Other than the new chip, the other hardware upgrades seem very incremental. I expect all the software features mentioned to filter down to older models
I currently have the S23 Ultra. I pre-ordered the S25 Ultra. I'm not a fan of the sPen losing Bluetooth features. Honestly, I never used air gestures. I did sometimes use the sPen camera shutter feature. I'm not terribly disappointed to lose Bluetooth features of the sPen especially if that loss meant no price increase this year. Either way, no sPen Bluetooth isn't a deal breaker for me. I am excited about the flat screen (hopefully flatter than the S24) and I like the curved corners.
@22s22a I use Verizon Wireless. Verizon is the worst carrier to use unlocked phones on. My choice is the Pixel 9 xl pro or Samsung S25 Ultra. I refuse to switch to the iPhone. I might be able to get the OnePlus 13 to work on Verizon's network but I'm concerned that the OnePlus 13 would not have full functionality. Also, the only thing I'm losing is the Bluetooth sPen. The S23 Ultra to the S25 Ultra is an upgrade. The flat screen and curved corners is a good design change in my opinion. The thing is that Verizon is giving me $1,000 trade in credit for my Note 20 Ultra 5g right now. So my plan is to keep my S23 Ultra as a backup phone and use the S25 Ultra as my daily driver. If I cancel my pre-order and wait for the S26 ultra the trade in value of my Note 20 Ultra will decrease.
I am still rocking the S23 Ultra and plan on keeping it for a bit. I wish Samsung would make the Plus and Ultra the same with the S-Pen only difference, I don't use the S-pen except maybe once a year. Also wish Samsung would accept Qi2 magnetic charging.
I have an s23u and not willing to give up the 10x zoom. Am considering getting the OnePlus 13 for $799, to scratch the itch, keeping the s23u for later trade in for a fold 7 or s26u
At this point. If you wait for the s26, there'll be reasons to wait for the s27. F it, live for today. I'll get the s25 ultra. If i have the money I'll upgrade again 🤷🏾♂️
Ahaha Exactly, i don't understand why all these people tell us to wait for S26, we aren't really sure of what will be the upgrade in 2026, and yes in 2026 they will be people for telling us to wait for the S27 lmao
I ordered an S25 and an upgrade from my fantastic phone with zero issues the S20 🥇🥇I still have my S9 and use it as a media device/also have zero issues with that!!!
I have my s4 leather edition, but it won't start up. I still got my s5 with a crack in the screen. Sold the s6, s7 and then i do have 2 s9's (the perfect phone) sold my s20 and s22 & s22 plus, using my s23 256gb and got a s24 256gb (snapdragon) as a back up and now waiting for 5 times the base s25 512gb 😅. 2 to keep and 3 for profit🎉
I'm going to be upgrading to the S25U. Although the S-Pen is very big change dislike I have all the other things make up for it personally. The only time I really used air actions was for reading and to change the pen in Samsung notes, currently I have a Note 10 Plus so the hardware and software alone will be a good upgrade, Don't like not having any more security updates in my opinion
I plan to upgrade from my S22U. My phone has been great. IMO, three years is a good for phone life. While nice to have the option, I never used the Bluetooth features of the S pen. Flat screen and round corners is the new trend. If I had an S23U or S24U, I'm probably skip this one. I usually upgrade every two years. So, it's time to pull the trigger!
I have a s22 ultra and I was eager to finally upgrade it, but after seeing that it brings so few significant upgrades, I will hold it up for the S26 Ultra. No silicon-carbon battery, a 8-bit color display with horrible PWM numbers, the spen bluetooth function removal, almost the same camera set, abysmal video capture performance in low light, when comparison with the iPhone and so on. My s22u still feels fast, its battery life is still good enough for me (average user - sd variant, one charge per day) and my friends always get impressed by its photo's quality.
Great video! I have the S22 ultra and I'm NOT upgrading this year to the S25 ultra. First, the S22 ultra STILL receives software updates and will continue getting updates until 2026. Secondly, all the other things really doesn't matter and it's not worth forking over several hundreds of dollars for some small improvements here and there on the phone. I feel like I'm buying the same phone especially since the camera setup on the back on the ultra phone hasn't changed in 4 years.
Thank you for the updates. Will stick to 24U. Don't like the rounded edges and the lack of bluetooth on S pen. So, if you have the 24U I don't see the point of upgrading yet. Cheers!
There's only two most influential phone brand out there. Who doesn't know by now both Samsung and iPhone are the true kings of smartphone out there. You really can't go wrong with either phone. They both have their ups and downs and differ by a slight margin at most. To tell people to wait for the next year to buy doesn't guarantee Samsung will bring back certain features that they took away. People will buy it regardless of you tell them to wait or not. As for the camera, you can only improve so much or even barely notice the difference since the camera quality already close to its peak in terms of quality.
The S25 unpacked was a horror show. Everytime they said the phrase "AI" was like a small jab in the gut. I consider this kind of Ai implementation to be extremely invasive. I'm the Samsung customer who USES the feature to block camera and microphone access whenever I'm not using them. I like my privacy. My phone asking to add an event in my calendar just because I take a screen shot with a date in it is creepy as all heck. Don't even get me started on Samsung Routines. Don't snoop on me Samsung. The saddest part, is I'm due for an upgrade, and really need it. The processor on this Fold 4 is GARBAGE. Had nothing but problems with this Fold 4, so i picked up a Tab s10, and was planning on going back to an S series. I think I'm just going to end up having to get an S24u and avoid android updates like the plague.
Waiting for more hardware tech rather than software.., S26 ultra worth waiting or if not Samsung will suffer downfalls like Nokia did.., Chinese tech giant offer more hardware tech and values for money than Samsung have to offer now...! Samsung should listen to people's needs rather thinking about making money or die...! R.I.P Samsung..!
I actually had started the process of purchasing it I paid for it and I think I kind of jumped the gun. Now looking into it more watching more reviews I feel like I should just wait for next year's model. I have the s24 ultra and this phone is amazing still to this day a year later. I've had a screen protector on it and I just removed it a year later and my screen and phone overall look great like it's brand new and I kind of got to loving it all over again and plus with the new update coming soon is just going to make this phone more amazing. So I am passing and canceling my order for the s25 ultra today and holding out for another year
The purpose of the pen is to write. Samsung only removed something that was unnecessary. Most people don't use the gesture features enough to take advantage of the Bluetooth. If it was that important, Every phone brand including iPhone out there would have put one on their phone.
Without the bluetooth functionality, it's no longer a S-pen, it's just a regular stylus. So if the Ultra series isn't Ultra without the S-pen, that means the S25 Ultra is not actually Ultra.
Your video is expressing why I will be keeping my Note 9 another year. I have typed before that when someone offers a phone with a full 7.00-inch screen that does NOT fold with 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage and a built-in stylist for $1,000, I will upgrade. I wonder how long my Note 9 will last...
I just cancelled my pre-order due to the Bluetooth removal from the S-pen. For photography, it was an essential feature. And no Scamsung, I don't want a watch...
Me too! I got a new battery, and my s22U is running like a champ. It's still in mint condition. I was gonna upgrade, but man, I can't stand the looks of the s25U. It's ugly, IMHO. Not to mention, it's behind on all the new technologies.
Yes I'm planning on upgrading out of the Galaxy family for the first time in 15 years. Once they stop making a note they stop giving to their customers and not caring anymore. The pin really did it when they took away the Bluetooth
I'll bet they use that new battery on the upcoming s25 Edge. I hope so, because that phone really intrigues me. I've got an S23U and a Flip 6, so I'm content to hang tight until we hear the goods on the Edge (prob around May-June), and will have had a few to several months of long-term reviews on the Ultra.
Here in the UK you get £60 less trade in for a S23 Ultra 512GB than a 256GB. I don't understand the logic of that but Samsung confirmed that is the case. No Bluetooth with S-Pen on the S25. Mainly AI upgrades which I'm not fussed about so looks like a release to skip. Hopefully the S26 will be worthwhile upgrading to.
There is no 16GB variant of the Ultra. They stayed with 12GB Ram. S-Pen no Bluetooth is not good. The 50MP wide angle is probably good but no other changes to the cameras. The rest are software, AI, etc. which most will trickle down to previous phones eventually. Not enough to update at this time from the 24U which is going strong on One UI7 beta 3, which is very good.
It's looks like an iPhone 4 except bigger and no back glass cover. I would have rated A+ if they have option to add the back glass and improve the video recording quality to the same level as an iPhone. Overall, it's a beautiful design with the gorgeous titanium metal frame.
I upgraded because I have an S23 and my battery is getting sluggish. I am very disappointed with the pen as I do use it for pictures. Camera upgrade was another consideration. If next years is as good as you think, will probably upgrade again next year. I do hope Samsung rethinks the pen.
I was going to get it, but the lack of Bluetooth on the pen was a deal breaker. My S24 is supposed to last for seven years, so I got a better phone; I just need an update.
I want hardware, not software. I'm not concerned with weight or slimming down. I want the best product and im willing to pay for it like most Samsung Knights
Sticking with s24U I am just waiting for S27U as hopefully, more features like See on S27U are front camera inside the screen, 60W charger speed, maybe a 4k display, and an 8k60fps video record.
I have the Z Fold 5 and while I considered upgrading to the S25 Ultra, I'm going to wait for the Z Fold 7. We'll eventually get most of the software updates, which unfortunately were the main highlights of the device.
I was planning to upgrade from the Samsung S8 I have to the S25 but there really isn’t much of a change and they also removed some features from the S pen on the S25 and with what you said about the S26, I’m rethinking to wait till the S26 comes out with even better colors hopefully since I’m not fond of the silver, grey etc. I’ve even liked and subscribed here because I like how you get to the facts quickly. Thank you.
Samsung probably not going to develop the S-pen anymore because most people said they don't use S-pen. Buying the S24 Ultra is going to be better if you like the S-pen.
This is the first ultra since the s20 that I am not going to upgrade... I'm not a huge fan of the redesign although the snapdragon 8 elite for galaxy chip and slimmer bezels are a draw. However, since not much else is changing that would be of benefit for me I will stay with my S24 Ultra and wait for the software updates...thanks for the insight and perhaps the S26 Ultra will have more appeal than what is offered by the S25 Ultra.
Why wait. If you have an S24 Ultra you are getting $900 credit. Next year when the S26 comes out they will give you another $900 plus credits.. Makes no sense to hold off
I just got a pretty good deal on an S24U last month. Traded in a Pixel 6 pro and got S24U 512gb 800 bucks. I'm definitely waiting for S26 or maybe Pixel can lure me back in the fall. The new battery tech sure sounds interesting.
Definitely waiting for S26 ultra. I don't see the sense in upgrading from my S23 Ultra even though the S25 Ultra new look, shape and materials make the phone much stronger and better to hold up from accidental drops. It's a game changer Samsung finally ditched the curve edges.
So, what you're saying is that based on mere rumors and speculation, people should wait. Based on that logic, why not wait for the S27 Ultra or even the S30 Ultra? As far as security for facial recognition, if you really want to keep your phone locked, especially if law enforcement wants in, use a pattern. Facial recognition allows them to gain access without your permission. Smart. Thanks for the link for buying the S25 Ultra even though you advise against it.
I don't care about the Bluetooth on spen i dont even use air actions or camera on it so i use pen for coloring or taking notes that's about it! That Bluetooth on pen was draining my battery like crazy so i ordered s25 ultra
In 2025 everyone finds stuff to bitch about. Better screen, upscaling, better processor, better form factor, lighter, better optimised battery, 12mp to 50mp wide camera, better Ai, Snapdragon Elite exclusive features, Qi2 charging, no price hike, great pre-order bonuses. Its all about quality of life. RUclipsrs talk crap and nitpick all the time. Ps. I will pre-order the S26 too, in the meantime i will enjoy my S25 Ultra 😊
To say that the phone does not have many improvements is wrong. That is where the new snapdragon elite chips come in and that's what most people really care about. Snapdragon elite chips is all powerhouse and currently there's no phone out there that can match it.
Have the Note 20 Ultra and was ready to move up but guess I am waiting for the 26 now. I keep my phones for a while and just want to be sure it is the right one.
I have the S24 +😅 I switched from Iphone 15 pro max. I will never go back. My S24 camera is sufficient for flat lay photos and what my needs are. Samsung blew Iphone out of the water for me. Thanks for the video detailing the specs and changes. I would like to upgrade for the camera but if it will be better to wait for the next model so be it. Battery would also be a plus if that changes because I'm constantly charging.
No one here seems to be factoring in the tariff/price hike factor. That's what has me on the fence. Will the Ultra26 be cost prohibitive? Waiting for the next model is always a coin toss but this time there's the now or never factor to consider.
I wanted 16 Gigs and a larger battery. Instead they take away the Bluetooth functionality of the SPen, give me the same size battery and Gigabytes I already had in my S24 Ultra 🤦🏻♂️ Honestly, I was prepared to go with all these short comings in this "new" phone but the SPen broke me.
How about waiting for S27 or maybe S28!! My friend, let's be realistic and don't adopt follow like sheep trend! Changes in so called flagship year by year have been incremental and minute, in fact we haven't witnessed real key changes in the industry in the last 12 years. And yet it removed external memory card, headphone jack, not to mention poor battery. Consumers being charged hefty price for the name!! . You can buy Chinese brands doing same job and sometimes better for a third of the price, Some got one inch camera sensor with variable aperture too. Hope this makes sense.

Your money.. your choice..but really i would implore you to look at other options or wait
@@fraliexb and may I ask you what you do with the S-Pen once a year?
Next year, he will tell you to wait for s26, some will say I was going to update, and I'll wait wait
Will use S22Ufir now , waiting to upgrade to S26U.
Have the same and I'm only contemplating upgrading because the trade in price is $1100 which would make the s25 half off
@@T-Rizzle808Makes sense.
Yes, hold onto the S22 ultra. I have one too. Next year the S22 ultra will stop receiving software updates so that's when it's time to upgrade.
Honestly, barely any buddy uses the S pen let alone the Bluetooth so it’s not that big of a deal. Media makes it a bigger deal than what it’s worth.
Im keeping my s22U. My phone does everything i need for now. I see the s25U as the ultimate mid ranger.
Solid, still a great phone
Same keeping mine till at least S26/27 Ultra
S26 series will also finally get upgraded storage standard: UFS 5.0. Current phones use UFS 4.0, which is slower.
I ordered an S25 and an upgrade from my fantastic phone with zero issues the S20 🥇🥇I still have my S9 and use it as a media device/also have zero issues with that!!!
I still have my S3 and the battery only lasts 20 minutes now lol.
2 to keep and 3 for profit🎉
i love tech i love flagship phones but its gotten stale past years... i only update my phone every 4 years now no more 1/2 year...
I am just fearing Samsung wants to remove the SPen totally in Future 😵💫🤯
I just hate those round corners .samsung lost its note look a like .
There is absolutely no reason to buy the S25 Ultra.
The s pen pro may help
I plan to upgrade from my S22U. My phone has been great. IMO, three years is a good for phone life. While nice to have the option, I never used the Bluetooth features of the S pen. Flat screen and round corners is the new trend. If I had an S23U or S24U, I'm probably skip this one. I usually upgrade every two years. So, it's time to pull the trigger!
Trade in is as good as it will ever get
Thank you so much!! This is exactly what I needed to know! The telephoto lens is crucial to me and now I know to wait! Thank you SOOOO much!
Do keep in mind my points relate to rumors. But good call!
I've never liked the Camera bumps on phones. I'd rather Samsung make the device thicker to get rid of the camera bump, and give us more battery.
Just like they say, if its not broke, don't fix it!
S24 won best phone of the year, so they said lets just add some sprinkles and a few candles 🕯 😉
I've been a fan of yours since at least 2013 in your AAA days. Keep up the great work jason
I appreciate that!
So I am passing and canceling my order for the s25 ultra today and holding out for another year
Me too, man!
Sticking with my S22 Ultra for another year I think, maybe 2 years as it has 2 more major OS updates yet.
I heard a rumor that Samsung is attempting to develop a 500-megapixel camera sensor for future smartphones.
Yes, I am satisfied with my S24 Ultra and will await the release of the S26 Ultra.
Good theory!
I like the "4 reasons to wait" angle, great job! 👏🏻
S26 ultra could be 100 bucks more
Here in the UK you get £60 less trade in for a S23 Ultra 512GB than a 256GB.
There actually is a 16gb ram variant.
"Did you know "Sammie and I" never get along?"
Sticking with s24U
I am just waiting for S27U as hopefully, more features like See on S27U are front camera inside the screen, 60W charger speed, maybe a 4k display, and an 8k60fps video record.
I dont see any real world use reason to upgrade my s24 ultra. The design has gone backwards IMO.
And when the s26 is relaesed there'll be videos "reasons to wait for the s27" 😅😅
I’m on an iPhone 13 Pro Max is it worth switching and upgrading to the Samsung Galaxy S25 ultra?
Yes
Why wait. If you have an S24 Ultra you are getting $900 credit. Next year when the S26 comes out they will give you another $900 plus credits.. Makes no sense to hold off
I don't use that Bluetooth feature from the pen. So I am good 👍🏻
Our 2 mint S22U do all this fine. The battery with everything working perfectly!
I may wait for S26, as S25U is not all that!
I am upgrading, just because. ATT gave me 1300 for the trade in. cost me 3 per month. Did not use pen enough for me to care.
Yeah their trade-in deal is solid
they say this to every phone model. do what you guys want
I'm upgrading from S21, so this would be HUGE for me. I will upgrade again to the S26, I will have better trade in value.
Next Video : "The Galaxy S26 Ultra Might Destroy the iPhone 17 Pro Max!"
You’re truly making a difference!
Great review. Efficiently addressed current gen, comps and projections with great pacing all somehow quickly. I do appologize. I was not familiar with your game. Subscribed.
Thanks for being here, no apology needed!
S pen is real deal breaker for me , ıma pass this one
Yeah that's disappointing.
I ordered the S25 Ultra. Upgrading from the Galaxy A12.
I'm on the fold 5. Won't change back. Lol Waiting for the 7 this year.
Hope s26 ultra has new main camera and new zoom lens faster charging and bigger battery
Naaah, I've pre-ordered the S25U and with those crazy discounts at launch will probably do the same when the S26U comes out.
Who's going to wait another year for the s26
2 people in east Peoria.
I plan to upgrade coming from a S22 Ultra.
Wait for 2026...the S22 series has another year of software updates.
I will keep upgrading while im in a job with special access to good prices!
I have an S21 5g FE. I was thinking about upgrading to the S25 Ultra. Any thoughts? Should I wait? Should I get the S24 Ultra? Someone, please give me your thoughts. Thanks.
