A solid performer. Very stable after warm-up and even suitable for quality RTTY
reception. The AVC release time is a bit long. The somewhat ugly carry handle may
be swivelled down to angle the receiver, or swung up over the top of the receiver.
Shown above with optional SP-100 Speaker. A good receiver.

I can confirm the black cover on the back is for 13.2v input. Mine has it, must be a later version

Remote socket is indeed to mute the audio when hooked to a transceiver

Well the antenna connector arrived and after fitting it got nothing from the radio, I even clipped the long wire to it and all it improved was the noise, no signals at all. I recently found an online SDR site, no need for an external SDR you tune their's. This far outways what I've been doing. So looks like I bought a duff Trio, sure it looks OK but it isn't doing the job, I'm dissapointed.

I just bought same model, I got the wrong anatenna connrctor so waiting for another to arrive, so for now using a long wire but 2 places at the rear to connect I'm still experimenting which is best as I never got a maunel with mine. What antenna are you using and how is it connected?

The paint they used on those seems to come off very easily. I like mine, but they have a fairly high noise floor.

I think mine had a fairly hard life before I bought it! Interesting about the noise floor. I will have to try and compare it to my other RX's. It is certainly better in that respect than the Target HF3 for example

@@KevinOReillyswl I had a Target HF3 - spent ages spinning the tuning control as no direct input. In end drives you nuts!
