It’s alright in my opinion. I’m still sad they discontinued the Avalon. I love Avalons and even own a 2018 Avalon Limited. It’s great car, so quiet, comfortable and luxurious. I’m sure they will bring it back later. It’s too good to let go.

Nicely done Toyota! I like that they went to flat black around the wheel wells. Too much high gloss black could start to cheapen the overall appearance. Thanks for a great presentation, you really covered a lot of great points of both the interior and exterior of the Crown!
I owned Crown 1979 the Royal Saloon version, and then 1982 Super Salon version, and I can say these were the best cars I’ve ever owned. They drive like a sport car, look and feel and supply luxury, and they never break, I’m talking seriously never break!! I do like the style of the new crown. However I hope they would have a stick shift version like before!
This vehicle interests me greatly! I love that Toyota is doing something different here with a cross between a sedan and a SUV. And while the black and red is nice, I would prefer the two tone be black and a nice gunmetal grey. What do you think?
Absolute beauty!! I will seriously be considering the Platinum Crown, just waiting on official price release but HOLY SMOKES, what a fabulous vehicle! Awesome job as always Joe and Lori!!
Very cool revival for Toyota's linup. I'm digging the two-tone, actually like the flat back trim around the tires, and the interior space and design, but am still going for the Corolla Cross XSE Hybrid for a similar price. It won my heart already. I am loving Toyota's new direction though. They're really beginning to step it up and moderniz both their interiors and exteriors. Love to see it and am absolutely loving your channel, guys. New subscriber here. I'll see you in the next one!
Liking the looks. Glad it is in hybrid format. I would go for Limited as turbocharged still scares me a bit. As far as Corolla Cross, local dealer had a pearl white LE AWD with sunroof & JBL audio options. Sad to say it was 30k and the dealer added a $2,000 “MARKET ADJUSTMENT“ to a vehicle that was ordered and already SOLD. Market is just out of control!
@@Shiinamusiclyricssubs I absolutely agree about the interior. If you're going for looks and don't need the extra storage space, I'd be there with ya and grab the Crown, but I do need the space and I also appreciate the higher ride height.

Excellent preview, Joe! I love that I can rely on the structure of your reviews/previews so I know you’ll hit all the points. I actually really like the two-tone paint and I for one think the black wheel wells give it a cooler look than if they were painted. I don’t always think that (Lexus UH for example) but in this application I think the overall look benefits from the matte black. Nice work buddy!
I really like the design of this car. Gloss black fender would've been great with the gloss black hood, mirror caps and rear end. They should've added some exhaust tips too

Such a sexy hybrid, very much different from what the old Crown used to be(which was more used for chauffeur driving for execs). Not so much a fan of e-cars but this may be the one hybrid that I would not mind having. I think Toyota will make a killing with this.
Hello. Crown sedan did not go away. Yesterday, Toyota Japan introduced four Crown models, including a new 16th gen sedan. However, it appears the U.S. market will only get the SUV like version.
Ohh how I miss the Avalon Touring, such understated build quality. That V6, bulletproof 8 speed auto transmission, and different driving modes was moderation simplified but performed superbly Now everything is hybrid and CRTs with loud glitz to finish it off. I'm getting old... 😣
Thanks Joe and Lori. I LOVE IT! This car looks amazing. It has everything a family needs such as style, luxury and practicality and it is efficient and a great performer. Best of all it does not look like everything else and being and Toyota I know it is built to last. They put so much quality in all their vehicles and they have so many different types of vehicles. As a car company, I honestly don't know how they do it all. There is a reason why Toyota is at the top. I'm torn on the wheel arch whether it should stay plastic or gloss black or body color. My current Toyota has that plastic cladding and as long as you take car of it, it looks nice and on top of that it does see some abuse from everyday driving and it is nice to be able to buff it out and not worry about paint chips. A big yes on needing some exhaust tips especially on this 340 HP performance model. Again, well done and thanks. I can't wait to see more on this one and best of all not range anxiety and no 30 + minute recharges.
I just love how animated and detailed you are Joe!! This is a beautiful vehicle AND like you said, if you stuck in the middle between wanting a car and a SUV -- this looks to fill that gap! Welcoming back the Toyota crown 👑 in very nice fashion…. I love it although I’ll miss the Avalon I understand where the Crown fits in…. You hit every angle and curve on this review as always joe great work
It’s like the Avalon and the Venza had a baby together. Jokes aside, I’m excited for this car. Loving the powertrains and all wheel drive. Will definitely test drive it once it’s more available.
Joe, why are soooo many car manufactures going with all this external gloss black material?!?! I hate all of it, as its a pain in the ass to clean and keep clean!! What is your opinion on it? I also believe that with the sound system, they should have stepped it up with something other than JBL...maybe harden kardon or Bose. JBL is just a little on the cheap side of stereos. I believe toyota should have went with color matching fenders rather than matte black material, I really hate it!! Thanks again sir for all the videos.
Honestly, it looks AMAZING. I see a lot of Nissan Z inspiration in the way the back of the car is. But, I'm disappointed that it isn't a lift back. Think about it. It LOOKS like a lift back. The way the top of the car goes back, looks similar to the Integra. Lift back would've made it the perfect car in my opinion. I own a 2022 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hatch, and the versatility I get between sportiness, fuel economy and space makes it almost the perfect vehicle. If this Crown had lift back, it would bring it in line with a vehicle LIKE the Civic Hatch and Integra because it's a CAR that can compete with SUV's. I like my Civic because I don't have to compromise a lot of space and I get way better fuel economy than most of the SUVs on the road so I pay less at the pump.
Amazing looking vehicle. Bodywise it reminds me of the Honda Crosstour. Perhaps not as big? I would like the wheelwells painted the body color. Other than that a beauty. Thanks for the introduction Joe.

@@smack9x the crown badge is symbolic. It has history behind it. As a kid, we had a crown, and it was a marvelous car, the badge is a symbol of history, and luxury.

I'm new to the channel and have watched previous videos on the new Honda CRV. But the commentary just like the others is hillariously suttle with a hint of serious sarcasism that hits you unexpectedly. ''Turkey leg and a your Goblet...5 He-Man figurines...Two boxes of twinkies..." LOL! I love the way you include these colorful examples of description ala Vince Vaughn. You actually give a detailed depiction of this vehicle to a T! I was not only informed but intrigued on how this new vehicle will unfold. I will vote yes on the flat trim around the tires much like the Lexus subcompact SUV. But a gloss black would probably have complimented the 2 tone color and trim. Excellent work!
I really didn’t expect Toyota to replace the Avalon with the Crown. I do like it, it looks great! I was hoping for the Toyota MarkX. But this will do. So the next Gen Camry will have this design language I hope.
I absolutely agree with *Jean Blezin* Joe this is the first video of yours I've sren.. I've watched lots of others and your presentation is clean and GENUINE.. You've done your due diligence as well. Although im not sold on the two tone color combo, the car itself design wise seems to be a hit! Definitely would buy it in one solid color lol. Thanks for the early look!
Thanks for the review. I wish you could have shown yourself getting in and out of the Crown. I'm old and sedans are tough getting in and out of. This one being about 4 inches higher than a Camry should be pretty nice, but it would have given me a better idea on this.
As an owner of 2007 JDM Crown Royal Saloon G, I must say I wouldn’t trade my crown with any BMW, Mercedes or Audi of similar production year Love Crown ❤

Good review. As a consumer, and single, here are my thoughts. I really like the two tone car! I really like that front grill and the rear-end on the vehicle. Yet I do think the black accents on the side doors is a bit cheesy but I can live with them. I'm frightened of Hybrids cause you have to "engines" to deal with and probably a ton more maintance (expense)
This is a nice car. Very nice design. Toyota did a good job coming out with something new. I look forward to seeing other colors. I would consider one of these over a Camry. I’d love to know how it drives and what the price will be. Thanks for showing it.
GREAT presentation. In addition to the Crown's sweet looks, I don't know that I've ever seen an automobile that simultaneously makes ya wonder if it's a sporty sedan or SUV, and it does so VERY seamlessly. Also, all the interior aesthetics, functionality and technology looks to be well thought out from Toyota's perspective. And if the MSRP is higher than a $40K Avalon and that means paying $50K for the Crown, I'd say that's still a LOT of bang for the buck, considering the total package. Quickly this has supplanted my favorite vehicle I next want to purchase, as Toyota hit a grand slam with this beauty.
It looks great in the red and black by the way. They did a great job with this car. I might consider this car if I were to get rid of my jeep gladiator Rubicon.
Awesome that Toyota has reinstatement the Crown name. Even though it is indeed a beautifully styled vehicle my mind has drifted to the early 80s square lined 'full size' sedan I loved so much. At least premium car buyers will have a solid new candidate for their shortlist!
Great video, Joe! I’ve been on a SUV kick for awhile, but with how high the Crown sits I might stick with another sedan. It’s nice to see Toyota stepping up the interior and the technology. What is your educated guess for pricing on the Crown models?
Thank you for bringing this review Joe. I was intrigued to see what this vehicle was and it’s definitely killer. I love the looks of it and the interior is simple and clean. It’s luxurious without being too fancy and overdone. I think Toyota did a great job with this

@@cp3onmtv963 Yes, the other two tone exterior options are very nice. The only "Zonks" are the connectivity options and lack of climate controls in the back. Yes, it's a raised sedan/crossover, but even two-row SUVs offer these options, many standard. Really hoping they include these things in the production model.
I don’t think it’s having that affect at all. I believe this resembles a sedan too much for the average soccer mom with 3 kids to consider a sedan over a Highlander or RAV4.
Didn't think I'd like this after seeing the patents. This looks AMAZING. Much better than other past attempts (Accord CrossTour and ZDX). Nice review, Joe and Lori!
I agree with you m! Thanks for letting us share it with you!
I know how you feel
@@RaitisRides This new crown is a mixed bag. It looks like a 10th gen Honda Civic on stilts and at the back, it look like a copy of the Lucid Air. It just looks weird.
Umhmm that’s exactly what I was thinking
I love the back on the ZDX. The Crosstour was just a complete design language fail 😂
The combination of Sedan, SUV and Coupe attributes is certainly very unique.
This is so very true Timothy!
This is so good. Love this design, I feel like they should've done this long ago. Well better now than never, praying it comes to Australia down under 😭🙏
It’s alright in my opinion. I’m still sad they discontinued the Avalon. I love Avalons and even own a 2018 Avalon Limited. It’s great car, so quiet, comfortable and luxurious. I’m sure they will bring it back later. It’s too good to let go.
Avalon was a nice, safe bet. It was also boring. This unit has pizzazz!
I know it's a subjective thing but the Avalon is mad ugly
@@docholliday7548 I agree. It lacks quite a few features. But mechanically speaking, it is amazing. I am a manager at a repair facility and every Avalon we got was just for basic service like oil change and minor stuff like that. I am yet to see an Avalon with a bad engine. This of course does not include accidents. Trust me when I say this. I’ve seen 2021 car have bad engines and need an engine swap.
@@Otto_von_Chesterfield Lmao it sure is subjective. But, I personally like that it’s a long and big sedan. It’s not my dream car of course but it’s a pretty good daily driver.
@@docholliday7548 yup, i rented several avalons and they were suuuper boring.

The red and black on this Crown looks amazing! I'm not disappointed that the Avalon will RIP soon. Toyota did an incredible job with the Crown's design! Great job, Joe! It looks amazing.
Nicely done Toyota! I like that they went to flat black around the wheel wells. Too much high gloss black could start to cheapen the overall appearance. Thanks for a great presentation, you really covered a lot of great points of both the interior and exterior of the Crown!
I think top trims should ALWAYS be body color matched, makes it feel that much classier when you spend that extra money for the top trim.
the styling seems a bit immature, these two toned colors seem better for corollas or corolla crosses
1st in person unveiling. Well earned Joe & Lori! Loving the design and looking forward to the test drive.
Stay tuned because I will be bringing it to you soon!
This car was sooo unexpected, but I'm kinda digging it. Great review Joe
I know how you feel!
Me too. I want!
Toyota is doing a lot of unexpected things
This vehicle interests me greatly! I love that Toyota is doing something different here with a cross between a sedan and a SUV. And while the black and red is nice, I would prefer the two tone be black and a nice gunmetal grey. What do you think?
I was thinking the same thing A dark grey and black and I'm sold. This is one bad car. I can't wait until it comes out
I think it is the ugliest car Toyota has ever produced. I love my Avalon and was so disappointed when they d/c it.
Where are located the battery 🔋? I did not see in the car 🚗??
Absolute beauty!! I will seriously be considering the Platinum Crown, just waiting on official price release but HOLY SMOKES, what a fabulous vehicle! Awesome job as always Joe and Lori!!
Overall Im liking the Crown. Kind of on the fence about the two-tone paint. I hope Toyota finally has power fold in side mirrors!!!
They do...it's called a Lexus haha I have them on my 05 Lexus LS430 😂
Good news is you can get it in a solid color.
@@ImRiickJamesBiish nicely done
Yeah, not sure about the two-tone paint either. Good to hear, from Joe's comment below, you can do a solid color. But liking the Crown
All Crowns do that. They actually have a lot more cooler features than this has
Love listening to Raiti he makes me chuckle every time. He definitely has charisma
The head of the design team at Toyota had bills to pay when he made this one 🔥🔥
I love the way that you put that!
If this comes as plug in hybrid with 100km range with fast charging like Mercedes C class, it would sell like really well
Very cool revival for Toyota's linup.
I still prefer the crown, it has a more radical look but the interior amenities look much better than the corolla for the price
Wouldn't call it a revival. Crown has always been sold in different parts of the world , just not in the US.
@@Shiinamusiclyricssubs I absolutely agree about the interior. If you're going for looks and don't need the extra storage space, I'd be there with ya and grab the Crown, but I do need the space and I also appreciate the higher ride height.
I think the Crown, particularly this Platinum trim, will cost a good bit more than a Corolla Cross XSE. The price will not be similar.
Nice! Glad they’re bringing the Crown to the US!
Finally! A car with a different design that's not electric.
It does have a little electrification 😉
Joe is killing it with the content - pumping out new and interesting material daily, and doing it an objective way that doesn't make it seem like he is a brand shill.
@Raiti's Rides and @Alex on Autos are probably the most informative and objective youtube channels (at least on this side of the Pacific), and @Throttle House is the most entertaining. Hoping to see some collaborations in the future.
Thank you for you awesome support! I agree that would be cool on the future!
Great to see the Crown finally making it to the US
I really like the design of this car. Gloss black fender would've been great with the gloss black hood, mirror caps and rear end. They should've added some exhaust tips too
I agree with you 100% all the way!
I've watched you glow up Raiti. Idk if you remember me but we've had a few interactions in the comments since you started your career and I always knew you'd make it big. Congrats!
This Man could sell icicles to eskimos , But my first impression... haven’t ever really considered a foreign vehicle but this could be a contender if it comes in awd and its priced within a reasonable range , I was also looking for fog lights and would have liked to see more rear lighting other than just that Strip in the back , But still my 1st choice if Stallantis stops procrastinating and brings that baby Ram/Dakota to production
I was not expecting this car to be so striking! Well done, Toyota, and great preview, Joe! This was really cool to see.
“Now I hope you’re ready for another 12”, because there’s that digital display” 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Finally a nicer feeling car from Toyota. Was getting pretty tired of them riding on their reliability card and giving us shitty/boring interiors.
Toyota stop doing that well before this car. This comment was not needed
@@Toyota4Life let me guess, you've been driving Toyota all your life. Like, for 88 years. It was definitely time for Toyota to step up. Bland and boring no longer cuts it.

I could recommend a toyota century
@@Real_British they don’t know all that
toyota never stopped making the crown. they were just not made for the U.S. This car is nice but it doesn't say crown to me.
The Toyota century is the chauffeur driven one.
We are so glad to bring it to you! It’s a very interesting concept!
This is absolutely different car in comparison with previous generations, it looks like Honda Crosstour, which was made specially for American market
You are so very right about that!
Looks nothing like it!!..go to the eye doctor
I just love how animated and detailed you are Joe!! This is a beautiful vehicle AND like you said, if you stuck in the middle between wanting a car and a SUV -- this looks to fill that gap! Brilliant idea on Toyota's part!! Kudos to them. I like it!! And given Toyota's reliability and the car is one good looking vehicle, I would definitely give it a try!! What a nice car! I’m surprised Toyota can design a car like this.
I know right!
It’s like the Avalon and the Venza had a baby together. Jokes aside, I’m excited for this car. Loving the powertrains and all wheel drive. Will definitely test drive it once it’s more available.
It's more like they took the Nissan Maxima design.
@@andref9663 totally agree. I also get Maxma vibes on the side profiles
😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒
Agreed. A hatchback is more versatile.
Amazing looking vehicle. Bodywise it reminds me of the Honda Crosstour. Perhaps not as big? I would like the wheelwells painted the body color. Other than that a beauty. Thanks for the introduction Joe.
You are so very welcome!
That grill is huge. Imagine the bug carcasses on that one.
im excited about this coming to western market its a nice car BUT i cant help but feel upset because there is no crown badge on the front and steering wheel as usual im hoping for options to change that im still hoping that they bring the previous sedan version here too i love it

Who cares about badges? Are you one of those kids that glue on hood scoops and has butterfly 🦋 tattoos?
@@smack9x the crown badge is symbolic. It has history behind it. As a kid, we had a crown, and it was a marvelous car, the badge is a symbol of history, and luxury.
I fit the weird demographic of needing more cargo space but prefer a car. This seems like a winner for me. I still have so many questions about the cargo and the powertrain but based on this review Im fully intrigued. I love the power numbers and I would definitely like to know more.
Very cool new vehicle from Toyota thanks for the content Joe and Lori.
I really didn’t expect Toyota to replace the Avalon with the Crown. I do like it, it looks great! I was hoping for the Toyota MarkX. But this will do. So the next Gen Camry will have this design language I hope.

Good news is you don’t have to get it 2-tone!
I wonder if I can get it in five tone.
Thanks for the review. I wish you could have shown yourself getting in and out of the

As an owner of 2007 JDM Crown Royal Saloon G, I must say I wouldn’t trade my crown with any BMW, Mercedes or Audi of similar production year

Wow, nice car. Acura/Honda are really going to have to bring up there game to start competing with these hybrid Toyota's. Is it nicer than the CRV Hybrid? Looks like it? Love to see a video with your opinion comparing what you've seen.
Looks amazing but I’m interested in pricing. I can see this costing 70k at dealers with their mark ups. Maybe 55k MSRP.
Another awesome review Joe. Wow, you are getting close to 1 million subs!!

I’m so glad that I could share it with you!
Honestly your reviews are top notch now starting to watch your videos more than doug demuro keep it up
Awesome car and review! Never thought a Toyota could look this good, wow
Tell me about it! Thanks fir watching Michael!
He says to look at the pricing of the Avalon and go slighty upwards from there. The 2022 Avalon is around $49k so this could easily be $55-$60k.
Thank you for bringing this review Joe. I was intrigued to see what this vehicle was and it’s definitely killer. I love the looks of it and the interior is simple and clean. It’s luxurious without being too fancy and overdone. I think Toyota did a great job with this
Nice job! So well presented. Hard workin' dude. The car is attractive. Looks promising. Thanks.
I wonder if the JDM crown is different from this.
The top center front of the car looks like a Honda Accord and civic
