metal musicians are usually the coolest fuckin musicians on Earth. Jazz guys are snobbish and get excited over random note soup. Country guys are pretty ok, but prone to wanting to fight when beer is added. Rap shows are the most violent. I ran shows for years, and metal, which is my fav music anyways, was always the best time with the least amount of drama or violence happening. I can't remember who it was, but had to shut down a rap show once. I want to say it Was Project Pat, whom stayed in his bus the entire show, let his crew do his music, he came in, did ONE song, went back out, the crowd wasn't having it. Fights, broken glass etc
My wife organised a Cameo message from Gary for Christmas in 2021. He made it really personal, mentioned my wedding which was last year and all sorts. So if you somehow read this, thank you Gary.
Gary is such a cool and nice guy. My friends and I got to hang with him and the band on Eodus's tour bus after a show last year. He talked to us for awhile and let us get pictures with him even though it was late and it was a long 3 band show. Mark from Death Angel invaded the bus later on and he was hilarious. That was the first time I got to meet any musicians and I've been a metal fan my whole life!
Only 17 min of AMA and already learn a lot (this persona non grata and verbal razors riffs made my day :D), really one of the greatest thrasher ever. Hell love Exodus!!! Thx for the clinic!
This is great. I love that someone brought some alcohol free beer for Gary - he comes across as a top man and was happy to answer some really good questions from the audience. Looking forward to that book…. 👍🏻
Thanks Gary, you are a GUITAR GOD. So down to earth, so cool and interactive, loves the NFL👍 Riff Master 🤘. Exodus is the greatest thrash band IMO🤘🤘🤘🤘. Seriously, now almost 60, the man is immortal and one of the greatest guitarists of all time, both Rythm and Lead. 1 word 🤘GENIUS🤘. We Love you Gary. Keep pumping this stuff. A walking living encyclopedia of riffs. SOOOOOO COOOOOOL and down to earth. Legend. And love how he plays the budget LTD version. True Ambassador on every level.
First of all that was sweet thank you diablo Guitars for Broadcasting this! I'd be all over the ESP V If it didn't have a Trem I know I know but i'm not a Trem player. Since my first Japanese strat Boohoo...Maybe some day but until then I got a Jackson Rhodes V MJ incoming soon.
Gary Holt is such a cool , funny and humble guy in real life. He was the obvious choice to play in Jeff Hanneman’s spot in Slayer he already had the cred with the fans and really did an incredible job with Slayer. All the metalheads around and me included were very happy to hear he was the one to play in Jeff’s place 🤘🏻seen Slayer 5x live -3times with Jeff and 2x with Gary. He definitely did Jeff proud 100%. Even fans that didn’t know from sight who he was live when I saw him with Slayer the first time were very happy when I told them exactly who he was and Exodus is where he comes from they were like oh shit that’s really cool 👍🏻😎 he’s the perfect guy to do it straight out of the gate! So awesome to see he is such a friendly and fun guy in person who loves being around the fans wherever he can. Also cool he is willing to share his personal tips / tricks and anything else you can think to ask him “even the stuff he shouldn’t show us !” 🤭 as well as being quite funny too !😊 keep on having fun doing your thing brother we are all here for it dude! 👍🏻 You Rule Gary 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Was watching Gary Holt on Diablo guitars RUclips video. If you see this and still have back pain, problems. Look for Sara Meeks exercises on RUclips, or a Therapist that uses her method. I'm a Physical Therapist and use her protocol. My back pain went quickly gone with her exercises. I apply it daily in my practice. Go for it. Essentially no contra indications because uses isometric exercises
Exodus - greatest thrash metal band ever! I gave a demo CD of my band to Exodus' manager during a show (I wanted to toss it at Gary) and they let me go backstage (me and other 4-5 guys). They gave us drinks and snacks and then the band came. All of them were super cool, especially Rob Dukes, he might look tough, but he's super sweet and great with the fans! Well, Gary was amazing as well, I don't know if he even heard my CD, but we had fun. Then I met him again when he was touring with Slayer and again, super cool dude. He was wearing a shirt that said 'vegans will be shot' haha, I didn't want to tell him that I was a vegan. Good times 😂
Dude, I never would have EVER thought metal guys I looked up to growing up, would eventually be in videos on a website like YT, teaching us shit we once would have to some how track the guy down in person, and hope we oculd ask at a show or something. I remember driving 6 hours when i was 16 to ask Jack Owen a guitar question at a cannibal Corpse show. Not only did he answer, but he showed me some things with his travel rig.
No one ever asked him if he still had Bernie Rico Jr. guitars (and he had a lot of them) and if he was playing something from the "Impact..........." or "Force of Habit" Albums. .. All the best to Nick Barker!!!!!
Force of Habit has aged so well. I liked the album when it came out, while most panned it.... but now, it has grown on me even more. Impact has always been amazing. Exodus never got the real credit they deserved imo. They should be mentioned with Megadeth and Slayer and have that kind of sales power.
@@pleasuretokillpersonally I think Pump It Up and Bitch were poor choices for covers compared to Lowrider and Overdose off Fabulous but the rest of Force of Habit slays!
Gary is an amazing guitarist, metal god!!the only man who could fill in for Jeff hannerman and pull it off.poor Kerry king has to live with being the second best guitarist in slayer, both lineups..lol
I used to think that but Kerry took care of himself over the years and can still play the same as he was in his twenties, Jeff struggled to keep up towards the end from what I’ve read. I read there were songs Kerry wrote that Jeff couldn’t play live ( Rob Flynn talked about it)
What type of soda is that?? I just am particularly really interested in the soda. Is it lime? I must have one. It's not real is it? Damn! Well I'll just drink uh, beer. Can I get a beer. Thx. 🍺
Verbal Razors, Braindead, Parasite, Fabulous Disaster, Thrash Under Pressure, Sealed with a Fist....oh man, it's such a long, never ending list of forgotten songs that need to return back to their setlist!
Lmao someone in the crowd tried to challenge Gary’s opinion of Hetfield being the best rhythm player to ever do it and he just ignored the fuck out of him and kept talking and playing.
Holt is such a legend. Seems like a genuine nice guy

🤘
Holt had the sickest tone on the Exodus, Testament, Death Angel tour last year. Nice to hear how he got that sound outta the Jubilee.
Gary is the EVH of thrash! His riffs are insane!
YUP!
Absolutely true !!!
❤❤❤❤totalmente gary es el thrash hecho riff
No,no,! JEFF WATERS IS THE EDVANHALEN OF THE TRASH!!!
keep EVH away of your thrashy mouth.
What a HUMBLE legend of a dude!
One of the most humble and down to earth players in the industry. 🤘🏾
Fuk yeah he’s awesome person
Gary is the best metal guitarist from back in the day!
So humble
Gary really is one of the coolest guys you could ever meet. And he fucking shreds like no other!!! Holt Awaits!!!!
🤘🤘🤘 Hearing Gary cheering about our PdeQ pedal made our day! :D
I just ordered one from your store on Reverb tonight because of this video , LoL
Gary Holt wrote so many great thrash riffs over the years! He seems like a great guy as well, very cool
👍
Riff legend...and really nice guy!
Now this audio is killer! I hear everything Gary is doing. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
He had me at BLACKMORE! I knew there was a reason why he's my favorite thrash metal guitarist 🎸
This is so great! Thx for posting
this is pure gem thank you
I want to see Gary and Jeff Waters do a project together. These guys rule!
Are you aware of Dethklok? "I was on Dethklok!" Shit, I forgot about that too!

Garry put new life in to Slayer, as a big Slayer fan I appreciated him kicking ass in Slayer

2 times I seen exodus man thanks to the band
Being told "Come on up" by Gary Holt - wow!
If I were there, I'd ask him to play the intro to Chem-kill, my favorite Exodus song, I love your music and playing Gary Holt thanks brother!

Him and Kerry King should get Band together.

What was the last thing he played?
I hate seeing an event on YT a year after it happens, 2 miles from my house, unbeknownst to me until now.

I thought his Vixen was badass!
Probably. It's all about sponsorship when in public. I have one and it's one of two main guitars.
@@pleasuretokillpersonally I think Pump It Up and Bitch were poor choices for covers compared to Lowrider and Overdose off Fabulous but the rest of Force of Habit slays!

Who is Gary Holt , what band t shirt 👶🎤🙏
Oh man, I've never heard him speak. He sounds just like The Dude! XD
Dave grohl aka Gary Holt.
Songs 31:00 - 32:30 ?

Came for the riffs stayed for the personality
You know you are badass when a legend like Gary Holt calls you (Hetfield) "The best ever"
“I do have hearing aids, thank you Slayer”
Lmao, classic
46:05 dude asks a question then proceeds to talk over Gary as he answers. That's a violation bud.
Gary isn’t to good at this guitar thing eh? Lol I kid, the guy’s my favorite thrash guitarist & one of my all time favorites! 🤘🤘🤘 Exodus rules! 🤘🤘🤘
What type of soda is that?? I just am particularly really interested in the soda. Is it lime? I must have one. It's not real is it? Damn! Well I'll just drink uh, beer. Can I get a beer. Thx.

Riff Machine
He's being very self deprecating coz he's one of the most technically accomplished guitarists out there.
bring Rob back on vocals
More Angus than Pertucci lol
That LTD V guitar totally destroys the Les Paul style LTD.
🙂
hahaha his tshirt
Napalm > Nuclear Blast (at the moment!)
What if Gary holt replaced Dave Mustang in Metallica instead of kirk
Gary holt looks like Rachel Ray
no fucking way this dude is 59
Verbal Razors. Everybody wants that song played live. Dump the over played songs and add it to the setlist.
