What color did you use for the main grisaille method? Do you recommend this color for baby skin because I noticed that you use indigo blue for adult faces in your present portraits? This video was very interesting to watch, thanks for sharing!
Hey Debbie, @iloveoregon99, good to hear from you and you're welcome! I often start with Dark Indigo #157 or Caput Mortuum #169 in Polychromos by Faber-Castell because they're fluid and the pigment can be easily moved on the surface with a dry brush. In this portrait I used Caput Mortuum as my starting Grisaille underpainting. I used that muted red color this time because the features of this baby are very soft. For me, the colors I choose also depend on the overall value and color key. But I think overall starting with Caput Mortuum is a good choice for fair skin. I'm glad you liked it!
so cool. I use this all the time. Acrylic, digital and colored pencil
Yep! It just makes everything so much simpler. :)
This is so helpful. May I ask what paper you are using?
I'm using white Pastelmat by Clairefontaine. I'm glad you found this helpful. :)

@@iloveoregon99 You're welcome! :)
What colour do you use for the under drawing with the grisaille technique.
Hi there, most of the time I use either Caput Mortuum in Polychromos, or Dark Indigo. I hope that helps. :)
Thank you very, much appreciated.
You're welcome!
