprised if Fraga gets booed at the next event he attends... (And equally won't be surprised if it doesn't happen - either outcome is to be expected.)
