So much I want to say... I lived in Haverstock Hill apartments in the early 2000s, when my sons were in elementary school. I started back working, and got my babies out of there. No regrets.
There were plenty of unsolved murders back then too; and my truck was towed from that store. I kept to myself; so there was no other trouble for me. As a 43 year old grandma, I see things a lot different from my 20s. Grown men living in low income apartments (meant for women, children, elderly and disabled;) bragging about keeping drugs and crime in the community...
Lol I my family moved there in 2003-2011. I know most people that go to my school in Haverstock.
I live right down the street now, in Costa Rialto Apartment Homes from 2011-2022
If there were more opportunities and better education. People wouldn't commit crime just to continue to live in the most dangerous areas of the city.

Its not normal for 60% of the adult population in the US to be 400 bucks away from homelessness. 60% of US adults live paycheck to paycheck. Children born into poverty having a 96% chance of dying in poverty. They grow up with a poor upbringing in a country with less social safety nets than a developing nation run by a dictatorship. That ensures they'll fall into crime as a means of survival before they ever have the support to attend an institution of higher learning. And all of the blame will be placed on their parents and then them once they become adults. Instead of the government that allows taxpayers to essentially subsidize poverty wages for billionaire corporations who tell their employees to sign up for welfare. Because they will NEVER receive enough hours or pay to ever be considered not in poverty. FYI its Walmart who tells their employees this. Walmart would rather taxpayers contribute more to cover the welfare needs of the employees they refuse to pay non poverty wages. This coming from the same family that pockets over 10 billion straight profit every year just from Walmart sales alone.

I live right down the street from Haverstock and had no idea this was going on but just my two cents being a Houston native , Texas has no shortage of jobs so their really is no excuse....yeah you might have to do the public transportation or whatever getting started but there is always a way .
