Might be the first one here talking about Against the Storm... it's seriously amazing Just grabbed it two weeks ago with discount and so far I've already put in almost 180 hours without realising
Battle Brothers 🙏🧙♂️ a true work of art, masterfully crafted with the utmost passion & soul... There is nothing that hits the itch that BB does. Idk if it counts as a Strategy game but Total War: Rome 2 is going through 90% sales on Steam at the moment. Definitely worth picking up since there's a ton of mods from the workshop and the vanilla game alone can last you for quite a while.
@@easilydistractedgames Wartales was the first time in my life that I experienced what a love-hate relationship is. The game does some things incredibly well - but others unbelievably badly. I'm curious to hear about your experiences! 😉
Oddly if you buy the Door 407 Developer bundle instead of Diplomacy stand alone, its a little bit cheaper. I'm £35 lighter thanks to watching this video!
Nice list :) Many good titles, two exceptions though. Stelaris died years ago under the weight of its greedy DLC policy, and the gameplay is broken since the dlc's doesn't really work together anymore. Songs of Conquest is not worth it due to bad balancing..
yep and only trough pacific is possible becouse othernation closed borders so logical is just go west but was not possible so thy need go east and travel acros world thy arived home 2 year after war end
Little historical correction, it was Czechoslovakian legion. And with Russin anti bolshevik soldiers, like General Sergej Vojcechovsky, who was kidnapped after World war II by NKVD and died in gulag.
Can confirm Wartales is a great game. I wanted to like Classified 44 but I refunded it before my 2 hours were up. Maybe I’ll give it another go, but it just didn’t feel great.
"Name a better soundtrack in a strategy game" - Endless Space 2, or really anything by Amplitude. Or "Battletech", "Ixion" (if that counts as a strategy game), or "Age Of Wonders: Planetfall". I've never played "Stellaris", but I've listened to the soundtrack, and it's never quite been able to capture my attention in the same way as those.
Im stopping buying games from Steam. As I found out I do not own the copy of my games. Which sucks! Because my old Xbox and Playstation games I gave to my son. I traded in too and got creds for other games in Gamestop. Etc.. And I bought hundreds of games for $5 a pop from other people. I found out I can not do that with Steam and feeling burnt paying Full Price $$$ for something I really do not own. F*ck That!
I know! Sins 2 was on the list, but I was searching for deep discounts. I'll save Supcom and Empire At War for another list in the future though, might be bit dated for some..
I would not call Wartales open ended. after 80+ hours I can truthfully say that your decisions and morality do basically nothing and there are no gradated outcomes. it delivers on the feeling above all that you and your band don't have any real power, you're just deciding which name gets said at the end of the quest line and nothing in the region(s) really changes. Like, the very first storyline you do ends with genocide no matter which side you choose, there is no peaceful option no matter how much you can stomp both sides. There are no "knightly" approaches or "sneaky" approaches. Bad North I really liked, but I just have never managed to finish a game. It does it's one thing really well, but it really only does that one thing. well worth the price though at 80% off. OMD 3 and Northgard are 90% off? Well past time I picked those up
I see what you are saying. But try having some imagination. Like think out your decisions for your own reasons. The world is supposed to exist without your merc troop. You are just a platoon. You don't really make "decisions." You decide based on value. Like what moral principles you agree with or what rewards you want. It's all open ended. Sure the story itself is static. But you arent. Just like in reality. No matter what you decide you will only just be an aspect. Not the catalyst.
@@easilydistractedgames Considering the choice gamers have for x4 games, this one is very boring, unnecessary complicated in some areas and very shallow in others, terrible AI, crashing, balancing issues, underwhelming gameplay, for a game based around controlling territory its surprising how basic/boring it is in this aspect, not a lot of strategic elements,1 especially late game. Wartiles on the other hand was a good title.
Wartales beside being woke as hell, was so boring for me. I don't know why this game gets so much praise. The combat is atrocious compared to everything i ever played before.
Aliens: Dark Descent is absolutely amazing and I always recommend it to any Aliens fan.
Is it like Xcom 2?
If so, then I'm definitely buying.

The only thing that wartales need is a soundtrack that doesnt make me sleep, everything else about the game is amazing
What a great video, looking forward to more from you sir.
Oh wow thank you! Yes for sure, more coming soon
Wartales is chef's kiss 😚👌
Tons of good games on this list for sure. Keep up the good work man :)
Thank you Prozeon!
You have a good taste, neat list. I would also mention Battletech, great representative of the genre is at -75% off on Steam now

To be honest, this 'List' is about the RTS games which you 'don't have to add to your steam library'.
There are other great RTS titles out there (SupCom for example) but saving them for another video. These were just the best on sale
