My 7100 has been an ink-eating bastard with every futile attempt to clean it. This video gave me the idea to just run the ink head over an alcohol-soaked bit of printing paper. So I unplugged it, moved the head unit, put the wet paper to where I could run the head back over it a couple times. A lot of ink came off and was deposited on the paper. Absolute success.
I have an issue with printing on my XP 7100 printer. I get a vertical blop line going the page when I print or copy. Any suggestions? I have run the maintenance programs already except paper guide cleaning. I could not get output tray out to clean the rollers.
So will cleaning the ink or printer heads help resolve ink blobs or smudged on my prints? I bought the Epson 7100 printer because it printed directly to dvds which I make for clients for my small business. But I cannot get through one job where I need to make multiple prints without the smudges coming back. It seems to be a common EPSON printer issue. Or should I just clean the ink pad that the ink cartridges rest on?
I used the cleaning kit to clean my print heads on an epson xp 7100. The paper towel got stuck under the printer head assembly and rode along underneath it. I got it out with a pair of tweezers. But when I turned on the printer I got an error message - something about the scanner exposed to bright light, etc. I googled for a solution & couldn't find one. I tried powering off the printer, multiple tries, looked for a reset button on the scanner couldn't find one. Finally, I got an error code which when I looked it up it said hardware fuse blown & get a new printer. Soooo...you mentioned you would help with that. I want an all in one, color inkjet printer. I saw a review that favored either a canon pixma ts9520 for an hp officejet pro 9025. I like the duplex feature on the hp, canon doesn't mention duplex so I'm assuming they don't have it. I have an imac, iphone, & powerbook. I always airprint, so would the fact that hp officejet doesn't have printer driveers for my mac os, does it matter? And of course, do you recommend some other printer? I do all in one printing - text, occasional photos. need the copy function and like the scanner. Could care less about faxing. recommendations? Thanks! Deb H.
Quick question - I cleaned the black printer head, but now when I run a test page, I have no color coming from that black print head. Any thoughts on what to do?
Didn't work for me. I cleaned the heads manually and put new genuine Epson cartridges in and got an error message repeatedly that the ink cartridges could not be recognized. I was able to run a nozzle check which showed blanks where yellow, cyan and magenta were. Also, what brand of remanufactured ink do you use?
I tried your method of cleaning the print head (my magenta is giving me trouble). I then got a message "The printer is exposed under strong light. Close the Scanner Unit." I cannot seem to get that message to go away. I have tried resetting the machine back to factory defaults, but nothing works. Any suggestions?
I shook my new black printer cartridge without the cap on it. Now everything I scan just looks like a big black blob. I tried to do this cleaning but I cannot get the empty printer cartridge holder to stay in the center. Any suggestions?
i have same printer, i replaced two cartridge with refillable ink, they are regonzied (even if not original) and filled with ink, but they won't print any color
I followed your directions to a t. Put it back together and ink came pouring out of the bottom of the tank. Toss the printer and all ink and cleaning kit in the trash. The entire top came off the printer and fell to the floor. Disappointed.

Never would have attempted cleaning my Epson XP-7100's printheads without your easy to follow video. Your printhead cleaner did a great job.
Awesome!
I’ve been having black streaks in my prints for a year. This was the only process that really worked. Thank you!
Awesome!

Have you tried this cleaning!
Worked perfectly. I thought I was going to need to buy a new printer. Thanks

Hi Deb, if you never want to deal with this type of issue again you should buy an HP Envy model.
This was helpful, but I have a black line when I print - How do I get that off. It shows up when I print or scan
Most likely one of the rollers needs to be cleaned, ink may have gotten on one.
Quick question - I cleaned the black printer head, but now when I run a test page, I have no color coming from that black print head. Any thoughts on what to do?
that is totally normal. Make sure you have full link and run a deep cleaning multiple times until color returns.
@@BestPrinters Thanks! May I ask how you run a deep clean on a XP-7100?
Hey I removed the white sticky paper, and clear plastic part above the scanning tray, is that a bad thing and did I fuck up?
Try sticking it back on with clean tape.

The cleaning may be required multiple times in some cases. This is the ink I use, amzn.to/3upQ2gd
i have an epson xp 720 expression premium can i use the same procedure? thank you
Yes!

How to connected with your iphone
Is there a new version of this printer ?
The ink suggested is no longer available through Amazon can you suggest another brand of inks please. Thank you.
Ink is available here: amzn.to/3upQ2gd
I clicked the link and it still shows it's unavailable unfortunately. 🙄
It shows it’s available for me?
Where does all that cleaning fluid go?
You need to use paper towels under the printhead, the paper towel will absorb all the fluid.
after completing, I am receiving error message that print heads are not recognized, what do I do?
i have same printer, i replaced two cartridge with refillable ink, they are regonzied (even if not original) and filled with ink, but they won't print any color
You may have to revert to the original cartridges then.
Are you unplugging the printer from the wall?? Can't understand what you mean by unplugging it...
Unplugging the power cable from the back of the printer.
very good, it works now!
Great!
Cannot see the video??
My printer won’t recognize the ink that you recommended…
Never mind. I got it to work…
Ok great.

Do you need to have a cleaning kit? Can you do it without?
How can you clean it without a cleaning kit?🤦😅😅😅😅
you lost me when you said remanuf ink was just as good as original ink. sorry.
It is aside from chip issues.
