You guys are amazing but it is also great to see the kindness of humanity instead of always hearing about the bad. Thanks so much for sharing your journey for the last two years, hope to see more even after you have conquered this trail.
THAT was a punishing day! You guys persevered, spurred on by Mandy and fam ... amazing! I love how at the end, the last 100 miles, your yearnings turn to cinnamon rolls and baked goods --- it's like you're on "Survivor," they do that too.
Wow you did not have enough food for one person. Good thing you had angel looking out for you. Don’t feel to badly about running out food I think it happens to everyone at some point when you pushing limits. It happened a couple times.
This Field Trip video brought out so much emotion in me. When the young lady raced back to bring you some extra food, it almost had me in tears. I fully understand how the human body hits a brick wall when it\s starving for energy, and there's nothing left in the tank. This section in Washington is in such bad condition, where are the folks who support this PCT section from hell? Thank God you are so close to the finish, and the victory will be yours. I'm so proud of mom and her boys, still enjoying the big trees and beautiful epic views as they continue to push on. The avalanche segment looked just heart breaking to get through. Now I know why mom loves Hearts so much, because she has the biggest heart in the world for doing this with her four boys.
I know you guys are already done with this trail and on the CDT, but I must say as a mom of three boys myself I felt the stress and the concern I could hear in Moms voice through this tough section. When Mandy came back with the food I burst into tears. God is good. You guys are amazing humans and this is the best story being told on this trail. Thank you for sharing it with us all. Loving all your instagram posts on the CDT.
Well I hadn’t planned on crying until y’all got to the terminus, but I didn’t make it. The girl with the food was a lot. But in all honesty, I knew it was gonna happen. Just felt it. Waiting on the last videos is gonna kill me lol
100 miles to go!! 👏👏👏👏👏. You are all doing Great and that lady who rushed ahead to drop some food was an 😇 on earth! Looking forward to one of those cinnamon buns! Yum. 😋 Can’t wait to see them! Stay safe, your almost to the finish line! Sending all of you a hug. Hike On. 🥾🏕️🙏🧗♀️🙏😊
Good for Mandy. Several times on the trail we helped other hikers out. It's the right thing to do. With each passing day, I'm impressed with how you and the boys handle every challenge thrown at you.....and there's plenty
I hope you get to read this. Last August 2022, I did a PCT section hike from Mammoth to Yosemite. I dehydrated a lot of my own food and I didn’t bring any candy. After I was on trail, I found out that much of my food had unknowingly spoiled. On my third day which was a high mileage day for me (not you) I was set to do downhill and level. About 3/4 of the way, I just ran out of energy in my muscles and could barely move. I just had to lie down until a hiker passed and I actually begged for a piece of candy. When I was almost at Tuolumne Meadows when I passed a hiker going for a ten day hike the opposite direction. I made it about half the way of what I had left and I again ran out of fuel. I had to like down again and I was prepared to spend the night there if I had to. Then, maybe 20 minutes went by and the guy I passed going the other direction for a ten day hike came upon me. He said he got going on his way and just wasn’t feeling it. He decided to return and catch the same shuttle I wanted to back to Mammoth. I told him that he was an amazing Good Samaritan to me and that I might not have made it without his trail mix. He said that he was an atheist. I’ll never forget the way God used him to bless me. We had an amazing trip in the shuttle together where he spent a long time trying to convince me to be an atheist. I didn’t evangelize, but instead just listened. In the end I asked him an honest question that I pray might sow a seed for someone to harvest. I asked him “How does an atheist live without hope?” He really didn’t have a great answer. As I type now, I continue to pray for him. He was such a blessing to me in my great time of need. Faith, HOPE, and love…

You guys made phenomenal time, especially given how rough the trail was on that section.
Thanks!
The Lord provides!!🙌🙏🥰

The human race is really full of incredibly kind and generous people.

Had to laugh at the “car wash” reference to those huge, wet ferns. Great views!

Imagine what this earth would look like if humans never cut and destroyed so much of nature! Incredible beyond what we could imagine!
All things considered it was a good day!
Seems like there would be some native plants and fish that could be eaten.
You don't really have the time or opportunity to forage on the trail. The effort takes so much energy.
