BEAUTIFUL mom, family, children! Thank you for such an excellent video and sharing your life in this way. I showed this video in my class at the University of Georgia. My students learned so much and were so grateful for you sharing your experiences. Thank you!
Sadly there are so many people ignorant to these topic. The surgery of small intersex children is a human rights abuse. We need to learn as society there is more than male and female.
I think its super important that the mother told her child from the start that they were intersex. This is super super important. I know of many intersex people who's parents kept it a secret from their child only for them to find out in their adult life after a doctor visit. I am very happy for this child having supportive parents letting them explore their identity as a intersex person.
My parents claim they had no idea, but my uncle used to make this joke about being a hermaphrodite, and then I learned I was a hermaphrodite after he had passed. 🤔
It is alarming to read the hate speech of right-wingers in this comment section. How does bigotry, misogyny, planetary destruction, permanent war, and Constitutional evisceration fall into their "family values" rhetoric?
It depends on several factors since their body isn't normal. Most likely no matter which they choose to live (boy/girl), they will most likely need external hormones.
This is very good way to raise an intersex child. However, intersex people are still either male or female depending on how many Y chromosomes they have. It's not really "third gender", so their gender is unknown until they decide to be male or female when they grow up.
Jamie Hayes if you're against singular they you should also be against singular you. Do you say 'thou' when talking about one person? It's the exact same thing. They had been singular since before Chaucer.
