Gary Holt is the legendary godfather of thrash metal who joined Exodus in 1981 and played in that band’s early days alongside his then-bandmate Kirk Hammett. His LTD Signature Series GH-SV offers all of the aggression and power for which Gary is known and loved. This guitar makes use of the coveted ESP SV shape, with one side of the V-shape more elongated than the other. The body’s top and back are flat, with nothing to get in the way of pure shredding. Built at 24.75” scale, the GH-SV offers neck-thru-body construction, featuring a three-piece thin U-shaped mahogany neck and a mahogany body with maple cap. The Black finish of this guitar is accentuated by multi-ply red binding on the body, red binding on the neck and headstock, red pickup covers, and a special red scripted LTD logo. Its Macassar ebony neck is highlighted by pearloid split block inlays and 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets. Components on the GH-SV include a double-locking Floyd Rose 1000 tremolo system, Grover tuners, and a set of direct-mount active pickups including the EMG 89R (neck), with reversed coils to keep the single coil side closer to the neck to capture the sweet spot and a push-pull control to split the pickup, and an aggressive EMG 81 in the bridge position. For musicians on a tighter budget, the GH SV-200 is a great guitar that offers bolt-on construction and a set of ESP LH-301 pickups at a price you can definitely afford.

Holy crap lol. People who don’t understand why the Big 4 are The Big 4 drive me crazy. It’s record sales. That’s it. It doesn’t mean that your favorite band wasn’t kick ass or deserving of more. Exodus rules, but as far as selling records they weren’t even close to the top.

This guitar is so damn killer for the price. Stainless steel frets on a sub 1k guitar is insane. Esp delivers once again. Edit : just looking at the body shape of my Alexi 600 to the GH v and they are the same! Looks like I have to buy this model now hahaha
Yeah I agree with everything u are saying. I have a Gibson Explorer an love it. I used to play in 20 s but quit and now in my 60s I'm starting all over. But hell yeah I am going to get one of those ESP or LTD. Bad ass axes.

Got my 2009 ec1000fr deluxe see through black brand new in 09 cause Gary plays one the old girl still rocks out and is my main guitar has tiny crack in volute area but don't affect it from my drinking days. played so much the woods showing on back neck and feels even better . Can't beat the older ltd's I have a ltd jk-1 from 2011 and my Ibanez rg652 and I play the EC 1000 cause it's just sick

They did a fixed bridge version of GH-600 but they discontinued it pretty quickly. It propably wasnt popular enough.

My friend bought two of these within a 2-week span. Both of them showed up with the cracked neck Gary holt is a very cool guitar player and dude but ESP needs to work on their quality control
