  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness featured many cameos and crossovers fans have been waiting to see. Not only do we get our first confirmed mutant in the MCU, with Professor Charles Xavier--but fans finally got their fan-casting wish, seeing John Krazinski play Mister Fantastic, leader of the Fantastic Four. A Fantastic Four movie is coming to the MCU--soon. But who will Marvel's first family enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe? We have some thoughts.

    #DrStrange #FantasticFour #ReedRichards
The fantastic 4 are finally in the MCU… well sort of. John Krasinski is our Mister Fantastic, and that’s a fan casting dream come true. Which quickly turned into a nightmare, after Wanda shredded Reed into spaghetti.
But Marvel studios is working on a Fantastic 4 movie, so Krasinski will probably return as mister fantastic very soon. And I assume that it’s a pakedge deal, so Emily Blunt will join him as Sue Storm.
So we got to talk about how the Fantastic 4 will be introduced, now that we met a version of Reed from another universe.
Multiverse of Madness gave us some hints on what we can expect from the Fantastic 4, and how they will be introduced. And with so much happening with the multiverse, that’s how the fantastic 4 could fit into the larger scale of the MCU. And probably play a key role in the years to come.
But before we get to the MCU’s Fantastic 4 movie, let’s first explore the mister fantastic we got in multiverse of madness.
Earth-838’s Reed Richards is described as the smartest man alive. And that’s what he is in the comics. Reed is the most intelligent person on the planet. And he also has his signature stretchy limbs.
He uses a teleportation device to make his grand entrance in the Illuminati chamber. A teleporter that kinda reminds of the time traveling portals the TVA uses. And is it just me or does his grand entrance kinda feels like a video game’s character's entrance?
Also, Reed is probably the one who built the Ultron bots. He’s the smartest man alive, so that’s why in this universe’s Ultron didn’t turn into a murder-bot, and instead the peace-keeping-AI he was meant to be. So this confirms that Reed is a hell of a lot smarter than Tony.
When Mordo introduces Reed as a member of the Fantastic 4, Stephen jokingly asks “didn’t you guys chart in the 60’s”. And this could be a lot… maybe.
This joke is a wink to fans, because the Fantastic 4 made their comics debut in 1961.
But this remark is also in reference to a fan theory that garnered a lot of steam recently. This theory is that the Fantastic 4 will come from the 60’s. With the speculation that they were stuck somewhere in space or the quantum realm or some other place for the last 60 years.
And this is all mostly based on the ideas of Peyton Reed, who was developing a Fantastic 4 movie in early 2000’s. Reed, by the way, is the director of the Ant-Man movies. His dream project was a Fantastic 4 movie that is set in the 60’s. He pitched it, and instead we got this.
So I guess you could speculate that Stephen’s remark about the 60’s is in reference to that. Because you can make the connection between the word “chart” and charting a course….maybe on a spaceship that goes to space.
Well it’s that or it’s just a clever Easter-egg to the Fantastic four music band. Who’s song “The Whole World is a Stage” made it to the Billboard charts in the 60’s. And yeah that’s a real thing.
And remember, Stephen is a music aficionado. So I guess it’s best to not put too much stock into this 60’s remark. Funny how fans jump to conclusions so fast just with a few key words.
The 60’s direction sounds like it could be interesting, because it’s a previously unexplored era. And maybe it could play into the idea that the Fantastic 4 are Marvel’s first family. So in the MCU they will be the first real superhero team, pre-dating the Avengers.
But I got to level with you, I’m not sure if I want to see that in the MCU.
Marvel already has a few out-of-time characters: Steve Rogers, Bucky, Janet van Dyne and Carol Danvers. So it’s not such a fresh take anymore. Honestly, the whole 60’s thing just feels too much like an unnecessary gimmick.
And yeah, I get it, there is something really compelling about doing a time period movie with the Fantastic 4. But I also think that fans gravitated toward this idea for the same reasons why people keep fan casting John Krasinski and Emily Blunt for Reed and Sue.

I think placing them "out of time" is the only way it'll make sense. We don't WANT to see yet another FF origin story... just like the X-Men. I just want them to already be fleshed out... which they already are from past movies. Unfortunately, the Fantastic Four would need to be established in the past and reintroduced in the present. Janet, the OG Wasp, could be the way we find them because I do think Dr Strange will go LOOKING for Reed Richards thinking there should be one in this universe - only to find out they went missing in the 60s... enter the Ant-Man squad. They'll find them in the Quantum Realm and bring them home.

But he doesn't kill them because this version of Kang assumes that if Reed and Sue dies, he would no longer exist. As for the X-Men. They could introduce them the same way in the comics. Why not combine both ideas and have a retro 1960s fantastic 4 adrift in the galaxy they are exploring. For Reed Richards to be impressive he really needs to have some really cool technology that's more advanced even in the alien technology we've seen, so it would make sense if he has been exposed to alien technology and learned from it. They could introduce them in the next Captain Marvel film.

I could see a F4 film doing something similar to Captain Marvel or Captain America in how they start the story in one time but then end it in present day. Steve gets frozen, and Danvers goes off to fight bad guys in other parts of the galaxy.
With the first family it could be that they have been around the whole time but have been fighting threats from the quantum realm (Such as Kang) and we know from Scott that "time works differently in the quantum realm" and as such they've been trapped there for years (our time) but only really days (their time)
Scenario two, which I think would also be very on brand, involves Reed creating some sort of light speed engine that malfunctions and leaves them flying away from earth at relativistic speeds that means that decades pass on earth while only a few weeks or even months pass for them on the ship. Maybe the ship and drive they built is related to the one that Mar-Vell was working on. Also, it could be that the malfunction they experience ties back to how they got their powers. Again similar to carols origin.
Scenario 3 is they exist now, and get their powers in the present day through some freak accident

If I were to pull the F4 into the MCU, I'd actually go for a variant coming into the MCU. That would allow the stranger in strange land gimmick again, but keep it fresh. Have them fight something/one other than Doom or Galactus, then end with them coming to the MCU and buying the old Avengers Tower area and make it the Baxter building or something. After credits have some sort of nod to Doom being interested in them and have Nathaniel find leftover Stark tech to potentially become Iron Lad.

The teams origin should see them working with SHIELD to unlock the powers of the Tesseract (just before Avengers 2012)
Reed, Sue, Ben and Johnny are all working on replicating the device that Zola used in First Avenger.
Their first device test is deemed a tragedy by SHIELD as the whole team disappears after the machine malfunctions during the test. However, it was a success and the four of them are transported to another dimension/universe.
From here the team try in vain to recreate the device and travel back home, only to bounce from reality to reality.
It’s during these trips through dozens of different universes they encounter Kang and become the inspiration for his own pursuit of multiverse travel.
This origin will explain where they have been this whole time and justify Reed being so smart as he’s spend the last decade learning all there is to know from alien and future civilisations in an attempt to get his family home.

FF can have traditional origin being in space when a gamma accident happens due to snap (Banner said energy of the stones were closest to gamma). A worm-hole gets created along with the explosion, and F4 gets sucked into worm hole (Quantum realm) as they are being dusted. When Hulk reverse-snap, F4 returns but in Quantum realm. Movie not only is with them dealing with their new powers/appearance, but also exploring the QR before they eventually make their way back (due to Ant-man? Marvels? GotG3? those are three movies slated to release before FF). That way, when they return to Earth-616 to meet other heroes/villains, they are already full-fledged F4.
Meanwhile, Victor was on Earth when the blip happens. Goes into full-on Dark Tony Stark mode (army of robotos to protect the Earth), and starts to build his city (which was already established in TFAWS when small cities/resistance areas were rising post-blip to start their own government/rule) and begins his Dr. Doom journey.

They should have been doing a slow background build over time, and maybe there's still time. They aren't mutants so there's no need for a drastic introduction or time displacement. They can have TV in the background on National Geographic talking about gamma rays in space on Mrs. Marvel, linger on a newspaper headline about an experimental space study lead by top scientist Reed Richards in Wakanda Forever, and then a news special report about a shuttle incident involving the so called "Fantastic 4" in Quantumania. There are more organic ways of introducing new characters than just a ham fisted introduction in a single movie.

Maybe Earth 616 Reed Richards will actually be the "smartest man alive"
Here's some rules he should learn:
1). Don't tell the villain your plan.
2). Don't tell the villain your or a teammates powers.
    3). Don't go in without a plan.
4). Don't throw objects at a villain that has magical powers. Doom is included.
    5). Don't get cocky
6). Don't go in to attack the villain alone.
7). Actually listen if someone tells you that you won't be able to stop the villain
Or just do Snarts from Legends of Tomorrow rules:
make the plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go off the rails, throw away the plan.
    That works too

Best introduction of F4 would be...way back in 60s they were sent to a space mission for exploration and through worm hole they trapped on a planet far from earth like interstellar....there their age doesn't age like on earth 🌎. On a mission of saving something Captain Marvel find them helpless and turned superheroes fantastic 4s. Where she fights them and after defeating them and bring them on earth 616 like she brought tony stark. Also for X-men....Some powerful mutant had said in past - No more mutants and all mutants doesn't exist on 616. it could be Older Jean Grey 🥤 but Some villain from multiverse Uses genetics to make colonies in many universes of mutants. This way he/she plants mutants in 616 too. But instant of his/her puppets he/she got Good mutants and faught back to defeat evil ones and him/her too 🥤

Like how there might be no Vision in any other universe for Wanda, maybe no other universe has a Dr. Doom except the 616 one, so when 616 and another universe collide and merge, Billy and Tommy become real, but so does Franklin Richards and the fantastic 4. They come into conflict with Doom before he even becomes Dr. Doom in 616, maybe Franklin and the fantastic 4 arrive as teens, and same goes for Dr. Doom, maybe doom is a younger threat and the team is younger as well, which could create a very interesting dynamic between the Fantastic 4 and the new Young Avengers in the MCU.

As for the FF in the MCU. I think the best way to handle the FF is to have them be an episodic series that then also makes cameos or takes part in the Movies. The FF really needs the episodic series time to develop their family dynamic and reach into the deep back story of their adventurous exploits and the villains they have dealt with, which many times are deeply connected to them and their history.
I think it would be great to have them arrive back on Earth after having been on a deep space travel adventure which started back int eh 1960's. Due to time compression the experienced while they were space traveling, they were only gone for a few weeks but when they get back 60 years have gone by on Earth. This lets them be as they were during the 1960's and have anachronistic behavior, needing to catch up to today's world. They will also be suddenly very much more wealthy than when they left because the inventions that Reed had built for the FF to use were sold after their presumed deaths, and once they are back they are able to reclaim the rights to them and get billions of dollars for the licensing and such. some of them would be the Laptop computer, Cell phones, parts of the internet. This would also be a tie in with She-Hulk, who has been a member of the FF at times, to be their lawyer helping them to procure their lost rights and ownership.
The first season could be their origin and first encounters with some of the villains and troubles they had back in the 1960's. There could be one long story arch with some other smaller side plots in each season. Each season could be one of the early major FF story lines, and a couple side plots. After a couple seasons then integrate them into the Main MCU. Them returning to warn about the coming of Galactus on the trail of the Silver Surfer with a back flash story of the first visit by Galactus, and how they managed to get him to leave Earth, would be a good intro to the MCU.
Alice Eve Should be cast as Sue Storm.
I don't have a Johnny Storm choice, but I think he should be the same ethnicity as Sue.
I think Ben Grim would be great if played by a Black actor. Ben Grim's history and background much better fits that of a black man who worked himself out of the ghettos of NYC to become a fighter pilot, and an astronaut.
I believe her name is pronounced Va-Lair-E-Uh
