thank you for going through the trouble to put this procedure on video, very much appreciated! Somebody drove our Honda Accord out of the garage while the door was not completely open yet, now Dad is trying how to replace the antenna. All good!
I replaced the Anten using your instructions. Finished the entire project n 45 minutes. The radio started working again. Thank you. $35 for new Antena from dealer and $139 for diagnosis.
Great Video -- worked to the T with my 2014 EXL-V6. $35 for the OEM antenna and 45 minutes later -- XM Radio working again. Thanks !
Thanks for this! I am going to assume the principles apply to the Honda Civic as well! Great video, very concise and clear.
I just released a video for the 10th gen civic. You can find it here ---- ruclips.net/video/Uzi5JbRcJdI/видео.html
Thanks so much for this great DIY video! Great instruction. For the pice of the replacement antenna plus shipping and a clip tool I was able to get my XM on a 2014 Accord V6 working again for a fraction of the dealers and a car stereo shop’s quoted price! 🌝👏👍
Great video! Thank you! (just so people know... I had an issue with my XM radio showing “no signal” on my 2016 Accord touring, ordered the antenna, replaced it and it took care of that problem)thanks again.
Just to clarify, because my 2015 honda accord is having the exact error for xm radio. You did this exact process and removed & replaced the "fin"? Please advise me. Ty
Was the process easy? I’m having the exact issue with my SiriusXM radio showing “no
Signal” on my 2016 Accord EX.
Love Your videos
Awesome! Also worked for my 2013 Acura TSX
Just did this! My XM radio works again! I paid $35 for the antanna and $10 for shipping.
Thanks for the video. I haven't tried the process yet but the XM in my 2015 Accord EX-L V6 stopped working about a month ago.
Took it to the dealer today and they quoted me $527 (including $90 diagnostic fee) for fixing my XM radio! 😲
What symptoms were you having and did replacing the antenna fix it? I'm trying to troubleshoot a SiriusXM issue where audio works for a while and then stops. "No signal" is the most common message but other times it says something about the antenna.
@@JeffMelia - I was getting "no signal" with XM Radio. I did replace the antenna and it fixed the issue. I didn't go through the dealership. I found a replacement antenna on eBay and then had a friend help me install it.
It fixed the issue but then a few months after that I cancelled my XM Radio and just stream via bluetooth.
@@accordracin96 Thank you for the reply. I'm going to try replacing the antenna as my first step. Hopefully that's all it takes.
Great video! Do you know if a 2016 Honda Accord sport is pre-wired for a XM antenna? I would like to add XM radio to my car with the factory look, I would hope Honda wired all these the same, Thank you.
Awesome video, can you do a 2018 Honda Accord please
I tried to replace new antenna base to my Honda as well but the new one won’t seal tight the the roof. (Oem parts) do you have any suggestion?
Is this similar to the new 2018 honda accord sport?
Could you make a video how to replace Driver side handle(lock assembly if possible)? Mine is broken, dealer would charge a lot, trying to save on it...Thank you!
So same thing for a coupe? But just without the clips?
Thank you for the great video. I just came from the dealership as my XM radio no loner works and they quoted me $600 to remove the headliner and then “assess” the antenna. Would this video also work for the 2009 Honda Accord? Also, do I ask for the sharkfin antenna at the parts department or is it called something else and are there any other parts that are needed? Thank you again.
I have a 2015 accord coupe! Any idea on how to approach my car? The headliner is put together much differently than the sedan.
There are no back clips, and not back OS handles.
Thanks!
You ever figure it out?
I’m hoping the 8.5 gen accords are the same??
Great stuff right here… 👍👍
Much appreciated!
Thanks 👍
Is this the same for a 2018?
Awesome and very helpful video. My system was working intermittently. Once i took my liner loose, i believe the bolt that holds the antenna to the body was a bit loose and may have been causing my intermittent service. However since i had a new one in place i decided to use the new one. May be work checking to see if the bolt is look, affecting the ground, in turn affecting the signal and may save yourself $40 on a new antenna. Thanks again for the great video and was definitely a life saver from having to figure it all out on my own.
Glad I could help! 🤙🏽
Is that an XM antenna, AM/FM or both?
Do you have one on how to remove the antenna on a 2016+ civic si coupe?
It may be a little different, but here is one for the Sedan. You can find it here ---- ruclips.net/video/Uzi5JbRcJdI/видео.html
At the end did some of the clear coat come off when you pulled the antenna off the roof?
No
No, he straight scratched the fuck outta the roof.
2012 civic. Rear clips on headliner are not exposed. Slide hand under back of HL and pull down. 2 clips LF RT
How can one remove headliner on a 2014 Accord Coupe? I need to get it off for DIY roof wrap
You figure it out?
Blow torch
Changing the antina is much harder than changing the alternator, sparkplug, fuel filter,,,
My local Hoda dealer wants $1090 for parts and labor to replace XM Antenna including $139 for diagnosis. He already diagnosed the problem by connecting another Antenna to traced the problem with the Antenna. 4 hours labor + Parts (Antenna and Lead) $139 Diagnosis cost.
would this work on a 2017 honda civic?
Its pretty similar, Im working on getting a video made for the Civic.
DIYHonda is there a video for the Honda Civic
Excellent instruction. I think we would really appreciate your concise tutorial abilities if you could manage something a little more complicated like how to remove and rebuild a power steering rack.
Thank you :D
I didnt need a ratchet, like it came off with my fingers after a slight turn
Mine leaks through when I go to a car wash... does anyone else's?
Now to watch this in reverse for re-installation
Would u happen to know if I’d need to replace the entire antenna if the top (shark fin) is the only thing missing?
I came here cause I like shark antennas but I realized my ‘16 accord doesn’t have one 😭
Anyone know if I’d need to replace the entire thing if the shark fin is the only thing that got knocked off? I still get radio but lost Sirius radio when it happened.
