- Still have the old John Deere style hydraulic couplers? I’ll show you how easy it is to convert those over to the modern ISO/Pioneer style with a handy kit that can come from any John Deere Dealer.
Guys like you make RUclips a great resource and time saver. Thanks
This is à magnificent explanation! I have tried to complete this procedure once before without success. This time it works. Thank you.
Been looking for info on rebuilding these for quite a while, Best video I've seen yet!
I wasn’t happy Deere’s own video doesn’t use their own kit, so I made my own. Glad I could help you out!
Great video, just what I was looking for. Thanks
excellent explanation !
Excellent detailed video
Did this to my 20 , 30 and 40 series why !! Now matches the 50 series and any other equipment you use . Barrow, steal, or god fore bid buy, lol. Convince!!!!
Excellent video. Thanks for info.
I just installed this kit in our early 1968 4020 yesterday.
The complete conversion kit at the dealer was the way to go.
It has everything in the kit you need to get it done.
Yes , take the lines off the block and remove the block , then disassemble on the bench to replace those o-rings and backing washers.
After this conversion is done , make sure to buy the correct couplers for all your hoses.
Hey awesome video! After you got the barrel in all the way were you able to move it back and forth by hand? I've got the seals and backwashers in and I'm working through this and it seems like id have to use a pry bar or a hammer to get it to slide. I'm using an aftermarket kit (probably my first mistake) and think the tolerances might not be good.
This set slid back and forth nicely. I’ve had some sets before that we had to always pry forward. I wouldn’t use a hammer to do it though
Having issues connecting my shredder to this new set up, I can’t get them to go in a lock up. Like can’t get passed the barring part that catches the connection. Not even with a hammer they pop right out.
Well done ....
Just did this and I can’t get the attachments to seat in. Is there a break in trick
I switched my JD ISO over to the WAPSI, My Deere ISO leaked from day one when I installed several years back. No leaks now.
That's what I am about to do. Wish I wouldn't have spent the money on the JD ones. Junk. My brother did the waspi and it's been trouble free for years
Now make a farming video where we can see the equipment in action
There's a better conversion kit out there called The wasp conversion kit
Have you ever had to replace any of these iso style barrels or replace the o-rings? Looks like that clip holding the barrel in place would be a real pain to get out once these are installed. Just curious
It can be. Just did them yesterday and the first one took a bit to figure out the easiest way. The rest were quick.
I personally wish I wouldn't have done the conversion and kept using adapters. Mine leak badly in no time. I used kit RE206778 but I believe there is a newer style from JD. All the people I know around me have had problems . My brother did the Waspi/Grove kit and it has been trouble free for years.
@@seth3645thanks for the input. I’ll be doing more research on this now!
❤❤❤❤
What's the J D part no for the new parts
I read it off in the video and even put it up on the screen
Why did you convert it?
The Deere couplers are out of date. We do not have any equipment that runs that style, everything is Pioneer(ISO). Sure we could’ve just gotten adapters for this one tractor, but the seals probably would’ve still leaked. So with the new kit I got new seals and don’t have to screw around with adapters
@@twocylinderwill I don't have any problems with any of mine.
@@bradjenkins932 if that works for you, great! Leave it be. This is what works best for us and our equipment
There's a better conversion kit out there called The wasp conversion kit get that kit and you'll never have another leak like I did on my tractor these two here leak all the time the pioneer is the same as a John Deere the ones I have are just push and pull just like the new tractors it's called The wasp conversion kit
can you provide a link? Know of any videos on the conversion...I prefer that over written instructions. Thanks
