Very informative, helped clear up some questions I had about this. One tip would be use a night vision potion so we can see what is happening better. Especially when you were deep in the tunnel it was hard to see.
@@TheSnipemuck night vision as a status effect existed even if you couldn't make a potion for it, and many mod makers made use of status effects that didn't have corresponding potions. since this is modded, there's a decent chance whoever's watching this vid is also using a mod with some way to get night vision
Coal coke blocks work great as a fuel source. I had three running adjacent, did some sweet strip mining for about 700 block before i had to check on them.

In voltz the tunnel bore exists but the quarry doesn't so it has a use for gathering materials a bit faster but if I was using tekkit, I would use quarry over tunnel bore
It doesn't work for me. I can link the bore with my chest cart without problems, but the bore neither places things inside the cart, nor does it take them out, when it needs them. I'm using the newest version (for minecraft 1.7.2) and everything else does work properly.
Well I found a solution by now: there is a cart that automatically collects all items on its way (I don't know the name any more) so I just use this one, though it doesn't work for fuel

I think I would use a Steve's carts setup that mines 3x3, places torches and runs faster. (But I'm using ftb so it might not work for tekkit or voltz).
Is this compatible with MC 1.2.5? All these version numbers get confusing, took forever for me to get my tekkit server working between client and server, mods, etc. Learning every day... I honestly don't know which version of tekkit I'm running, lol.

I just cant seem to find a use for this thing. The quarry is better at gathering resorces and I cant think of any reason Id want a long straight 3x3 tunnle big enough to justify the investment. Has ANYONE found a solid use for this other that just to look cool?
its really usefull for making tunnels underground and shit. especially if you have a big railroad system in your world. also im using a railroad system for mining so i just place all the materials in the nearest cart then it will automatically go to the place its heading and then unload the materials and it will be sorted and the ones that need to be melted will be sent to the furnaces where it will be melted. although i havent figured out a way to automatically make the furnaces empty themselfes when the material is done
Great Video indeed, though you RUclips video makers, REALLY need to get into the habit (especially if your going to be in creative mode anyway) of using Night Vision Potions for video recording. again, though, Thank you for your wonderful instructional videos. =D

That thing is really slow.. doesnt seem worth it for all the materials you need
