Actually, Hansi was a lot more active in the early days of the channel (when they were still known as "Natural Nerd"). In the olden days, Hansi had his own dedicated videos. Martina used to be the more camera shy and soft-spoken one. As Martina got more confident in front of the camera, they eventually figured out their "shtick" and the formula for their content about 4 years ago, with Martina being more the presenter and the face of the channel and adding the "skjer'a Bagera" catchphrase (Norwegian rhyme slang)
This project literally had EVERYTHING I LOVE about Nerdforge!! From silly humor, Martina's painting, having more Hansi in the video, building dioramas, resin pours, lighting magic and just truly a nerdy, awesome project!! One of my favorites hands down! Well done!!
Hiya, just a tip with liquid latex for molding, you can add flour to it to thicken it however much you need so you can build it up and use it like a clay. To smooth it out, just use more latex!! I've use this method for a lot of my textured artworks and molds, and many also use this method for sfx makeup. 7:11
I haven't seen this mentioned enough: it looks sooo much like the card in the game! Really brought it to life. And that's coming from someone who's played this card in game probably hundreds of times over the years. Kudos.
I love the RUclips art community and how supportive and collaborative they are. Jazza calling out NerdForge with the rugs and then Martina calling out Jazza with the card dioramas. I've followed both of these channels for years this just makes me dance inside 🥰 Oh and as far away as they are from each other, I NEED a collab someday!
I am really glad to see Hans taking a more forward roll in some of these videos. His practical view to Martina's chaotic energy is a perfect match! You really are an adorable pair. And my absolute favorite craft and art channel.
For sure! The balance between the two is immaculate. My favorite moment that highlights this was a video where he was explaining that his part would be difficult and complicated, and he goes, "But Martina wants the ~°•aesthetic•°~ *sarcastic shoulder shimmy*." Gets me every time🤣
This whole project is amazing! 🤩 I think the only tiny thing that I might have done differently is add something behind the blue jewel to either make it glow or reflect light. Even just sticking some aluminum foil to the back might have worked, though silver leaf or a larger sheet of mirror sticker would have been best. Adding a bit of light or some dichroic film to the resin (or both) would have made it look a tiny bit more magical. That's a small thing though. 😅 The Bob Ross segment had me cackling like a chibi demon. Very appropriate. 😂 Hanzi was so enthusiastic and cute during this project. It's so nice to see him getting more comfortable with being on camera. 😊 I was actually surprised that you hadn't heard about the mirror stickers before. It's very common for crafters and for people with kids or pets that want to have mirrors without the danger. It comes in small sheets for cards and crafts like the ones you found to large rolls generally used for putting a full length mirror on the back of a door with no extra weight. I think you can even find color tinted versions, gold mirrors are the most common I've seen apart from normal mirror sticker. It's pretty awesome stuff. 😁👍🏼 I'm so impressed with this whole thing. Well done! 👏🏻😲
Its so lovely to to see Hansi in a more active role in a video. It's easy to forget how much he actually does for the channel. Its nice to be reminded. Great project too!
Having watched Nerdforge videos a long time I'd argue Hansi's presentation skills have definitely developed a lot. For me part of the appeal is watching two wonderful people learning and developing their skills. Otherwise I could just watch some soulless professionally produced TV studio production. Hansi: you're doing great ❤
Amazing video and the final result looks soooooo good! I think you absolutely nailed the look of the in-game art! If you really wanted to take it to 11, two minor suggestions I have would be: 1) adding a smoke machine to have clouds billowing out from the firelands through the portal, and 2) having the LEDs (if they are capable of it) flickering with random cadence to really get at the moving nature of fire and lava. Other than that, though, no notes! This is already next level as is! Great work!
I want that Bob Ross segment as a whole episode.... Also, "if you can't beat the adhd, become one with it" is going to be the quote I live by from now on.

Probably one of the most amazing Build/Project AND piece of video content you guys have ever done ! Your videos are always amazing and inspire a lot of us everyday, but this was just on another level. Congrats on everything, you guys are the best, much love
"He who works with his hands is a worker. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist." Best wishes from Tuscany (Italy)! I'm a small crafsman (leather and wood), i have been following you since years! You are fantastic artists, you work with heart!
Some of my favourite things about this video are: a very energetic Hansi, sweet Nori, using plaster to fortify the moulds (great idea), The giant gem, the lights, the epic montage dressed as an elf, the Hacksmith lightsaber (just randomly getting used!) the music (as always) the Bob Ross segment (all of it) the satisfying spray painting and of course the final result! (Looking exactly like the original but so much cooler with the mirrors in the portal).
Your in such a league of your own with these masterpieces you create that it doesn't matter how much competition you would get from other channels , your quality and creativity will always keep you miles above the rest. I'm awestruck how realistic life-size card look you got on that. How do you get the colors so realistically to what an actual card colors are. Pure talent.
This is so close to the actual card, it's incredible! And you guys did such an amazing job with all the effects and lighting! Seriously, one hell of a job!!
I wish we could wee the looks on the reps of these companies that buy whole videos when they see The Final Result! I bet they feel like it’s Christmas. And they get the video too!
Every project has always been amazing. But, in this video, I was so happy and amused with Hansi's enthuse, like it was so good to see him more on camera, even though he does a lot of work behind it. And the whole segment from 5:24 to 5:52 starting with ''Hello fellow RUclips watchers!!'' 😂 till Martina's reaction... Loved that.
This was amazing! The project, the filming, the humour, the cooperation between Martina and Hanzi and the end result! 🥰 I really enjoyed watching this video. Really liked seeing more of Hanzi's work this time, a lot of the time we don't really see the things he does in the background. And the result is amazing, I do hope it'll go on display somewhere and won't just collect dust in your warehouse.
I only found two differences, but the fact that you made the 2 dimensional card look much more awesome in 3d makes those small differences irrelevant and unnoticeable. I love how you bent both pictures, used mirror and lighting and paint and perspective. I am happy that your math and engineering worked splendidly. Also, the jewels looked very good. Good job, much clapping and appreciation, lovely.
It’s perfect. It actually looks like a portal floating in the middle of a room. The front of the diorama looks like it’s behind the back. It’s breaking my brain.
Not gonna lie, the first thing I thought of when Hansi was holding up the template was that it would look amazing if transferred to a rug. Do y'all still have those tufting supplies?
"descriptive geometry" is the keyword here. It teaches you how to construct and not just aim a certain depth, shortening and stretching and so on. It is really cool to look into!
Jazza once did a perspective experiment thing by painting a clear bowl to encompass the viewer's vision; y'all should collab and bring your painting skills and his ambition together to paint a bowl large enough to truly "step into" whatever world you decide to create!
Okay so hear me out what if they did it with chalk at a skate park as a proof of concept first like a world you could fall into. Aren't there some giant half circle shapes at skate parks? They'd have to get permission of course but if they could do it, it would be super cool!
It looks GORGEOUS!! The only thing I would suggest adding is a little flicker. Having especially the fire (but maybe the lava too) have some movement in the light would make it feel so much more dynamic.
That was beyond incredible!! The 3D carving and the flaming portal with the mirrored finish was a stroke of genius! This is just my thoughts because as I said before, genius! I would have liked to see the slightest illumination under the gem stones but maybe that would have detracted from the diorama. And you might have tried it and it just didn’t look good. Sometimes I don’t know when to stop when I’m creating. It can be a big problem for me. But I still say GENIUS!!❤
I love that we can see Hansi more in this video! You are both so talented, every video you just get better and better and I don't even know how that's possible 😭
I would call it crazy cool. I'm really impressed with how good it looks. It needs to go to a convention. Nice to see Hansi on camera... and TALKING!!. more please.
I gotta say, your artworks always make me want to use my engineering skills for good. Dioramas, robots, CPU, a coffee machine, and so much more!!!. What's next? A moving talking table? The possibilities are endless!!!! Also, that elf costume looks fabulous!!!
You nailed it. A+++ I think you captured the essence of the card perfectly. It's a joy to watch your creative process. Props for the cameo elf craft on the fire ring and the Bob Ross segment.
Yes loved Hansi doing the outside of the game card design - using an airbrush. 😍 I know it's not really his wheelhouse, but I was really surprised how good he was in the painting learning video. A lot of it is experience - doing things over and over again and learning from mistakes. But it's also really looking and seeing details of how things look and not just the whole picture/impression. Martina did a wonderful job with the fireland painting❤ Really ties in everything together
Bringing both of yours skills together, every style and method to make art all in one, shout outs to other crafters, including the Hacksmith mini saber (which is an awesome tool, I know) and making something the game company should be proud to put in their lobby, makes for a total package video. This was a terrific build!
The level of excitement from them both was amazing. I love seeing how passionate they both can get with a project. It really shows in the final result. Amazing work.
YO MARTINA CROSSED HERSELF AT THE MENTION OF RESIN🤣 I feeeelt that. Anyway this was AMAZING! It has never even occurred to me to make something like an illusion diorama (shoutout to Jazza the King of RUclips Art!!), but this came out incredible as always!!!❤ Also "Always start with the cool stuff" is a great motto lol. I've never been an "eat the frog kinda person," so also I feel this heheh. And the Bob Ross meets Hellscape painter was just 👌🏼🔥 Also also. Ever since the last video, I'm so excited to report that I FINALLY found an almost perfect configuration of my room!!! It's my bedroom, office, and arts/crafts corner, and it's taken me 7 years to get to this point. But I'm so freaking happy finally. Thank you NerdForge for the everlasting inspiration you provide to the world!💕💕💕
Totally a success. There's only 1 thing I believe it can be done as improvment. Some dry brushing on the inner part of the portal . All around the rocks and especially on the castle with bright orange and some edging with off white so it will pop-out and stand out. Because right now it really looks a bit toned down
Either the lighting of the castle on the original card is totally crap (which I think is the real reason) or the castle could have done with a slightly lighter tone. It was the first thing I noticed, too. The details on the castle are way more visible on the original card. But still the 3D-card is way cooler. Great project and a great result.
I just love how into it Hansi is in this video, the energy... LOL He has totally integrated into the dynamic of the videos and the style, its so nice to see their interactions. It's just hilarious becase Martina at the beginning of the video was the super hyped one saying "yes, yes!!!" and then at around 5:40 it's Hansi doing the explanations all enthusiastic slapping the wood and Martina has the sort of expression of "oh my god, I created a monster". 🤣 I have to admit I really can't care less about the card they are making of an unknown game to me, but I watched the entire video just because its so fun and entertaining seeing them while I'm crafting.
Can I just say that I've been watching you guys for years and its always such a pleasure to see how creative you guys are. I'm from an island in the caribbean called Trinidad & Tobago and as an IT nerd I just love your channel and the projects you do and collaborations. Thank you so much for being so entertaining and for being such a creative force. love you guys....
I remember you had the same doubts about perspective with the rug carving video but we all remember how that turned out. Freakin' AWESOME, of course! Whenever you or Hans have doubts, just remember one thing. We viewers never doubt you for a second. And I love that you show your videos and include the failed attempts, on the rare occasions you fail, before you fix them. Most other channels will air their videos and be like, "Easy peasy, chilly breezy" but not too many other creators will show their videos, warts and all.
It was amazing! But when i saw Hansi working with the silicone, i thought of an alchemist working with potions... Imagine turning his workspace into a Sci-Fi laboratory or something like that?
This is just BEYOND!! Absolute next level of craftsmanship!! I also loved seeing more of Hansi bringing his amazing contribution!! And also, Martina, I am in complete AWE of your paint job, especially the castle!
Hullo Martina & Hansi, this is freaking awesome!!! I have worked on parade floats and similar stuff. You only have to worry about the judges being 4 to 6 feet away, so you can get away with so much more. You created a perfect version of the card at a very close inspection point of inches! Truly phenomenal! Thank you for sharing this experience with us! You are truly inspirational and so amazing. All of those supporting you Patreons and sponsors are to be saluted and thanked, Thank You!
Aside from the sheer artistry in this video… I’m dying to know where Martina got like all her outfits?? The awesome cargo pants, the Creative Chaos jackets, the flame socks??
As someone who has played hearthstone since the beginning, and never watched one of your videos, you guys did an amazing job. Wow the whole thing is amazing, and so much fun with the fire and all the lighting effects!
Been watching for a long time and never commented before. But my one like was just not enough this time. You've outdid yourself... AGAIN! The Bob Ross parody was fire, literally. And it's great seeing Hansi getting more comfortable in front of the camera. Never stop creating.
Re the Latex Mold (or using it for mask/prop/prosthetics making): Adding corn starch/fine corn flour to the liquid latex in small amounts can thicken it up well, and it is fine enough to not reduce too much detail, especially if you brush thin layers on first. However, using it for molds can sometimes be difficult, as a lot of latex will have a sulfur content, which can cause platinum cure silicones to not set and remain permanently sticky, which i've heard affects some, but not all, resins too. As i haven't used it for resin molds myself i can't be certain
Great result. One tip for the gem. If you add a mirrored backing to the gem, it will look much more sparkly. You will also obscure the edges behind the gem. Fantastic video as normal. Well done
You guys didn't succeed at making it look as good as the original, it looks so much better! The temple in the middle really stands out and is so menacing looking in your version. Awesome work guys!
I think it looks absolutely amazing. The only thing I could think of to make it even more like the original card or to make it look a bit more "portal" like would be some kind of very transparent cover over the portal hole.
I'm honoured, thanks for the salute! This project was absolutely MIND BLOWING! stunning work as always!! ❤

"He who works with his hands is a worker. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist."
Best wishes from Tuscany (Italy)! I'm a small crafsman (leather and wood), i have been following you since years! You are fantastic artists, you work with heart!
Einen Herzlichen Dank für das Zitat zu Beginn!
@@thorfalkstoll 💪🏻❤️
Some of my favourite things about this video are: a very energetic Hansi, sweet Nori, using plaster to fortify the moulds (great idea), The giant gem, the lights, the epic montage dressed as an elf, the Hacksmith lightsaber (just randomly getting used!) the music (as always) the Bob Ross segment (all of it) the satisfying spray painting and of course the final result! (Looking exactly like the original but so much cooler with the mirrors in the portal).
Martina=Queen of hearts. I love Hansi's top. Martina being Bob Ross, is brilliant.
This is soooo freakin amazing, perfectly executed, omg you guys have pure talent in making those things
Good job, much clapping and appreciation, lovely.
happy to see hansi being more energetic this looks amazing ❤❤❤
Wow seeing that Martinas crazyness, um i mean creativeness is affecting Hanzi aswell, the result looks amazing
You know I was wondering if the amounts of energy in this video have anything to do with recent coffee machine projects 😂😉
Ohmygosh yes the structure of it all would be perfect for a rug!
Or a wall tapestry! Even a headboard for a bed! ❤!!!
You want to see Martina go crazy? That's how you see Martina go crazy.
the lil goblin run from martina in the beginning is hilarious
"descriptive geometry" is the keyword here. It teaches you how to construct and not just aim a certain depth, shortening and stretching and so on. It is really cool to look into!
The pain of painting bit was comedy gold
Jazza once did a perspective experiment thing by painting a clear bowl to encompass the viewer's vision; y'all should collab and bring your painting skills and his ambition together to paint a bowl large enough to truly "step into" whatever world you decide to create!
That would be such a cool collab, like damn!
Yes that would be great. Maybe right after the rug tufting competition colab that jazza kind of promised
They had kind of a collab on tenhundreds "worlds biggest art-collab"-series on youtube
Okay so hear me out what if they did it with chalk at a skate park as a proof of concept first like a world you could fall into. Aren't there some giant half circle shapes at skate parks? They'd have to get permission of course but if they could do it, it would be super cool!
Maybe William needs some sick decorations around him so he won't feel so lonely
That's what I thought too! Definitely design his little corner/alcove into a space to be comfortable and attractive❤!!!
It looks GORGEOUS!!
The only thing I would suggest adding is a little flicker. Having especially the fire (but maybe the lava too) have some movement in the light would make it feel so much more dynamic.
absolutely incredible! My favorite part is the firelands themselves, such a great job carving and painting and lighting!
"When tools are your only friends... then... just use them" 😂
That was beyond incredible!!
This is totally “off the hook”, which in the US is how you describe a delicious meal with your fav desert.
I know it's not really his wheelhouse, but I was really surprised how good he was in the painting learning video.
A lot of it is experience - doing things over and over again and learning from mistakes. But it's also really looking and seeing details of how things look and not just the whole picture/impression.
Martina did a wonderful job with the fireland painting❤
Really ties in everything together
Bringing both of yours skills together, every style and method to make art all in one, shout outs to other crafters, including the Hacksmith mini saber (which is an awesome tool, I know) and making something the game company should be proud to put in their lobby, makes for a total package video. This was a terrific build!
Wow Hansi is so active on the camera now, It's great seeing your team dynamic in action 🖤
It has never even occurred to me to make something like an illusion diorama (shoutout to Jazza the King of RUclips Art!!), but this came out incredible as always!!!❤
Also "Always start with the cool stuff" is a great motto lol. I've never been an "eat the frog kinda person," so also I feel this heheh.
And the Bob Ross meets Hellscape painter was just 👌🏼🔥
Also also.
Oh my gosh, YES! That would be amazing for him!
I am amazed with painting job that brings up whole fire light effect on the first plan stones. Like REALLY amazed
Seeing the amount of work Hansi does being showcased more is great. I’ve come to appreciate how creative he is as well as Martina
14:02 that ring of fire really was the cool part! That looks awesome! 😊
Amazing job. What a fantastic diorama. Great to see you get more opportunities for great collaborations. The Martina Ross part was brilliant.
8:45 the cut between meticulous Hans to chaotic Martina was excellent.
Aside from the sheer artistry in this video… I’m dying to know where Martina got like all her outfits?? The awesome cargo pants, the Creative Chaos jackets, the flame socks??
the both of you are just killing it. it is so fun to see how much the quality of your work has improved, not that it was ever bad.
19:31 "when tools are your only friends, just use them." best quote ever 😂✨
The pain of painting could be it’s own show. I loved it
Loved getting to see more of Hansi! His energy and contributions to this were awesome
As someone who has played hearthstone since the beginning, and never watched one of your videos, you guys did an amazing job. Wow the whole thing is amazing, and so much fun with the fire and all the lighting effects!
Martina is giving full goblin chaos vibes and I'm here for it
Been watching for a long time and never commented before. But my one like was just not enough this time. You've outdid yourself... AGAIN! The Bob Ross parody was fire, literally. And it's great seeing Hansi getting more comfortable in front of the camera. Never stop creating.
5:40 Love Martina's expressions here 😅
Re the Latex Mold (or using it for mask/prop/prosthetics making):
Adding corn starch/fine corn flour to the liquid latex in small amounts can thicken it up well, and it is fine enough to not reduce too much detail, especially if you brush thin layers on first.
13:20 hacksmith mini saber!
I can't believe you did a WHOLE A** COSPALY for a montage
I think it looks absolutely amazing. The only thing I could think of to make it even more like the original card or to make it look a bit more "portal" like would be some kind of very transparent cover over the portal hole.
Amazing! I love how it literally looks like something straight out of a video game. especially in your fantasy studio.
