Hearing about these hand me downs really fills my heart because it's always just so beautiful being able to hear or know that someone is still able to connect with their loved ones with a physical object, keep up the great work tay.
Pentel Kerry is my daily mechanical pencil, it has a cap that protects me from jabbing myself with the sharp tip, I wish some companies would make a pencil with a cap like it, so far I have only found the Pentel Kerry and another brand called Tombow Zoom, I prefer the Pentel because it's smaller with the cap covering the tip and the eraser on the Pentel is easier to get access to when writing.....I would be very interested in others with a removable cap, especially copper, bronze, or black that were made more like some of Big Idea Design pens
Yes Orient watches are damn good for the price. The TriStar collection is a group of Damn good mechanical watches for about $130. As a whole their watches mostly average $150-$300 but you get a whole lot for your dollar. Plus there's a crapload of designs to choose, from diver's to vintage styles.
Awesome to hear about your grandfather I’m the same with mine he bought me my first camera and has helped me do some knife maintenance such a great thing to connect over
If you are down for modifying your stuff most space pens are brass construction, same with zippos so you can just sand off the coating and you have a brass pen and it looks cool. I did that with my chrome space pen that i bought before i knew what I wanted and it’s great.
I just got some of my first EDC gear in the last month or so. I have a carry that would fit perfect in this vid. I’m in love with my green baby banter 😍
Love my allox minichamp. I get so much use out of it despite its tiny size. One of my favorite items to make your carry less bulky in the pocket. Well worth its price tag
I watch alot of these EDC videos and I have to say they are great, but I have never seen any for US visually challenged. Personally, I have to have a pair of reading glasses NO matter what. The pair I have with my EDC is a pair Foster Grant foldable reading glasses that fold into a zippo sized glass case. It would be nice to see an episode on the something different than the usual EDC.
My favorite fixed blade in the $50 range is easily the CRKT minimalist. You can get them in the $30's, they are small but comfy in the hand, and very durable. Both in terms of blade strength and edge retention. They are small but very comfortable to hold, and they have a variety of blades available. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think CRKT gets nearly enough love. Especially for the budget minded EDC peeps.
I absolutely love my minimalist clever, (and plan on getting the other blade styles) like you said small but comfy. I neck carrie mine and forget it's even there sometimes lol. Perfect for EDC or out in the woods as a small tasks or backup blade. I also own the S.P.E.W which is a great option.
@@pyrosmoak53 I currently have the Bowie but I want the clever for sure. They are an amazing value. I wear mine on the belt but will usually neck carry while fishing or hiking. I love it. Not familiar with the S.P.E.W but will absolutely be using google after this post 😂
The FWAA is the best 14500 light, imo. I either carry one of my numerous D4v2’s, a RovyVon, or the FWAA. Plus, the FWAA can be optioned with different emitter options. SST20 4000k is my choice, tho
A really nice affordable pocket friendly mechanical pencil is the Kerry Pentel. Compact light weight quality construction. The latest Orient Triton is quite the watch with a sapphire crystal and in house movement. Very affordable new and shouldn't disappoint.
Olight now has a rechargeable version of the i5t known as the i5r. it uses a rechargeable battery that you charge outside the light but can also use a standard AA
They do, but it’s like 6000-6500k cool white. And maxes out at about 350 lumens. The Lumintop can have just about any led you want and uses lithium rechargeable as well. It also runs Anduril 2, so it can auto lockout, battery check, ramping or stepped, candle mode, turbo, etc etc. I have a couple i5r’s I’m just going to sell at this point. The simple low/high can be nice, but it just doesn’t get pocket time for me.
@@thomasbechard I love my i5r due to the simplicity of it, but I see what you're saying. That's why there are so many options out there. We all have our preferences. You have me interested in the Lumintop though. Now I have something else to spend money on lololol
For the 14500 with good tint, get a convoy T2 with the 219b 4500k emitter. The tint is absolutely gorgeous. Its a little big for a 14500 light but I love it.
Convoy is totally underrated, literally so many options to customize and pick from. I know there has to be a AA or a 14500 variant with a good emitter suggestion. For the price too? Total steal in general.
I love these videos. I'm poor with two kids and private school and really expensive stuff that I like and not in the to-do list. I like the look of the stuff you have but needed on a budget. Lumin top makes a good flashlight for around $30-$50. 650 to a 1000 lumens with a tail switch and is pretty good. And rechargeable USB AA battery
Paused the video at 1:24 to go order my slingshot. I've had a few in various watch lists for literally years and I figured, if it's good enough for you Taylor, it's going to be good enough for me. Now for the big question. Replacement rubbers and can we just get standard off the shelf replacements? Cheers! Zip~
Taylor, great vid. I'm a gear guy but a bigger watch guy. Your watch is a perfect fit and look on you. It catches my eye on every camera shot and it looks natural on you. Keep rockin' it.
I'm not sure if anyone has said in the comments I didn't see any, but the dapper designs ION flashlight is titanium not stainless, at least the one I know of is titanium, and it's about 60$ they may have a stainless variant though
14:34 Hey Taylor, what about the Streamlight Macrostream? I don't know the tint but it checks all the other boxes pretty well 👌 Great vid as always, thanks.
That's the pouch I use! Love being able to use my torch without taking it out the pouch. Had it for about a year now, it's good quality leather. Wasn't cheap for me though haha I had to pay as much for shipping to the UK! Saw it in the Lock Picking Lawyers edc video
Already said below, but Lumintop FWAA is an easy win. Tons of emitter options at $45. I have one in copper and carry it more than anything. Basically stopped carrying olights except on my keychain.
Just found your site. I will definitely be checking out Worn Socks and it is so cool that you linked to the Damasko watch on Long Island Watch. Marc is a great guy and his company is second to none in terms of doing business.
Paused again to say, i really like your comment of " no safe queens." ...although I have some. AND I'm impressed with your ability to add. I used to have that ability,,,,,before I bounced my face off the asphalt
Just so you know the tactile turn pencil does not hold up in the cabinet shop. Otherwise its nice for everyday use. They use schmitt inserts and I'm lucky to keep it working for a week in the shop
Just picked up some Everyman pens. A twist in brass and a click in their green color. I like them and think I got my money's worth. I imagine their mechanical pencils will be equally good. If that helps.
For the 14500 flashlight have a look at the Skilhunt E2A. Comes with a choice of LEDs, two way pocket clip, tail switch and a couple of colours for around $30 including a rechargeable 14500 battery. Picked up the Gunmetal one recently and have been really impressed with it.
I’d recommend a Gerber Shard or Kershaw PT2. You get a way to open packages, flat head and philips head screwdrivers, pry tool, bottle opener, and with the Kershaw you get three hex wrenches. They should be perfectly TSA approved since they’re not dangerous in any way.
Love the Rotring 600, but it's unfortunately not pocket-safe. I've had a Rotring 800 with the retractable tip (making it pocket safe) but the extra moving parts made it prone to jamming and was frustrating. The Rotring 600 fits a standard BIC pen cap though, so you can add that if you like and don't mind the mismatched aesthetic. I've never managed to find a custom cap, though I can imagine there's something out somewhere... if you find anything let me know!

Is nitro-v stainless steel good for edc on a fixed blade? I've carried a cheap pocket knife for 7 years until yesterday I was using it and the lock gave out and now my hand is wrapped up. I saw Bradford was highly recommended but I don't really want to spend 200 bucks on a knife I saw the same Bradford but with Drop they used the nitro-v stainless steel and is only 140 bucks
Just wondering if you have had any experience with the sitivien st101? It looks like another budget friendly knife with D2 steel, but slightly cheaper than the QSP Penguin
It's a good knife, if you are referring to the ST103, which is basically a larger version of the penguin. The ST101 is a drop point style. The 103 is a sheepsfoot like the penguin
I’ve been trying to find some videos on edc for guys that wear overalls. Any help in that area? I know a lot of what you show would apply. Just wanted to see a setup.
Paused to ask, "an all day dry sock in ALL conditions?" Yesterday I had to basically turn upside down in a freakin bottom ash crusher to pry out a chunk of steel that had it bound up. I had water pouring down on me with so much pressure that it was a task getting turned back upright just to be able to get outa there. I had a Tyvek suit on but was still soaked from head to toe.
