In 1973 Valdi came and played over lunch hour in the theatre in Forest Lawn High School in Calgary. He liked the students so he played for an extra 20 minutes and the school cancelled the class for that time. At the time he could have gotten around 600 dollars for the time but he came and sang, and staid an extra 20 minutes for only 135 dollars total. What a hero.
