People want the growling V8. This won't sell anywhere near the numbers the V8 did. My mate has the E63s V8 and thanks Mercedes for making his car's resale value better.
Your argument would be valid, if this were the E63. But if you had paid any attention you would have realised this is not an E63, but an E53 which has always had a 3 liter straight 6 engine.
It’s all irrelevant, AMG is just a trim package now. Mercedes, just like BMW, is about badges and status chasers more than making something their enthusiast customer actually wants.

Merc rly increased their build quality once again. Those panel gaps are so precise and small, the rear bumper even looks like it's a part of the rear end, rather than a seperate part.

Overall, in my opinion, the 2024 E53 supersedes the 2024 BMW 5 Series. For the first time, this machine looks mean, fun, and solid.
it's NOT a twin turbo! get the stats right!
BMW V8s in high end 5 series, aswell as 6 cylinders in the high end 3 series will definitely win with sales.
So the C63 got a bs four cylinder.. And this e53 gets a sweet straight six. Make it make sense.

This is an e53, not an e63. Its rival is 550i.

I assume the E63 will have a V8 otherwise why would anyone go for this over an M5 as Mercedes are known to have cheaper interiors and not as good to drive.
Not sure about this car.
Why? BMW M3 and Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio take 3.9s to 100km/h. No batteries, although the M3 is a heavy pig.

The car is neither pretty or menacing the estate looks better aa a result Dash horrible - driver centric dashes are like 80s BMWs look better and more relevant
God this thing looks plasticky and cheap on the outside. The straight six is probably quite nice, but it won't please V8 fans and it seems like a pointless exercise. This car is really no more sustainable than if it were a V8. And you can cheat the figures with plugin in hybrid with a V8 as much as an I6. Anyway, I suspect Mercedes are already regretting going aggressive with reducing cylinder count on these new AMG cars.
This isn't an E63.
This is an E53 so it was always an inline 6. Mercedes didnt have the choice on reducing the cylinder count on other models, CO2 legislation has dictated it. Essentially every smaller AMG they sell as lower CO2 Hybrid instead of big V8 is another couple of G-Wagons they can sell without missing their CO2 average.
