  • Dr Kirsty Lauder recently completed her PhD at Birkbeck, she is an Associate Tutor in the Department of Organisational Psychology and a Post-Doctorate Researcher in the Centre for Neurodiversity Research at Work at Birkbeck.
Kirsty’s insightful PhD research looks into effective adjustments for ADHD in the workplace. In carrying out her systematic literature review, it became evident that academic research in this area was limited and practice was being hindered by bias, stereotypes and assumptions - so a ripe area for development.
To address this research gap, Kirsty developed an e-learning programme for Managers and HR Professionals to raise awareness of ADHD interventions at work, which was proven to increase knowledge and can improve attitudes to ADHD and the granting reasonable adjustments.
Kirsty’s work highlights the practical implications around reasonable adjustments and suggests how psycho-social interventions can often be supportive for everyone within an organisation.
