i think its because they often dont fit the strict binary system most parts of the world have adapted. obviously every intersex person has to be allowed to have their own choice whether theyd want to be part of the lgbtq+ community or not, but i do understand the instinct to group them with other people that are discriminated against and often not understood by """the norm""" (cis people). but yeah as you saw, not even a lot of lgbtq people even know what the "I" stands for so, thats something that needs to be changed!
@@Lindamorena well, there are many acronyms including more people! for example, lgbtq+ (the plus being, well, everything else thats not straight/cis/in a binary gender system), theres lgbtqi (i being intersex), lgbtia (a being asexual and aromantic people who are often forgotten in the community), etc. so, i wouldnt depend so much on the acronyms used, since they change all the time anyway! theres another acronym, gsm, which means gender and sexual minority, which is a catch-all expression which I've seen used as well, and doesn't exclude specific identities. so yes, intersex ppl might not be part of lgbtq, even though they obviously can be, but if they could choose to be part of the gsm community, or the lgbtqia+ community! should be everyones individual choice 😊

I don’t think Intersexed fits into LGBT community but I can see she has compassion for their feelings and that is why she works in a program to help them.
The only thing that I can think of is that it is a marginalized group of people who don't fit the "norm," and society is obsessed with their genetalia. I could see finding comfort in the transgender community because when she was born they labeled her as a boy, but never felt like one, and this is something trans people understand well. I think if her parents had decided to raise her as a girl, and put girl on her birth certificate she could have avoided so much pain, I'm sure they regret that every day.
This made me cry for her. Trying to understand what you are, then cope with it. You arent gay, you arent straight...its like then what are you... We need to learn more about intersex people. There really isnt a voice for them. This was a touching documentary. Thank you.
The moment we stop trying to be accepted by others we truly have freedom. Know that no one is better then anyone else. Why reach for acceptance from other imperfect human beings they not God. And if God created us God did so in love. No one has the right to say they are superior to others. This is freedom. Those who judge others as unworthy have already judged themselves as unworthy.
That’s a powerful message, but I do have something to add. Sometimes being accepted means being safe. Like, physically safe. What should you do then? Is it fair to strive for acceptance if you need it for your own safety?
@@annebannan9817 I see what you mean, and in that case I'll say that as long as you put God and your own acceptance first then it is good. Just don't get so caught up in it that you forget that God loves and accepts you. I'm speaking from experience. I have got caught up where I thought God hated me. And that's what the enemy wants us to think. Because of we look at it deeper. There's plenty of people who hate others for all kinds of things not just our physical Anatomy or sexuality or genetics, some hate the littlest things and judge and can cause sad very bad things to others. If we were to change our self to meet their expectations then they our others find other things they don't like. I say God show these blind people that I'm not a threat show them that we are one that you live me as much as you love them. The truth is they are scared and they don't have to be just because I'm deffient doesn't mean that I'm bad. But how I see it is if you can see that they are scared just as much as you that they will hurt you because they don't understand. Because they're not in the same shoes. And they believe they are doing good by hating. But they really are not. I see things that I don't like but I don't let it bother me much I just say God knows best and will handle it how he/or she wants to. I have no right to tell anyone what to do with their life. I just would love people to get along better it would be beautiful. We have gotten better in many ways and I believe we will keep getting better and treat each other better. God made us all with love different colors sizes shapes and everything. But just remember that even if you want people's acceptance for safety it's OK but God accepts you already right now and you accept you to. Because you are worthy of love and acceptance.

LGBTQ+ community is for anyone whose gender or sex, and sexual or romantic attractions do not fit within the mainstream male and female heterosexual cisgendered concepts. There is strength in numbers so when multiple minorities combine the hope is that all their voices will be better heard. It doesn't always work perfect but that's the goal. LGBTQIA+ people are often labeled as mentally or physically "ill" just because they are different but being different does not mean there is anything wrong with them. It just means that we as a society need to adapt our world veiw so we can better include them because they may be a minority but they are still every bit as human.

i think its because they often dont fit the strict binary system most parts of the world have adapted. obviously every intersex person has to be allowed to have their own choice whether theyd want to be part of the lgbtq+ community or not, but i do understand the instinct to group them with other people that are discriminated against and often not understood by """the norm""" (cis people). but yeah as you saw, not even a lot of lgbtq people even know what the "I" stands for so, thats something that needs to be changed!
@@jannecapelle_art isn't it LGBTQ( Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer)?🤔
Also as Cis women I love and accept them
@@Lindamorena well, there are many acronyms including more people! for example, lgbtq+ (the plus being, well, everything else thats not straight/cis/in a binary gender system), theres lgbtqi (i being intersex), lgbtia (a being asexual and aromantic people who are often forgotten in the community), etc. so, i wouldnt depend so much on the acronyms used, since they change all the time anyway! theres another acronym, gsm, which means gender and sexual minority, which is a catch-all expression which I've seen used as well, and doesn't exclude specific identities. so yes, intersex ppl might not be part of lgbtq, even though they obviously can be, but if they could choose to be part of the gsm community, or the lgbtqia+ community! should be everyones individual choice 😊
@@jannecapelle_art agreed friend 😊
The LGBT is looking for authenticity so they clump themselves on genuine cases of sex challenges.Hers is another issue away from the gay case.
Her parents are just amazing. It’s obvious that they had no help from their community. And they STILL chose their daughter. They truly give me hope. Their daughter has obviously inherited their strength and courage.
True,Thank you for watching
When Mama started to cry....I lost it 😢☹️
That 19 yr old part had me cackling mad ☠😂

Omg I’m from Zimbabwe felt good to hear the language again
Certain words are similar to Nigerians. I was hearing "Amara" in tye beginning song and she called her dad "Baba"
i knw this girl b4 she went out of Zim and how she faced discrimination and how people reacted to who she was....so glad she finally found herself and the society that accepts her for who she is...all the best
All his pension??Your papa is the real one
Most African parents might not say i love you verbally but their actions does!
I’m glad she landed in such a loving family. I believe everyone should be treated right no matter what. :’)
A beautiful story! Her parents are amazing and Tatenda is a strong, intelligent woman. I wish her the best in life!
She was born dealing with something very difficult than she didn’t ask for…BUT she was blessed with incredible AMAZING LOVING PARENTS !!!! Wow many blessings to you ❤️🙏🏻
Bless her and her family’s souls they are so beautiful and understanding. I wish we had more of that in the world.
To save her they had to make the hard choice to help her leave. That's so sad. I really hope these communities change their ways.
So proud of her parents, accepting who their child is. It’s nice to see that my country is changing bit by bit. 🇿🇼❤️
Thank you Kimberly for watching!
Awwww....when she said she is on her way to becoming the next Oprah...😍😍💓💓
Tatenda and her mother are just beautiful.
Thank you
@@tatendangwaru7521 I was thinking the same. Your mommy is so pretty. I know it's not my business, but I don't fully understand why you're on hormones. Stay strong. I don't know you but, I can't wait for you to be able to go home. You are right about there being no love here. Imagine growing up in it being different with no family to shield you.
Life is hard, but a strong family is a great blessing.
love stories like this the world needs to change and be more open to things and understand that PEOPLE ARE BORN DIFFERENT!!!!!
She is lucky her parents are educated and rational, or she would've been in such a bad place.
Ja Series Oh I agree..I really feel for the parents. Why is society so obsessed with genitalia and worse what every one is doing with it?
Why exclude. INclude!
All the best to you dear 🕊 My wish for you , is that all human beings are educated to believe, that all human beings are free and equal and just. 🌺
Just by her accent was able to figure that she’s Zimbabwean🤗🤗

My heart broke for her when she started sobbing :(
This made me cry for her.
Sometimes is easier said than done
Her parents are pure love!!
Sunday is a hard day for her. So sad for this women. What a blessing her parents understood, and did what they could to keep her safe. Even sending her away pains them but the lines of communication and love remains. God Bess them.
The real crisis with being intersex is knowing regardless which side you choose to stand on, there are consequences, and there should not be consequences when you are the true symbol of "born this way". This world needs to be more in touch with sense of humanity than be consumed by myths, fear and ignorance.
Absolutely Kemonna. ❤️
@@naturesfinest8205 in her case she is way more of a woman. Her voice and shape confirm it.
What a great film. I am glad I found this on RUclips. That African family is wonderful. The parents were so understanding and supportive of their intersex daughter, Tatenda. So proud of them and their daughter!!
Thank you for this video. It's very heartening to watch this slice of Tatenda's life, and hear what she and her family are going through. She is lovely, but wracked with anxieties and worries, and facing many challenges. I wish all the best for Tatenda, that she continues to grow in strength and find all the love, support and acceptance she needs in order to grow and become a fully realised individual.
It has been so hard, I was born intersex too and the Dr cut me when I was seven. I am slowly recovering who I am.Thanks for crying with me! Much love, Mia 😇
She should be thankful for her parents... They know they brought her to this world so they needed to protect.. God bless the good parents out there

As a parent I would never pick for my child who they want to be. It's their choice!!!! I applaud her parents as well.
I watched the movie, "Every Body", which is about intersex people and their struggles in society, and it was really eye opening. Thanks for sharing your story with us.
Kudos to the dad for standing up for his daughter. Kudos to both the parents for supporting her...
As hard as her life as been and the troubles she’s faced, she’s very blessed to have the family she has. Her mom and dad are amazing. When her mom cried, I cried.
What a beautiful, strong, and poised woman! Thank you for sharing her story. The fact that almost 2% faces of the world's population faces this condition, means that e everyone probably knows at least one or more people who are intersex, and probably doesn't even know that they are. It must be such as challenge, even in societies that are more accepting of different sexualities and orientations. This is clearly not a choice. My heart goes out to these people and hope that more awareness is raised so that societies around the world come to understand and accept intersex people.
I hope she finds happiness and success....many blessings for her and her parents
This is in every culture under the
Sun.
I rarely watch videos like this that give me such a range of emotions, I cried for them, smiled, surprised, hopeful, etc....I’m proud of their growth -especially the parents. I wish I could just give Tatenda a huge hug ! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much Bookie for taking time to watch!
What the hell does intersex have to do with the LGBTQ community?
D Jack Because they naturally do not conform to the gender binary.
It's like the one drop rule.
If you're not completly what is viewed as the norme, you are the other or others. Stupid indeed.
Exactly

As an advocate and community organization cofounder (Chalkforchangepgh) I am proud to have taken the time to educate myself today. I am disappointed that in Pittsburgh we just had the biggest pRide and I don’t think intersex persons were included not implemented properly...Not only as a man but as an activist and advocate for humans. ALL HUMANS ! Also I am proud to now be able to share this information on my platforms and with my followers. To facilitate a conversation that will not only support a community that we do not often acknowledge but also to help them learn how to better support the intersex community moving forward. Also if I can I make any promises I’d like to say that I PROMISE every intersex person in these comments that pride 2020 in Pittsburgh will not forget you again!
