ESP GL DESERT EAGLE INFO & SPECS: www.espguitars.com/products/3...
George Lynch, the legendary hard rock/metal guitarist who has been part of the ESP artist family since the 1980s, is here to go over the fine details of his latest LTD Signature Series guitar, the GL Desert Eagle. The guitar is a re-imagining of his famous Kamikaze model, and features an alder body and maple neck with bolt-on construction at 25.5” scale. Other features include George’s original U-shaped neck, a Macassar ebony fingerboard with 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, a Floyd Rose 1000 SE double-locking tremolo with stainless steel screws, a special low-friction volume pot, and a special pickup combination that includes a Seymour Duncan '78 pickup in the bridge and an ESP LS-120 single-coil in the neck position. This guitar is also available in a handcrafted version built one at a time by the ESP Custom Shop in Japan with the ESP GL Desert Eagle.

George is going to be 70 in September… 70!! And he looks and sounds fantastic. One of, if not the most air guitar worthy sound and feel that ever graced the strings. Thank you for being you George!
Yeah, pretty crazy when you consider Angus Young is the same ages...
And look at all that thick hair! Good genes and living a clean life
George King Lynch is probably my favorite Guitarist of all time. I got to add this guitar to my collection.
I watched him on the tube after Eddie died trying to play. It was absolutely horrific.
indeed he is a guitar god and fit a well! Love this guitar and dream of buying the ESP custom shop version. A rock and shredder's delight!
Met George and spoke with him for a while, quite a few years ago now. He was very humble and gracious.
great artists are humble and kind
George is an icon in the rock music world !
His tone is smokin'!!!!
Distortion…
Walked in music store started playing owner said listen to Dokken much. Influence, heck yeah.lm 66 and it started with Leslie West of Mountain.❤
🤘
Respect for A life of Music !
that hockey headstock 🤘
love it!
Lynch always had amazing tone
One of the greatest.
Yeah, he's opening for the farmers market at 11 am on tuesdays.
I used to work for ESP. Great company and George is a great guy.
Love this guy 👏💥nobody sounds like George…..NObody ! 🎸⚡️☝️
Im a Cherokee who coincidentally plays a fixed bridge, hs strat, and my favorite pickup is a 78, and as an all american soldier, I love camo. I love you George, but this is my guitar now.
@@jarrettfinney4882 😃👍❤️
having some native American heritage myself, this would be a dream guitar!
I met George during a clinic in Costa Rica and I can tell he is as talented as he is cool nice person.
I have a 1996 ESP Kami, and I love it to death ....with the exception of having to yank the neck off the guitar for any truss rod adjustments. I'm glad the Desert Eagle has easy access to the truss rod.
Mr Scary himself, one of the greatest guitar players to grace us humans in the Metal Genre!!
Mr George Lynch! The best in my opinion. 😊
I met him once at his home studio in the late 90s. He told a funny story about picking up his young daughter from school and the teacher warned her to get away from him, not knowing that was her dad, lol. He gave me an EMG 81 because I was into Zak Wylde and wanting to mod my Les Paul. Cool dude.
@@mrbuttons1243 dude! That’s cool.
George is a legend!!!!!!!!
George is one of one....
Such a great player
I could listen to this guy play all day long
One of my Favorites, Saw him a few times with Dokken i believe with Ronnie Dio its been a long time since the 80s
Lynch is a treasure. What a great-looking guitar.
George’s playing is what got me to pick up the guitar in the first place. I owned the Haji guitar but had to sell it due to a family emergency. But I can tell ya, these guitars play amazing. Thank you, George for all the music over the years.
I have the Standing Bear Mr. Scary made by the Man himself. It was by chance that I got it. My Father had passed a few months before, and was deep into our NA herritage. I recieved some inherintance He left me, and was looking for a guitar to remember him with. Seemed like fate once I found it. Also purchased a LP Slash November Burst a while later, and after getting it home discovered the completion date was on the same day my Dad had passed away. Deffinetly a trip. Anyway, glad George decided to add this bad ass design to his ESP collection. Also want to add that George called me after purchasing the guitar, and we spoke for about an hour. Totaly unexpected for someone with his fame to spend that ammount of time talking on several topics to someone he doesn't even know. Felt like I had to cut the convo short. It was surreal.
His sound is❤❤❤❤
NICE guitar from a GREAT ICONIC player
Frickin coooool!
❤❤❤
I have an ESP Custom shop Kamikaze from Japan, took a while to find it. That full maple body just sings out. Alder is good too.
My other influence in playing guitar (main one is evh)
He’s with ENGL amps now? Cool! Awesome ! George Lynch is the 🐐 🔥
Really cool axe
Totally awesome guitar!
how cool is all this
⭐⭐⭐ESP GUITARS⭐⭐⭐
❤❤❤ LOVE GEORGE'S COMMITMENT TO GUITAR , NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURE AND DESERT ANALOGY. I HAVE GEORGE'S ENTIRE CATALOGUE OF ALL THE BANDS HE GRACED. HOPE FELICIA AND I MEET HIM SOON, AMEN❤❤❤
Wish it was the same paint/wrap around the entire guitar. Would be nice to be able to see the cool design while you’re playing
Always like this dude. He just didn't give off "I'm a Rock star" vibe. This is a guy that I would love to sit down in a bar over some cold ones and just talk about things not related to music. Great to see the new guitar. I would buy one but they look like toys in my hands, like Charvels. It's frigging hilarious actually. Do a headstock bend and oh shit, I broke it.
Very cool. I think ESP has the best headstocks and custom guitars bar none! I used to own a Japanese Queensryche guitar, or one I had painted to match the same. It was a neck thru and was awsome❤.
Last time I saw Dokken, George was playing hidden behind his stack, you really never saw him the whole gig?!
I saw him on a “rock cruise” and he pretty much faced the amp the entire show. Killer chops but kind of a strange dude.
I've lost respect for George over the years. I've either read or ran into people who've confirmed he's a class A butthole. That's of course unless you pay for the backstage fan experience.
Cool guitar.
George 🎸🔥🔥🔥
Mr. Scary is the BEST!! 🤘🏽
I hope they put this guitar out in a left-handed model. It looks smokin!
I've got a Kamikaze model some 12 years ago (it hasn't been so easy to find one) and it's still with me in these days ....I've always been attracted by its look and colours....the only thing I did was to replace the original Ibanez pickups...not bad but .... with a pair of Bare Knuckles (hum + single) and that's been a huge step forward to brain pleasure 🙂 ....who knows whether it's now time for a Desert Eagle ?! ....mmmhhhh.....I guess so.
That’s bad assed
I do not care about brand names, as long as it feels right in my hands, that's all that matters, I love my LTD EC1000, I have other guitars I love 98 Les Paul Standard, 97 SG 74 Strat..but I play that 2011 LTD more than any other guitar because that neck is incredible, I wish all my guitars had as fast as a neck...like a San Dimas fast.
Interesting they went with a Seymour Duncan 78 and not one of the George Lynch pickup models 🤔
George Lynch is the man
Eddie started with the truss rod adj. Cut out at the end of the neck (Wolfgangs) now every company does it.
George Lynch is one of my heroes. I noticed that he's not using a pick, for this video?
Love mine it's a great Git Fiddle!
Curious about the nut and neck width... 43mm (1-11/16 or R4) nut width but 45mm (1-3/4 or R5) neck width? Maybe to keep strings from rolling off the fretboard? I know George likes the wider 1-3/4 in necks for space between strings, so I'd think he'd want the R5? My 1-3/4 in neck with R5 nut doesn't have any issues with strings staying on the board.
My Custom Esp body and finish i had done to look like his See-thru orange Quilt maple on the GL instructional Vhs vid but i went with a black reversed banana headatock like this one.I love it and had it made about 26 yrs ago or thereabouts. GL screamin demon bridge pickup and single coil neck so simple 3 way switch, floyd rose, had the block shaved where the neck bolts on they did a great job with that but its ASH wood with a half inch quilt maple face cuz they wanted another 5-600$ for a full quilt lol.2200$ cash. Now? forget about it, even stock guitars are pricey it seems lol 🤙
Please tell me there are lefties.
🇺🇸🎸🔥
If they just added a brass block out of the box........but a 43mm nut on a 45mm neck is interesting. Not as flat as I expected at 305mm but not a major concern........
They should make it in a flat finish like the OG Kami.
If George wants to bring more awareness to native Americans he should do something with Chuck Billy! That would rule! 🤘
I regret never owning a Kamikaze, maybe i can make up for it by snagging one of these!
I started playing in 1986 and the Kamikaze was my dream guitar. Unfortunately the price tag so far beyond my teenage means. By the time I had the income to afford that expensive of a guitar, I opted to go the custom route with a Carvin built to my specs. But yeah… the Kamikaze remains the one that got away.
@@Wyl7 seems we followed similar paths.
I want one so bad. It’s the perfect guitar for me
I met lynch in the uk in 88 AC/DC blow up your video tour supporting them. I met AC/DC as well superb time, but Surely everyone knows that our fav top players won’t exactly tell u what goes in their instruments because it’s their sound.,nowadays now that George is virtually 70 endorsements is their income. I have stopped believing in this hype since my 20s. Great looking guitar and made superbly that’s it, no endorsement hypes
Unbelievable it took them 6 months or so to make this video... Thanks anyways
damn, another guitar i want that i can't afford.
Its still nearly 2k?????
I have one. It’s worth the money. Probably the best LTD that ESP has put out. The case it comes in is outstanding as well…… and yes. $1,700 is a lot. But the ESP version of the Desert Eagle is close to $7,000!!!
Why ditch the kamikaze art?
Seymour Duncan also makes Lil Screamin Demon, why isnt that pickup in these guitars?
Because George chose the pickup he wanted in his signature guitar and we said yes.
I am waiting for the blood thirsty colonist model. Thats my jam.
I just learned smoke on the water
🇨🇦👽🎸👍🏼
Nice guitar, lynch is as usual unique top tier player
I didn’t know that Harrison Ford played guitar. 🤷🏻♂️🎸😎
What country produces LTDs?
Hockey headstocks are so much cooler than a pointy stabber.
70 and rips
Wish yoy guys would've made these lefty too. No new left handed guitars for 2024? Come on man
$6,999? no way!
Thats the ESP Japanese custom shop version....with maple body, the LTD in this video is about 1.8K with alder body. The Custom shop one has full gotoh tailpiece and tuners.
If 1600 bucks is the price I’ve got to pay for a reverse banana headstock then it is what it is
the ltd logo just kills these things
In addition to the LTD version, the ESP GL Desert Eagle is in stock right now. www.espguitars.com/products/32516-esp-gl-desert-eagle
buy the ESP logo ones. More revenue
Agreed
4000$ difference😂😂😂
@zikkicharade only $4000. Esp said do it 🤣
✝️💖🌈🦅
George is awesome. But that's his guitar. Don't know why people can't make their own style
But....... who is that indian on that body picture? And........ wich tribe? 🤔
nice but the '78 pickup would have to go. I'd rather have a Bill Lawrence or grittier sounding pup in it.
sick but kinda sucks they're making these again it'll probably drive the value of the older ones down a bit now that you can buy them new again
So much better than a kamikaze..not something to celebrate in America or Japan im sure
Yeah coz I wanna pay 5k for this.
This model is about $1600-$1800. The Japan version is the $6k one.
Jesus theres so much distortion lol. wtf
$1,699? When the LTD GL-200MT Tiger is $699? SS frets, Duncan '78 and some stainless steel screws do not justify charging a full $1k more for this Desert Eagle...
Yeah, I’d love to get one but the prices have gotten stupid !
Back in the day you could buy a real ESP for less than this.
Desert Eagle is not a 200 series guitar. It's more inline with 600 or maybe 1000 series.
@@Angelo-fo8dethe ESP version of this guitar is $7,000.
@@sahlomonic This is an $899-$999 guitar all day long. $1,699... made in Korea and has a crappy Korean Floyd Rose? It should come with a real German Floyd and be manufactured in Japan for that price.
@@scottdunn2178 I agree it's overpriced a little, but it's still better construction than a 200 series. But I get what you're saying
WAY too much. Pa$$.
The LTD branding is such a dumb idea from a marketing standpoint. 90-95% of your customer base is going to buy the less expensive guitars, which means 90-95% of your product that ends up in front of cameras in photos or videos says LTD on it. What's your brand name again? LTD, no? ESP? Who's that, we only ever see LTD everywhere. Now you spend time and money trying to make sure people know LTD is made by ESP, instead of putting ESP on your guitars. But I'm sure it's better brand recognition that way, right? OR something? Seriously, make it make sense!
As an addendum, simply loot at your YT channel name, it's not LTD guitars, is it?
2000€ no thank you. Also no one asked for a neck pickup
George asked for a neck pickup
Between this scrub and Zuck Wylde, I don't know who is more overrated as far as 80s players.
I would love to be able to put up a photo of my ESP, it has an interesting story behind it, the back neck plate reads New York NY 10116, if you're interested in knowing more contact me ... 😎🎸🎶
Make a damn album already. Enought bashing Don Dokken and make a freaking album. It's getting like kiss and van halen. make a new record!
Безобразная гитарка...
One of the most overrated "shredders" from the 80s. Sounds great in the studio, but live and in person...he sounds like a 2 year beginner. Messy, out of tune, out of key and nowhere as fast.
Seriously ?
Links to your playing ?
Get real brother !!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@Angelo-fo8de send me your email and I'll provide you with tons of sound and small video clips, but we know that someone that responds with such asinine, low iq statement of straw man comparisons, won't want to get their bubble burst and provide the email dont we? We were discussing Lynch numbnuts, not me. Try to use the little bit of grey matter you have and focus on the topic.
Maybe clean the wax out of your ears, most of the World Disagrees, actually your probably lying for attention 🤔
@@zeketrick my ears are very clean ! You can come close to lynch in playing ?
I say you’re fucking dreaming !
