Something is amiss with everyone's favorite Saturday morning puppet show! For years, the colorful cast of The Friendly Neighborhood delighted audiences across the globe with their cooky capers and educational adventures. However, as time went on and interest waned, the production studio found themselves out of money and closed their doors for good. Toy sales would dwindle, and birthday balloons and cakes would find new mascots. In time, the once household names would fade into increasingly niche fandoms. Until one night years later, the studio unexpectedly clicks back to life and starts broadcasting The Friendly Neighborhood. TV sets across the globe flicker for a moment before the familiar puppets return for a surprise encore! But this isn't your typical family-friendly holiday special... are those puppets eating each other!?

This is normally not my kind of game but it looks so excellently made that I’ll probably give it a shot! It’s kind of like a soft horror rather than a hard one, which makes it far more palatable for squeamish people like me.
This is such a cool idea! And it's so beautifully executed! Good on you man, I hope you continue to have a lotta luck developing and publishing the games you wanna make cause this is unhinged in only the most wholesome way possible!

Funny thing is, if Kevin would've just left at the beginning, he would've actually gotten an ending where Gordon just says "forget it" and leaves.

Feigning ignorance is our military genius main survival tactic. Being consistenly understimated by the enemy opens the way to a flawless victory (the many, many flaws along the way are fabricated and intentional). Really, one has to aplaud his hability to look clueless no matter what happens. He such a natural, convincing actor that the average viewer may end every video thinking Kevin has no idea what hes doing. But we know better. 😌

I like how the editor adds an echo for when there’s a cave it makes me imagine that Kevin is just a puppet on Gordon’s shoulder just constantly commentating on what is happening and everyone just ignores him

He thought Norman was just being affectionate. Understandable really. After all, grabbing people and throwing them around over and over is the way Kevin shows love. He saw nothing strange in the situation.
This is like a what if all those shitty mascot horror games coming out lately were actually charming and well made.
Not sure if Kevin has a knack for finding the most surreal of games or if Devs discovered his channel years ago and are specially making games as batshit as possible to cater to Kevin.

Honestly I find myself coming to this channel and a couple others (GrayStillPlays is another one) just to see what weird and zany things they're playing. Half the time it's interesting, the other half I'm laughing over the suffering they go through. Have a feeling my play style is similar to theirs, I'm just not as popular lol

@@shinken6636 I have never heard of Arlo until this comment, but from doing a quick Google search, nothing of what you said is true. The main negative i heard is that he is basically the most vanilla NPC kinda guy, who will only say what is the popular opinion, which i get is terrible. But aside from that i dont understand where you got this information from. But i also hate RUclipsrs doing voice acting, the only reason they get to do it is because they are popular, which means a real voice actor loses on a potential job, which is disgusting. Also hes a Ninteno youtuber, being an alleged predator comes with the territory.
Literally only RUclipsr who use a cave echo on his voice when he goes to caves and underwater as well! It's just so amazing and nice touch! Just awesome!

What is it about childhood toys/characters that makes it so easy to turn them into nightmare material? This is one of the wildest scary/puzzle games I've seen. Bout to lose sleep tonight and I regret nothing.

Idk why but that puppet tied up at the top of the stairs saying it's getting lonely cracked me up. I think the game could've been improved if the puppets had alternate dialogue when tied up but that one moment was great
I feel like im in some weird reality where people forgot this game had a demo every youtuber played. Its like im a old man who knows this game from this future or something while everyone either pretends or hasent seen it before.

Yeah, I noticed that too! For an FPS game, it sure is most inspired by one of the first Resident Evil games! (Considering that the remake was like, the fourth/fifth game or something)

it's so crazy to see My Friendly Neighborhood full release. Only like, last year was the demo making its rounds and the fact that it's already full release is insane to me. Usually these indie horror games just have an early access that goes from actually just a pathing test for the antagonist, to basically the full game minus one or two cutscenes (of course taking a full five or six years to make). So to have just that really good demo, no early access, and to be released , makes this game feel so much more impressive than 'just another indie horror game' it feels so much more professionally done.
I would love to see Kevin continue scarring himself with more of this game :D

the game has major bioshock vibes at times, weird as that is. insane enemies just babbling away until they spot you
When I saw Kevin approach all the puppets up to their melee range and shoot them exclusively in the body, really slowly... that's when I knew he was a military genius.
I wanna see Kevin play Baldur's Gate 3 to see what ridiculous shenanigans he could get into!

It still matters where you aim, puppet or not. This kind of game fits into your content quite swimmingly, it's chaotic and very energetic. I'd love to see more of this, but you have a tendency to make most things entertaining, so that's not surprising.
To be fair, the game never tells you to aim for the head. Resident Evil games either let you know zombies are weak to headshots, or expect the player to know that zombies are generally weak to headshots. But puppets? Aim for... The strings? I dunno

Fun fact, zombies (and all undead) in D&D aren't weak to headshots. They're reanimated by magic. The magic makes them move, not their brain. You need to keep whacking them till the magic fades
So it's possible, especially with organless dolls, for reanimated creatures to have no weaknesses. It depends on the method of reanimation and the game doesn't make it clear if the dolls have any weaknesses

The alternate ending where Gordon calls AAA and waits for the guy with the jump pack instead of going back into the demented muppet hotel seems like the reasonable ending tbh.
I don't know if it is the weird mindless NPCs, the killing towards one of my childhood memories or the mole people, but it kind of reminds me of the Sims series

We don't know what personal issues, if any, he's going through right now. Many of us have asked if he's doing all right. I hope he knows that he can take a break or do whatever he needs to and nobody will hold it against him (some people can be really weird and petty with creators, not that I'm implying his viewers have some authority on whether he makes videos or leaves). I think if he wants to tell his viewers his personal issues and then ask for advice, he'll do that, though.
I think expressing concern but then giving someone unsolicited advice is a little... much. We don't know what's going on. In addition, people with sleep issues can't just "sleep", and I'm 100% positive they would if they could (I had massive insomnia meds couldn't fix when I was a teenager and young adult). It just feels a bit presumptuous when people are telling you to do obvious things regardless of whether you're trying to do them or if that's even the actual issue.
It's a weird disconnect many people don't notice in saying you're worried then telling them to do something. He doesn't know any of us. We don't have the right to tell him to "sleep more".
I know people say this stuff out of concern, and I'm not trying to be mean about it. I just know how it feels for people to tell you to do this and do that to "fix" a problem they don't know whether I even have or not, and I can imagine he gets dozens of these types messages a day. It probably doesn't feel great for him....
I believe expressing concern and leaving questions open for him to answer if he wants to, without telling him he should be doing something, is the best approach, personally. He seems like someone who stresses when they feel pressured, as I'm sure many of us can relate.
Then, let’s just remember to leave him a bunch of love for now, and hope things get better!
@@ElysetheEevee I 100% agree. If there's something going on, it's his choice whether or not to share it. Or maybe there's nothing going on and we're just noticing things that happen to any normal person (ie maybe there's been construction keeping someone awake, or some people just have permanent dark circles under their eyes. He does have pale skin after all)
And I hear you with the unwanted "advice" people give.
I have chronic illness(es) and people, including my own family, keep giving me the same advice even after telling "thank you, but Ive tried that already" or "I can't do that due to so and so".
But I can see where it comes from at the same time. Im sure I've done so before to, meaning well but not always thinking about how sometimes it can stress out the other party.

Imagine if this got a sequel but you star a muppet/puppet yourself, fighting with the negativity growing on you as you try to get through the game. Questioning your existance and learning what happened as you go along.
With different endings depending if you give into the negativity, live in blind positivity or accept both the good and the bad to rebuild what was lost.
