Talking about Easter eggs, how about Lanternlight: "I am the snow on your palm" vs Storytime where the painter on the shore imagined the world "within a snowflake on his palm"...
It's between this, Simone Simons - Vermilion, and Charlotte Wessels - The Obsession. I need to listen to them all a lot more before I decide, as they're all excellent 🤘
the album cover i still have to decipher it , something about some missing numbers ( number 1 two times , and one time the clock numbers reaches just the VII ) next to Nightwish there is a X , can be about the 10th album (but on top of that there is a V so a 5 or 15 ?) The song "the weave " has music based on Grieg: Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46: I. Morning Mood, and others and the mirror lyrics are brilliant . I'm working on finding other musical clues I don't believe in secret dark messages about past members, keep in mind that is nearly 20 yr since Tarja, and she is friend with Floor (Floor said that she will never sing "bye bye beautiful" ) i think a lot of people loves drama like "Hurricanes on the way, lunatic weathervanes Shipwrecked lovers on a faraway cay" , and see whatever they want in the lyrics, and try to create dramas. I'm with you about the album of the "trilogy" for me is the one more well put together as concept album. The orchestra sounds like is part of the band , and not just some element in background, creating a wall of sound.
Yea, the sound of the entire album was remarkable this time around. I still think there could be something to spidersilk though regarding Tarja, who knows. I will definitely look into the roman numerals on the cover, didn't think much about that 😎
Must confess that I was a bit surprised that the cover art of the Fibonacci spiral clock is so similar to the background projection in the Ayreon Universe concert in 2017 during the song "River of Time" which was sung by Hansi Kursch along with Marco Hietala. Possibly coincidence, but Floor was also performing in that concert (though not on stage at that time), and you'd have thought she would have pointed out the similarity.
Easter eggs.. How to explain it.. Here is the summary of a several days of work with _one_song_. In real life it was pages after pages after pages of findings. *One song*. I think I'll leave it with that this time 😁🤘 (Unless you want this whole comment section to be filled up to it's limits with easteregg-stories from one song?) They weave togeher centuries worth of apocalyptic scifi, doomsday awaiting and forecasting... when you start to unpack and decode the lyrics, you notice that basicly each word and line is referring to a new story. And not only that - there are hints, bits and pieces of that story sprinkled around it.. and they all come together to make a whole new story of human nature - eager to delve into these apocalyptic visions (every child wortyhy of a better tale) rather than living here and now (feeling the pain and rooting into reality) - where the life is (noice, yours is an empty hope & gsoe)... E.g. 1984 Orwell, Aldous Huxley, shaffer, (praying for armageddon?), the church that believes in the armageddon as a second coming. The island in a town that was a haven for some and got flooded, the explanations of the humming noices on the sky etcetcetc. And the video has a reference, imho, to clockwork orange
Good analysis. Maybe it would be good to learn to pronounce the names of the band members correctly. It doesn't require a lot of effort, but it would be respectful of the artists.

Well.. no. And you repeat them so many times, it starts to get to the nerves. You could also just leave the surnames off, as the first names seem easier and you get them right. :) Finnish IS hard, but the 100th haeitala and Holopeines just.... aargh... 😁😆
And Tarja Turuunien And Tuomas Holopeinien And Kai Hato And Djuka As Finnish is written as it's pronounced and wice versa, those above are what you said. I do know Tuomas has a intelligent, bright, beautiful wife who is a brilliant singer too, so there is No need to look back for Tarja. Tarja for Tuomas is the last season, air, today. Imagination is a good thing it makes people better, but not always.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if Tuomas was sending messages to Tarja in his songs even after twenty years. There are more references in Yesterwynde and overall it's a looking back album. The line _Shipwrecked lovers on a faraway cay_ from "An Ocean Of Strange Islands" is about Marcelo and Tarja. _For a home that once was_ _For a ghost love lullaby_ seems like a reference to " Ghost Love Score", which many people believe is a song about him and Tarja. Kai also admitted that another song refers to Marko. In addition, last year, at a concert in Finland, Tuomas projected old photos with Tarja during the song "I Want My Tears back". And "Undertaker" and "Spider Silk" are really very similar musically and thematically. It seems almost impossible to me that there are so many similarities by chance. The album looks back a lot and Tarja is a significant part of Tuomas' past. Well, anyway, I think maybe Tarja will pay him back on her next album. I saw her recent cover of Angels and her looks to the camera are also very telling. Especially in the part: _Sparkling angel, I couldn't see_ _Your dark intentions, your feelings for me_ and others
@ArianaHana love your insight. Even if all of it is speculation, I'm really interested in the Tarja Tuomas lore. Regarding your other points, I will definitely look into the marco references. I find the whole exhit of marco and now he's close with tarja all the sudden again a bit telling if underlying tensions that maybe lead to his nightwish departure. Who knows, but all very fascinating
You're too quick to make assumptions. From Song of Myself: It was us Roaming the rainy roads, combing the gilded beaches Waking up to a new gallery of wonders every morn Bathing in places no-one’s seen before Shipwrecked on some matt-painted island Clad in nothing but the surf - beauty’s finest robe Regardless of how you interpret that, being shipwrecked seems like a very beatiful thing here, maybe even something Tuomas longs for. I'd say that line in An Ocean of Strange Islands is more likely about Tuomas and his wife Johanna than about Tarja and Marcelo. On this album there are certainly tons of references to Nightwish songs from many different eras of the band, which makes sense given that the concept of the album is time, memories and the past. The Marco reference is obviously "You who glow, in deepest woe, let it be, retiree, the water's fine, sail carefree." Maybe you didn't spot that because it shows sympathy and care towards the person, and all you WANT to see is drama and tension between them.
@@AndrewMarloweTV And speaking of Marko, some believe that the song "Tides" and "You" he did with Tarot are about Tarja. The album that these songs are on was released a year after Tarja's dismissal. Marko has said many times that he regrets losing Tarja as a friend.
I agree that Yesterwynde is a throwback album. I recently saw a Czech video review with an editor who also interviewed Floor for the Czech Spark magazine, and I read that interview as well. Floor said that even though Tuomas said that Yesterwynde is his new term, it is a word that looks back to the past. In that video, the editor said that Yesterwynde isn't exactly a new term, but that it means something like Yesterday's Scent or Yesterday's Breath. Verse: "Shipwrecked lovers on a faraway cay" makes sense that it's about Tarja and Marcelo because this whole song is about the past and Tuomas and Johanna haven't sailed far. Tuomas remained in Nightwish, but Tarja left it and also Finland, moving with Marcelo to Argentina and later to Spain. While Tuomas stayed in Finland. And Spider Silk and Undertaker look very similar to me too. I have these two songs in my playlist and it's fun to listen to them one after the other. And Yes, Marko and Tarja are very close now. Marko already called her his angel twice on their last tour after finishing the song "Wish I Had an Angel". He literally said he didn't need another angel because he already had one and pointed to Tarja. And regarding Marko's Tarot song Tides, you may be referring to the verse: "Oh, I see your face as if in a dream. Eyes where the shadows drown. Frozen in a frown. And I feel like paper burning free. The wind is shattering me. I'm the sky, I'm the sea." and then: "Standing here, where a dream once had a home. Emptiness now calls, Where hope crumbled with the walls. And I feel like dust, lighter than air. Winged by the smallest prayer. Destination anywhere." The song is apparently about the loss of a friend, and yes, Marko said this year in an interview for Czech Spark that he always hoped that he and Tarja would find a way back together and that he regrets that the media and management widened the chesm that had formed between them. So the song may or may not be about Tarja, or the loss of something valuable. But it can also be the loss of another member of the band. One could speculate about Nightwish Universe for weeks. :D
It sort of conjured Imaginaerum to me. That said, I thought Imaginaerum was crap. This is better but not what I'm looking for from Nightwish. Probably also better than Human:Nature, which I thought was just too much and kind of wanky. "Spider Silk" is the strongest song.
Imaginaerum was definitely not crap. To me umaginaerum was better then their two recent before Yesterwynde. Yesterwynde is definitely more classic nightiwsh for me!
I'd stop listening to them if she came back. As well as i didn't listen to thembefore Floor joined. Though, as a Finn, of course had heard them like gazillion times everywhere. I just don't enjoy her singing enough to concentrate listening
