The action and feel of the knife is SO GOOD for $5, unbeatable. I was sorely disappointed with the edge retention, dulled after just a few paper and plastic cuts. I think I built it up in my mind 😂.. but I'm going to resharpen and see how it really does. It's still highly recommendable to non-knife folks
A great feature of this knife that I haven't seen anyone mention yet, is that since the scales are white, you could very easily remove them and dye them any color that you like.
@@bullvei1976 Ive definitely considered it already. The orange dropout is back at my store and just sold out in a day. I bought a couple online. It’s still 10 bucks 😀 I use it every day and it’s still my favorite knife. And I have a few LOL
I almost bought two of these... Instead I bought 4. I mean, it was FIVE BUCKS! I actually got 1 each of 3 others as well, 2 fixed blades and the staghorn, but anyway, I was SHOCKED at how sharp these came! for FIVE BUCKS?!
Great review man. It’s an excellent knife for the price. I haven’t found any issues with mine even after taking it apart. Looking forward to cardboard slayer.
@ are you gonna try to do a 17° angle again. I need to buy an angled sharpener. I had seen one at a local pawn shop, but when I finally decided to go buy it. It was gone.
Bought this knife a week ago. I have a lot of knives, some worth over 100x this knife. It still finds its way in my pocket!! Also, if anyone has a spare dropout I’d be more than happy to buy one off of you! Yall took them all before I could get one!!
I put my dropout clip on my stormtrooper, fits perfect! Took some scale modification to make the stormtrooper clip fit the recess on the dropout, but it fits well too once modified. Cheers!
Nice, All the poopers in my local store were cleared out. I'll stop by and check again later today. Bummers about the missing screw... that would drive me nuts.
This is a perfect knife for what I’m going to do with it. I’m throwing it in my glovebox. That way when someone needs a knife when the buy something and want to open it in the car it’s there. Then they don’t bug me for my pocket knife 😂
I bought a couple and went back a week later for a few more because they are a great bargain… my store only had a couple dozen left… better get them before they are gone !!
I have 5, but I bought a few to give a couple away and if another smaller channel couldn't get one before they got yoinked by resellers I could help them out.
oh man thats a liner screw on a benchmade if that happened to my buggout it would affect blade centerage but that trail seems to be pretty salid. i just ordered myself a fixed blade in crue wear and one in magnacut, finally time to step up my carry game and get a neck knife
@@knivesiguess I saw you got it replaced too lol but the liner definitely wasn't popping out at all when the screw wasn't there. So that's really good would be reassuring that the screws aren't completely responsible for holding the knife together.
@@knivesiguess I had to sell half my knives to get it 🤣 stuck to the secondary market tho and found the magnacut one used but brand new in box an saved 40 bucks an got a leather sheath. The Cru wear was the one I really wanted and got the zero tolerance 0004 from blade hq
@knivesiguess I'm probably just being snobbish, I haven't beaten mine up yet to really say. I've just been spoiled with really nice steels. I recently relocated and took it with me alongside my Leatherman ARC which I usually carry, I'll beat it up soon enough.
3cr is absolutely crap steel and if there wasn't the axis lock and bearings on it, it wouldn't be special. The lock and bearings for $5 is the special part.

No problem! You may be able to order a couple on the website and have them delivered to your local if they aren't there. I know the one I finally found them at got stripped out within 2 days and I guarantee one guy got almost all of them.
Not sure if I've watched this channel or not before lol u said u wanted the old axis lock from them. I forget if it was last year or 2 years ago but I have a bunch still unopened. If the mark up is crazy I'll send one lol they just collecting dust.
Yeah, that green 1st gen was 2 years ago. If you have one shoot me an email and we can work something out. Also interested in the blue one from last year's gift set if you have one floating around.
for $5 bucks im ok with 3cr13 , bearings and a crossbar lock ....take the $5 you saved on the D2 model and buy a plain jane pocket wetstone and your golden .......STAY AWAY FROM CARDBOARD IT WILL WIPE THE EDGE WITH JUST A CUT OR TWO.

Oh yeah. Edge retention won't be great for sure. I suspect a new 18° per side edge will hold up way better.
I found that the pocket clip wouldn't slide over my jeans very well. Bent the tip of it out a bit further, and it works great now!
Mine did pretty good, but of coure your mileage may vary. I'm gonna miss having it on me a little bit now that the week is over.
One of its best features is the weight, very light in the pocket.
Indeed very lightweight. I wish I woulda thought about busting the scale out. I gotta remember on the aftermath video.
All in all on mine the action was great lockup good definitely worth the $5
100% worth the $5.

This one will get 18° per side at the most acute. I can guarantee the HRC won't support anything lower than that
I got mines a week ago been flicking all week! Best 5 bucks I ever spent!
They're so damn good

I've seen where Civivi clips also fit the Dropout and probably the Stormpooper as well.

I replaced the screw. Took a chrome one from a broken knife and ground it to length. The chrome's there just for the jank.

They're actually lasting longer than I expected at the stores. I guess some of the hype has died down.

OHHH NICE. I'm shopping around for my Deka in Magnacut right now.

Yeah, they've been a lot more easily available than I expected.
I found this randomly shopping Walmart, threw it in the buggy for $5 I'm impressed by the action. Blade is kinda crap, but eh it's a beater for me.
It seems to he 3cr with a pretty good heat treatment on it. I can't argue with it. This is the exact knid of thing I geek out over.

Maybe? The crowd of complainants is more varied than usual this time. Hard to pin down.
The orange Ozark is available at Walmart right now
I've been monitoring the website for a while, I missed the couple of hours where they were available.

Love the orange one. Wish it was easier to find.
That thing is my desk fidget now. It’s action is more satisfying than my Benchmade
I think I like my Benchmades a bit more for fidgeting but this thing still fidgets quite well.
Does anyone know? Do these axis lock knives by Ozark, only come out around the late fall or Christmas time. Or are they out in spring and summer?
They're seasonal. SO FAR aside from the orange Droupout they've only been November/December deals.
Thanks man. These are awesome deals.
Keep an eye out for a last year/this year comparison. The difference is crazy.
I sure will. Thanks
What’s the link or what do I search to find this bad boy?
It's only at Walmart, either in-store or on the website. They've been pretty hit or miss with finding them before resellers get them for eBay.
