you should try this anyhow in Lucknow and i bet you that you have never had such cloud sweet... just take big spoon in mouth and it will be vanished like nothing, giving fresh flavour of elaichi, and kesar. They also garnish some rabdi and pista over. Best thing is, it is not heavy as any other sweet.
I read about this in Madhur Jaffrey's autobiography, she called it daulat ki chaat. She described it in almost mythological, mystical terms. I didn't know it was still available as she said it was hard to find, even in the 1940s/1950s. I so want to try it. In fact, I so love Indian culture and food I want to retire there and then I can try ERRTHANG!!!

I am from varanasi.....I have tasted it in Varanasi, Lucknow and Delhi......Delhi's daulat ki chaat is totally different from malaio of Varanasi and malai makhan of Lucknow...I like the malaio as they also provide the milk from which it is made after giving malaio...
