Tbh it looks almost canon. People are forgeting what dust suppose to be. He is mad man, he doesnt care if he is playing fair now, morales are shatered, no food? Your problem, want to have a break? Your problem, dust wants you dead, no matter what it will take him. I want more dust fan games like this, no dialogs because you know how far you have gone, no breaks you dont deserve them, no food you dont have rights to do it now.
Something I saw somewhere is sans deciding to bury you alive knowing full well you’ll just come back eventually to fight him again, he’s not even fighting for a win or a loss, just to ensure you face as much suffering as he can possibly inflict on you
Death from asphyxiation in a buried wooden coffin can take a few hours, especially when we play as a kid, toddler, who uses a bit less oxygen than an adult and is smaller (thus having room for more air in the coffin than an adult would). Survival instincts kicking in? - desperately trying to get out, like scratching with your nails in hopes of breaking the wood to then dig through the dirt, most likely just wearing down your fingernails, probably also the fingertips, ending with just bloody fingers full of splinters, maybe even some bones' tips visible? Yeah, I agree. This Sans surely knows how to "discourage" the human from reloading upon death and just giving up.
I love how the soundtrack doesn't put much attention on itself. It's like the game isn't giving you a chance to groove to a funky beat... As all you can hear is the urgency of the situation, and perhaps the deterioration of Sans' mind. The music absent of his typical jazz-like swagger, emphasizing ego death.
A rare instance where the sheer difficulty tries to represent the story well. It's Sans, my guy is busted. Now as he gives it his all, he ABSOLUTELY pummels you to bits, he REALLY NEED YOU DEAD. The attack patterns and movements sell it, and of course, the actual *"getting to the point"* with all show and NO talk, because Sans doesn't wanna talk SHIT after what you did.
@@Kirbyenjoyer2010and before you say "i said "it was the closest thing"" THERE IS ALREADY AN ORIGINAL FANGAME YEARS YEARS AGO. And also this is more close to a canon dustdust AU than dusttale. So if you change or mean dustdust you are right, perhaps this is prequel to dustdust OR weak dustdust.
To be fair, this take on Dusttale feels way closer to sans character than even the canon one. Bc I dont think that sans would ever kill his brother, but when human killed papyrus and sans killed any other character we cant really fight (except toriel and asgore) makes more sense, implying that he did that on the background while human had almost normal genocide route (with every key boss alive, except tori), but with missing asgore and alphys.
1:34 start of my favorite part, it's just chaotic, it seems like he fully broke down and just wants you dead even more than he already does if that's possible
The most accurate Dust take ever, but you know what could be even more accurate? If Sans would instantly kill human with that one attack that kills you no matter what when you spare sans in undertale, but yeah, if it would be like that, the game would be basically boring❤❤
I'd prefer to see it as the human being horrendously resilient, but of course, the time comes when Sans DOES fucking shred you. He knows he can't kill you with one hit, why not bring the ENTIRE FUCKING BRIGADE. As for the final hit, I think I perceive all those attacks as a way to disorient the human until they fall into said trap.
I dunno if I’m right, but I’m pretty sure that the reason sans does that attack (and the reason you can kill sans) is because the humans guard was down, so they didn’t expect it, again, I’m not ENTIRELY sure.
Idusthane is kinda the most canon possible way to act from dust, but honestly, i can undertand it, omori by the drawings, and ultrakill because the breakcore feels so cool omg
I think my favourite thing about this fangame is how so many of the bone attacks are lopsided and intentionally messy. It gives this just utterly ruthless and desperate feeling to the attacks that perfectly reflects dust sans' mental state and intensity in this take, throwing everything he has at you in one go instead of the usual more extended and refined dusttale sans fight
@@True_King_of_Curses I meant emotionally tolled in his mind, not because she was difficult to actually kill. Sans and Tori have a lot of interactions post neutral and pacifist endings.
An ego death is the complete loss of one's former sense of self. I think that's fitting for Sans here, considering that he's probably broken after all the killing he's had to do to stop the human. He's not cracking any jokes, or making any bad puns. He's not trying to reason with us. Heck, he isn't even speaking. This is almost nothing like the Sans we previously knew. Because of this, I think it's reasonable to assume Sans has underwent an ego death.
i know the name is egodeath but in my heart this song is called "eat shit and die" because that's exactly what i did while listening to it for the first time
I got bored so i put it on 2 times speed and it sounds like someone trying to knock on a door really fast, just imaging some landlord trying to get rent but the person isn't opening the door, or a drummer is having a mental breakdown lol
As much i don't like empty dialogue fight, this version does not really need it to be one of best short fights Sans really executed his entire race ( except himself ) to lose himself except one goal: to make human suffer slowly, no matter how many times until they eventually lose determination. I know the faceless has LV 10 but the desc in gamejolt confirms that sans killed every monsters, and i mean EVERYthing.
I thought so too, but that blast in the end probably implies that asgore got killed not by clover blast, rather by sans gaster blaster, bc wall is not broken, also in the fight cutscene we can see that sans killed asgore. So yeah, its just normal undertale
infact, fanon Dust ain't that bad, if we look closely into it, it's not that Sans wants to do it, he HAS to kill other monsters to gain more power, it's quite logical why he's nervous in the ruins or snowdin, he's on the EDGE of breaking down to mental insanity, what im saying is, if this Dust would be an example for waterfall one or even further, it would be pretty accurate since he snapped, he didn't care about feelings or anything.
Are you talking about the fight or the way the character is portrayed? The fight is flawed, but as for the character imo its pretty accurate for sans to be dead serious and almost empty, considering what he’s done to get to this point
@@greatdragon9148 I mean yeah I understand he'd be really empty and dead serious at this point. But it just feels like it wasn't really for the sake of how he would "actually act" and more or less to make him much more edgier than Dusttrust, though I respect your opinion if you like him.
@@LeeMagiki personally think this is a better take on dust sans since he just gets straight to the point and goes all out on the player.. it’s not too edgy since he’s just looking down
I think it makes sense for him to be empty and serious, as well as the fact that he'd probably have given up on trying to talk to the human knowing they'd never listen. But also conversely, they still somewhat kept his premature joking personality in the lead up to the fight, with him having super glued the box in the judgement hall shut, and put a baby door in the throne room.
