Santana is a great artist. I love the way he showcases the whole band. He doesn't hog all the playing time. So much talent there. Just like the Allman bros .talented musicianship!
Well said, that's what I think about Gil Scott-Heron, check out some of his live performances, some of his material is so thought provoking. Stands as Strong and meaningful Now, as the days they were written. May Peace Go With You Brother Man , now and always.
As to myself beginning to feel the power of pitch Bender in my guitar. My late Mother used to say am not particularly fond of rock but of Santana , Yes
ive always loved the Zombies singing this classic , however theres always room for another great band to join in Santana are a splendid band ,,,i adore there version with all my heart xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Absolutely…..I’ve seen Carlos w my elbows on stage in seventies. Clapton fifth row center. Never seen Beck except RUclips live at Ronnie Scott’s w Paige in audience. I go w Santana too

I remember hearing this for the first time back in the mid 90's or so, when I was just getting into classic rock from the 60's and 70's, listening to and getting hooked on a lot of awesome guitar-driven blues rock and discovering the likes of Hendrix, Clapton, and Page. I heard this song and was blown away. I immediately became a Santana fan. A few years later, Supernatural was released showing that not only did he still have it, he was still at the top of his game.
I remember the first time hearing this. I was with one of my best friends sitting in the passenger seat of an old pick up truck. Driving down south in San Diego, late at a night. High as hell. Hearing that guitar solo for the first time. Crazy. Will always remember that memory.
I love that song ---- every time I hear it, it takes me back to a happy time in my life, so many decades ago. Loved it the first time I heard it, and still would enjoy it if I were to listen to it every single day. A classic.
I was at a concert w Santana Nov. '22 he introduced this song with "I used to sing She's not there, now she's everywhere." Cryptic..love you Carlos❤🙏🏼🦢
This is a trip! Another guitarist I love from the era, Ace Frehley, has always been great at doing covers and making them his own. The first time I heard this by Santana it blew me away. Like Ace's cover of "Do Ya", I love this more than the original. When I was I teen I never thought I'd like Santana-"Not my thing". Then I heard him play. Totally blown away. And the TONE! (And he put that tone into action on some of his most iconic recordings with the incomparable Yamaha SG2000, which he helped design!)
I remember going to the Wembley Arena concert in the 1970's. And when this song started, the audience, including me, just went crazy. It was more crazy as at the end of the concert, we all called "encore" thrice and thrice Santana and the band came on. It was pure, golden, classic m
I'll always remember the first time I heard this song,. Flew into San Francisco in 1978 to visit my mother's side of the family in Marin County, driving from the airport up Route 101, past Candlestick Park. It pierced my soul, the mood, the lyrics, bizarrely appropriate. We were visiting them because my mother died. Sorry to lay all that on you. We visited from Philadelphia every two years, starting in the Haight Ahsbury hippie era in 1968, same drive, but she's not there.

oh Whoa !! Memory Blast. Juke boxes in New Mexico usually playing a Santana song, this one on high rotation. I grew up in a very special place, the Land of Enchantment. Cielo Encantado
I loved all of Santana's bands but the late 70s thru the 1980s are kind of my favorite. With the three princes of percussion; Orestes Vilato, Raul Rekow and the immortal Armando Pereza. Plus bassist David Margen (what happened to him?) drummer Graham Lear, Alan Pasqua. Terrific combination of players.
I first heard this when i was peacekeeping in Cambodia. It was being covered by a local group in a small "dancing restaurant " and i was taking a leak in the tin shed out back. I heard the intro and thought I know this! As I walked back to my table i realised what it was. As the band didnt have a vocalist i stepped on stage and sang it. They were ecstatic and asked me to do Black magic woman. After that i did it every night. Great days...
Damn it rocks and sways \m/ Santanas rythm and backbeat skills and usage is phenomenal make you bounce between the walls. ....and that first solo with the kept drumming gaaaaah the airplaying is serious here
Guitar solo ... goosebumps everytime. ..Its absolutely sublime
🎸🔥
Indeed!
Black Magic Woman has entered the chat :)
Outstanding guitar solos from Carlos. Bill Graham once said "line up a hundred guitarists and I can pick out Carlos Santana every time"
one my favorite guitarists... soulful and expressive... one of the best.
@@alanh7247:
absolutely. great tone & feel.
Love the original by the zombies but when carlos covers a song he makes it his own. Musical magic.
ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER OF THIS SONG...and..enigma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This version is evidence of a golden age
Carlos doesn't sing this one of the guitarist lead vocals on this cover
Word for word, exactly what i think.
yep that version is lovely the same
Happy 77th Carlos Santana Greatest cover ever. The master of his instrument
He is so underrated!!!
Santana is a great artist. I love the way he showcases the whole band. He doesn't hog all the playing time. So much talent there. Just like the Allman bros .talented musicianship!
Just doesn't get much better than this!
Allman Bros? Sure
Good point. Like the brothers ,there's plenty of talent to spread the music around to.
Just when you thought a song couldn't be any cooler, along comes Carlos .....
One of the most badass guitar solos ever.
ive always loved the Zombies singing this classic , however theres always room for another great band to join in Santana are a splendid band ,,,i adore there version with all my heart xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

@@oughtonoughton2634 well their you carnt
Both versions are well done. I like to think that Santana covers always take the song to the next level musically...
I came here just to hear the solo at 2:38
This is stuck in my mind as a quintessential memory of the music of the 70s. Wouldn't be the 70s without it!
Two of the best guitar solos ever... in the same song!
best vocalist he ever had
Anyone else notice the crystal clear sound of this? Even on my crappy phone speakers.
Carlos Santana is right up there with Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton. The man knows how to play.
Absolutely…..I’ve seen Carlos w my elbows on stage in seventies. Clapton fifth row center. Never seen Beck except RUclips live at Ronnie Scott’s w Paige in audience. I go w Santana too
Thank you for giving this classic the REAL hifi treatment it requires.
Wish every uploader had the same respect.
Cheers
No one told me about her
The way she lied
Well, no one told me about her
How many people cried
Well, it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know, why should I care
Please don't bother trying to find her
She's not there, oh oh oh
Nobody told me about her
What could I do
Well, nobody told me about her
Though they all knew
Well, it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know, why should I care
Please don't bother trying to find her
She's not there
Let me tell you about the way she looked
The way she acted, the color of her hair
Her voice is soft and cool
Her eyes are clear and bright
But she's not there
Well, it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know, why should I care
Please don't bother trying to find her
She's not there, oh oh oh
Well, let me tell you about the way she looked

Born in 74 grew up with this. Amazing truly.

Great version. Saw Santana a few times. An awesome band

nice
I can imagine
That Particular solo is (for me) the best sound he ever had. Yamaha SG 2000 into the Mk1 Mesa Boogie i think it was?
Ride on ,brothers n sista’s 🎶👍
South San Diego. As in O.B.?
I love this song. You used to hear it on the radio but classic rock radio stations suck these days to.
Carlos 2 guitar solos in this jam right here are hard to beat. Slammin!
Santana sings through his guitar, he doesn't play it.
This was the first song by Santana I ever heard, hooked since then.
Dave Derrick that's not by Santana but by a group of 60s, they have only done a cover of this song
Rebecca Morganti - yeah Rod Argent from The Zombies wrote it, Carlos did a cover of it.
Listen to sunflower?
Originally recorded by The Zombies in 1963.
Quite simply my favorite lead guitar tone of all time. Magical every time. The start of the second solo is the entire world
Santana's best solo. And that's reeeally saying something.
Watching “The long kiss goodnight” right now & this killer track comes on.
Yes!! That’s where I heard this song for the 1st time
Fits the movie perfectly
This version scorched the 📻airwaves back in the 70's. You could test your Hi-Fi speakers till they ⚡🔇💨💨
No one ever sounded as good as Carlos😎🔥
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here.
Love both versions 💕 The Zombie and Santana gives it that Latin bet

What's interesting about this version is how a new instrument or percussion comes in during each repeat of the rhythm.
Did Santana ever perform this song live?? Would have been nice to include a rippin version of this tune live at the time of this release

i love this song soooo much where here in 2024 ? :)
Never gets old.
Bought 'Moonflower' album back in the '70's....this track included on it. Outstanding...!!!
Smooth song in concert, Santana never disappoints.

This is an amazing song. Drums, bass and guitar plus vocals 👍👍
Holy God 🙌🏼 Carlos and band ❤️👍🏼
uno dei migliori complessi al mondo grazie CARLOS insieme ai tuoi musicisti
Great song by Santana and vocals by Greg walker 1977 Moonflower album fantastic album.
Song by Santana?? 😧
Its a cover version of a 1964 hit by The Zombies.... albeit a very strong cover
This is just so damn good!!! But credit to The Zombies for such an amazing song too!!
I love how they build up and skip the first chorus it's great

Favorite Satana album. Saw them at Kent State in 1977 after Moonflower release. Awesome concert.
Awww I remember playing this one over and over in my VDub during the 70's. Cruising Waikiki
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here
Yes RJ, I think Santana has the Zombies covered with this one. Both are brilliant, majestic as soaring eagles in high places.
The drums are crispy…
Extra fried 🍗
2:24 - that passion and hurt kills me and always will!
Always a good day❤ Nischanan❤❤
moonflower:the best lp of Santana
El Morocco is my favourite...
I love how you can always tell who is playing the guitar when it’s Carlos Santana. The style is amazing.
Great song I like the Zombies very much, guess Santana dose too!
I like both versions of that song. The Zombies’ version and that version.
Daqui a 100 anos, Santana será atual.
Great version of this song really enjoyed that 👌

One of the great covers.

I got into guitar after hearing this when I was 17. 1977...Love Carlos.
Genius !! Say no more xx
I love Santana's interpretation of this song. It's a classic, like their interpretation of Tito Puente's Ove Como Va.
Epic hard driving track. Best on the album though totally overlooked
Santana makes his guitar scream like a cougar in this song.
Thank you Santana! RoseWell 🌹 ❤
