I had one of those scam refinance mortgage calls. Usually, I just hang up on them, but I felt like playing this time. The scammer starts his spiel and comments that he has all my information in front of him. I let him go on with his pitch, peppering him at times that this will lower my monthly payments. He goes on and on with me confirming that he had information on my balance and monthly payment. So we get to the end of his talk. Then he asks me for any questions. My query was “How much are you going to pay me?” He was flummoxed replying with a “What?!”. With a smile on my face I replied back. As my mortgage is paid off, paying less means you pay me. The next sound I hear is the click of the receiver being hung up.
With they'll items on the belt" thing, I'm in the UK, and ny usual supermarket has recently had a policy that all items should be on the belt... whereas previously if I was buying a number of the same bulky item, I would have put one up and told the cashier how many I had... if the cashier lets customers through without doing this, they themselves could be caught by the security cameras and subjected to disciplinary action. Not saying that this was the case for OP in Costco, but there may have been more to it than a cashier in a sour mood
The safe story, NEVER not go back to court after that bullshit. ALWAYS go back and get your money back from losers like him. Absolutely no reason he should take a year and a half to make somethin then not respond or give your money back. Take them back and get that judgement from them. They MUST have that paid back within a certain timeframe and if they don’t then they go to jail till they do pay it back. People like him will always continue until they get sued and get jail time.
My oldest two have alwwys stood up for each other even though they use to fight like cat and dog. When they were in second grade a girl tried bullying my son, my daughter pushed her down and actually said she's the only one who and be mean to him. 😂
Don't most people put large or heavy stuff on the conveyor belt with the UPC code facing the cashier? Or if it's really heavy (a case of something) I just make sure the UPC code is easily scannable from the cart. I've just always done it this way and assumed others did it, too.
About the delivery and Paypal. Did the money for the refund came from Paypal or the retailer? If the refund came from Paypal’s pockets because they couldn’t reach the retailer then that sucks for Paypal and the retailer didn’t get any comeuppance...
If they have a debt with Paypal their account will be suspended and they are blacklisted to make another one until they pay. ETA: Payapal also has other ways of recovering that money, including suspending their support of payments towards their website untile they pay.
