How about a "My least favorite food challenge" or "Ben's least favorite food challenge". Whoever makes Ben's least favorite food tastiest to him gets the brownie point.
I won't lie, while they all look really good, Mike's is the only one that I can remember actually making a bechamel, and having it be properly about the sauce.
I find that really boring though. IMHO, battle are about the lads showing off what they can do and what crazy stuff can come out of the theme. Mike's is a really classic, but ultimately uninventive dish.
I didn't feel like I really needed it for the first part-- "I buttered my rammekins, sugared them", etc. It was the part that started with "rachel" that threw me off, lol.
It's nice to see James wander thru once in a while. That way you know things can't go too far off the rails and they all won't just end up throwing food at each other.
I’ve been playing the battles on my phone while taking care of my 6mo daughter. When mine started screaming at the soufflé my daughter started giggling! It was so cute!
I have never seen a judging get this serious hahaha Barry was definitely a little offended To me Mike's looked absolutely delicious and made the most sense in this battle, tbh You guys should definitely do an Indian food week! And one where you do recipes only on single induction cooktops (I know that's really specific but I'm a college student haha)
They always ruin Indian food. It’s so cringe I never watch their recipes ): Sorry +SortedFood I love you guys But you never do Indian food justice. You just add Garam masala and cloves 🙄
I think Barry got offended because Ben basically when Barry 3rd, mike and Jamie joint 1st. I don’t think they ruin Indian dishes they just do more unique dishes and put their tastes and experience into it so it is mike suited to them as opposed to just copying a standard recipe.
Love this! Can you guys do a week on awkward allergies- I am allergic to egg and gluten which creates so many problems! You always seem to create the best recipes!
You need a theme?! Herb-Week! Then we will finally see the wheelbarrow again :D Or let's go for Fish-Week! Or right now in autumn you could make Game-Week! Close to Christmas make a Gift-Week! Everybody has to make a Food-Gift! So many things you could do!
Ok, so Vol-au-Vent is one of my absolute favourite dishes. But I have to give this one to Barry! Making a soufflé is so darn hard, and it was so creative of him to think of making that in a sauce battle and it was the most well presented dish of the three. I feel like he deserved a win.
Mike for the win! Mushrooms and bechamel are the best:) Also, I would love to see some tailgating recipes! Its American Football season - and it would be cool if you guys did a week for that.
I love so much about this show. I'm a professional personal chef, but I make heavy metal music on the side. So I'm realizing, already several hundred episodes and a sub in, that I really love that you use heavy metal instrumentals quite a bit! Even occasionally in the sexies! Keeping my art alive, even with commercial success. From whoever you license music from and me, you rock.
How about a Gourd theme? It is Halloween and thanksgiving seasons in the US but there are many more winter squash with both savory and sweet applications.
Hey Sorted love your show! You've done sooo many themes it was hard to think but since you're asking for ideas how about: - each member makes one of the members favorite meal, member has to pick the best without knowing who made it? -tasting "odd" combination of desert and main dish like gravey on cake or icecream on curry? - getting a meal from a local restaurant/store then recreating the dish and the guys need to judge which one is bought and which one is homemade? - trying to recreate a favorite meal without a recipe? -everyweek fans write in one ingredient, you guys then put it into a box where each one of you randomly pulls out 3 ingredients and you have to make a dish from the random ingredients you pulled out? -meals/snacks for pets (if you do this, please do cats to)? -trying to make a meal with only one hand? - having a bizarre/unusual food segment? - Ben and James try to make a recipe that is hard for them to get right? - making a meal from the smell of ingredients? (Like smelling each ingredient, trying to pair the ingredients and seeing if it taste as good as it smells)
A carrot battle? Not the smoking gun of best ideas, but maybe that's why you should do it. If anyone can make a carrot mouthwatering and genuinely appealing then they deserve an actual brownie.
Braised carrots. Don't peel them: just cut them in half, throw them in a pan with some butter, sprinkle salt and pepper over them, and then add enough stock to cover them. Let it all boil until the stock is pretty much gone, adding more if the carrots aren't soft enough. Super delicious.
This really feels like a classic ultimate battle. Barry's making something sweet, Jamie's making steak, and Mike is doing something kind of standard, but still amazing-looking! I'm pleased haha
Notice at how great that blue rope looks. What a great idea and investment it was for the battle videos! The boxing ring idea was brilliant. The subtle but totally there rope just brings this video a level up. **looks around** what? No, I’m not being forced to say this. There’s not a knife behind me. What are you talking about, silly goose.... ehem.
No, sadly, all healthy food that is good for you has the caloric value of cardboard, and the taste as well. With the exception of fresh fruits and veggies, just slayed down on some roasted zucchini, followed up by fresh watermelon slices with a bit of salt. Good, fresh, delicious, succulent, but paled in comparison with the mustard sauced 4 pounds of pulled pork I had before it. The pork was exquisite.
Mmmmmm porcini & thyme in the bechamel! Well done Mike and forget what they said about vol au vents, they are incredibly versatile, light, crispy & delicious. Mike I made your recipe right after watching the video & it came out great! Y'all were mean to scream at Barry's soufflé. A good soufflé is amazing. Barry, you made an awesome souffle that held up even though they all tried to mess it up. Bravo, Barry, Barry! I'm going to make it next weekend. As for Jamie, could you be more predictable? Steak. Pizza. I knew exactly what ingredients you were going to use before you said them. Ben, really? Unique? Pizza w/steak. A lot of folks put chimichurri on pizzas in the U.S., Jamie's bechamel was an afterthought. Mike's & Barry's were unique. Jamie change the record & try something new.
I know you guys use citrus a lot, but I'd love to see a citrus week where you feature some maybe lesser-used citrus like blood orange, buddha's hand, kaffir lime, pomelo, or yuzu (plus many others)
Bouchées à la reine are an absolute Christmas favourite in my family ! It's so perfectly succulent and I'm delighted Mike made it 😍 French perfection hehe 🇫🇷❤
I think that Ben was way wrong for Barry in particular. He didn’t use a lot of rose water because rose water is incredibly strong. He did the wright thing having it be subtle. Mikes looked tasty but there was nothing unique about it and he didn’t make his dough. Jamie was more original but it’s still a pizza. Barry thought outside the box, he showed skill, he deserved the brownie point over Mike.
I'm not sure why but I have consistently liked the look of mikes recipes more than the others for weeks now. Don't know why. But the others look great too!
I would love to see a Video with tasty and easy to go lunches and breakfasts! I never know what to take to work and I end up going for the same over and over again: Overnight oats for breakfasts and some kind of bagel for lunch. Who has the same problem?!
Sometimes I think Jamie, Mike, and Barry only cook so they can make a mess and mess with each other. I think it's a great combo- I get to learn and laugh at the same time! :)
Slow Cooker Week or Casserole/Stew Week. Getting to the time of year where some good hearty recipes would be nice! Or ways to use your slow cooker that are not stews/casseroles! Kids Fun WeekWays to make meals look appealing and fun to kids! Potato Week! Quiche Week! Soup Week! Toast Week! Cake Week! Biscuit Week!
Themes: milk, legumes, kids food, fair foods, foods in nature (berries, herbs, bark, etc.) experimenting with periodic table elements (potassium, oxygen, etc.), foods that are meant to spark several senses all at once (sight, sound, taste, touch, smell), reverse food challenge; use sweet as savory and savory as sweet (example: thyme savory waffles or chocolate chicken.) Do any of these help?
Perhaps an allergen friendly week? Like some dairy-free, gluten-free, whatever-free etc. Finding delicious recipes with a food allergy is hard sometimes. 😭😭
Just burst out laughing at you guys screaming at a souffle. Guess this is another channel I can't watch while I can't sleep but my partner can... well... was... *giggle*
I usually understand Barry perfectly fine and get confused only while reading the subtitles lmao! My vote is for Mike this time, I absolutely love mushrooms and I feel like his dish incorporated the bechamel the best, keeping it as the focal point while still making it unique.
sauce week was fun, but i'm personally not a fan of bechamel. jamie's pizza looked fantastic though!!! also, i'd love to see you guys attempt a pickled/cured food ultimate battle! there's so much amazing stuff out there, like southeast asian achar, vietnamese do chua, even cured meats like corned beef or japanese miso-cured salmon!
Suggestions for future themes: Another country, I'm from Holland and we have some great autumn/winter dishes that are not well known (Stampot - loads of variations and Vlaai, stoofpeertjes, speculaas) Or do something with a less know spice or spice mix, such as speculaas XD. Or do something with an environmental theme, about food waste, recipes that show how to use/preserve the most commonly discarded items. Tips on how to shop so that you don't overbuy, there's loads of stuff. I hope one of these ideas at least sounds great.
Barry made a souffle, half the jokes on this channel are that the three arent great at cooking. the fact that he pulled it off to me means he should have won
How about a "My least favorite food challenge" or "Ben's least favorite food challenge". Whoever makes Ben's least favorite food tastiest to him gets the brownie point.
L A great idea!
this sounds really fun!!
L A omg yes!
quiche battle!
Isn't it like pickled herrings or something?
The “Barry Mumble Translator” is epic. I absolutely love it. Howl with laughter. 🤣❤️
I won't lie, while they all look really good, Mike's is the only one that I can remember actually making a bechamel, and having it be properly about the sauce.
Mikes definitely had a more prominent use of the sauce, but the way Jamie paired the sauce was the reason i feel he deserved a brownie point :)
I find that really boring though. IMHO, battle are about the lads showing off what they can do and what crazy stuff can come out of the theme. Mike's is a really classic, but ultimately uninventive dish.
@John Doe well, he's right. Bechamel is much more liquid than that.
I think I developed abs from laughing so hard when the boys started screaming at Barry's souffle
I got dehydrated while crying with laughter when they started... Needed a drink...
My flatmates came into the room worried for me!
The first one scared me
really ? that wasn't funny at all , it was just annoying
first name well, with a name like yours I’m sure you’re just full of fun.
Thanks for the Barry translator!
Yes! I finally understand what it feels like to anyone else who does not understand when Barry mumbles.
I didn't feel like I really needed it for the first part-- "I buttered my rammekins, sugared them", etc. It was the part that started with "rachel" that threw me off, lol.
I'm not sure what to make of it... I understood every word he said with needing the subs... And I'm from the States!😅
@KickyFut using the States as a marker for understanding properly spoken English is a bit far fetched, isn't it? 😊
It's nice to see James wander thru once in a while. That way you know things can't go too far off the rails and they all won't just end up throwing food at each other.
"JANICE WOULDN'T LET ME." I LOVE THAT THIS HAS BECOME A THING.
I’ve been playing the battles on my phone while taking care of my 6mo daughter. When mine started screaming at the soufflé my daughter started giggling! It was so cute!
I have never seen a judging get this serious hahaha Barry was definitely a little offended
To me Mike's looked absolutely delicious and made the most sense in this battle, tbh
You guys should definitely do an Indian food week! And one where you do recipes only on single induction cooktops (I know that's really specific but I'm a college student haha)
This is a really good idea!
Yes to Indian week. But to make it a little more interesting, traditional Indian, not Colonial Indian.
They always ruin Indian food.
It’s so cringe I never watch their recipes ):
Sorry +SortedFood
I love you guys
But you never do Indian food justice.
You just add Garam masala and cloves 🙄
Wrong. They've used loads of other ingredients in their indian recipes.
I think Barry got offended because Ben basically when Barry 3rd, mike and Jamie joint 1st. I don’t think they ruin Indian dishes they just do more unique dishes and put their tastes and experience into it so it is mike suited to them as opposed to just copying a standard recipe.
Do a flower challenge. I'd really like to see some creative culinary uses for flowers. And not just the obvious ones like rose and lavender.
Yes! Random draw of rare eddible flowers (checked by Ben and James). Each normal must articulate their particular drawn flower.
In order of who most recently bought their s/o flowers to least recent.
"Poshest pukka pie I've ever had" - Barry
Hahaha! I literally laughed out loud.
red is definitely barry's color!
And Bens! Red shorts! ♡
It is the beggining of autumn - why not root week? There is so many root vegetables that you can show off.
TheGorox7 Does root not have the same connotations there as here?... #talkaboutinnuendo
I find it so funny that Barry and Jamie are organised and are totally like 'game on' and then there's Mike burning milk and looking lost as hell
Id like to see you all do a battle where you cook you favorite dish your mom used to cook for you?
Nostalgia Week
Mom vs Mom vs Mom
I seriously felt for Mike watching everyone else eat the food & he couldn’t 😭 Maybe do a week on carbohydrate alternatives? Tropical fruit week?
I think poor student should be a theme.. for example.. making a meal on a seriously tight budget
Which should also mean minimal waste and healthy enough to be a midweek meal
chicken ramen pack+dark meat chicken(cheaper than breast)+an egg how you like it.
try thier backcatalog like first video basically student budget in all videos cause thats what they were students
Love this! Can you guys do a week on awkward allergies- I am allergic to egg and gluten which creates so many problems! You always seem to create the best recipes!
You need a theme?! Herb-Week! Then we will finally see the wheelbarrow again :D
Or let's go for Fish-Week! Or right now in autumn you could make Game-Week! Close to Christmas make a Gift-Week! Everybody has to make a Food-Gift! So many things you could do!
I love the Gift week theme, double thumbs up
Ok, so Vol-au-Vent is one of my absolute favourite dishes. But I have to give this one to Barry! Making a soufflé is so darn hard, and it was so creative of him to think of making that in a sauce battle and it was the most well presented dish of the three. I feel like he deserved a win.
Completely agree
Ben: make a bechamel sauce
Barry: *makes a souffle*
Bravo Barry
Mike for the win! Mushrooms and bechamel are the best:) Also, I would love to see some tailgating recipes! Its American Football season - and it would be cool if you guys did a week for that.
Shellfish week. Shrimp, crayfish, crab, lobster, mussles, oysters. Get on it.
From whoever you license music from and me, you rock.
been with sorted for ages, i'm very proud of myself that i can understand everything barry mumbled in any episode without needing any subtitles XD
Barry's dish was honestly astoundingly beautiful :O
Wine week! You can use it as an ingredient and also to pair it in the ultimate battle. Same goes with beer.
70's buffet or not, mike's dish gets my vote too!
IABSOLUTELYLOVEDBARRY'SSOUFFLE... WHOEVERDEVELOPEDTHATISAGENIUS!!!!!!
Ammu Parvathy James
How about a Gourd theme? It is Halloween and thanksgiving seasons in the US but there are many more winter squash with both savory and sweet applications.
Dammit, Janice. Let Mike live!
Dustin DuFort Petty who is Janice?
who is Janice?!!?!?!?!
10:24 gf maybe?
SAJaanjanu fitness instructor!! he mentioned in the ultimate sundae video :)
Ahaha, I was like WHY ISNT MIKE EATING! And then he was like "Janice won't let me" Ahahah
It was unfair for Barry. He deserved a brownie point!
You should do a "One Pot" week. Love the content guys! :)
Hey Sorted love your show! You've done sooo many themes it was hard to think but since you're asking for ideas how about:
- each member makes one of the members favorite meal, member has to pick the best without knowing who made it?
Thanks for taking the time to think... some great ideas.
Almost died when I saw Barry's subtitles! lol
I'm not sure why but I have consistently liked the look of mikes recipes more than the others for weeks now. Don't know why
A carrot battle? Not the smoking gun of best ideas, but maybe that's why you should do it. If anyone can make a carrot mouthwatering and genuinely appealing then they deserve an actual brownie.
L A three words: fried. In. Butter.
Carrots are great sweet too!!
Pickled carrots 👌👌 but I like to eat them raw too still nice and sweet 💕
Roasted Carrots ;-)
Braised carrots. Don't peel them: just cut them in half, throw them in a pan with some butter, sprinkle salt and pepper over them, and then add enough stock to cover them. Let it all boil until the stock is pretty much gone, adding more if the carrots aren't soft enough. Super delicious.
This really feels like a classic ultimate battle. Barry's making something sweet, Jamie's making steak, and Mike is doing something kind of standard, but still amazing-looking! I'm pleased haha
How about a canned food battle! Where you guys pick the grossest canned food you can find and try to make it taste better.
Like canned chicken!
New idea.... Fast food (levelled up) Battle!! ... also Barry's reaction, brilliant LOL!
I've just noticed 99% of Jamie's battle dishes involve a cow
Notice at how great that blue rope looks. What a great idea and investment it was for the battle videos! The boxing ring idea was brilliant. The subtle but totally there rope just brings this video a level up.
**looks around** what? No, I’m not being forced to say this. There’s not a knife behind me. What are you talking about, silly goose.... ehem.
mike seemed a bit out of it during the video. was he okay lol
All your hard work sure pays off for your fans. I always enjoy your videos, thank you.
Can you do a ‘Healthy food battle’ for us who are trying to keep/become healthy
Yeah!! Also so Mike can eat things without having to lie to Janice :P.

I know you guys use citrus a lot, but I'd love to see a citrus week where you feature some maybe lesser-used citrus like blood orange, buddha's hand, kaffir lime, pomelo, or yuzu (plus many others)
Kumquars would be interesting.
Mike's was the best. Love this channel!!
I should be studying for an exam but here I am
Cristina good luck!
You are learning real skills here! Like how to sabotage your friends when cooking :)
yes, same! 👐
same😂
same girl
I could watch your channel all day every day. I'm new here but this is awesome. Thanks guys!
In all honesty if you shock Barry, Jamie, and Mike again I'd be content with just that.
By far the funniest Ultimate BATTLE. When the screaming started I was crying.
Take-away week? Re creating favourites at home maybe with your own twists. Plus would be a good idea for a battle.
I love how the filmmakers the people in the back make it look like everything was done at the same time that's my favorite.
Seriously? Barry totally deserved a brownie point for originality! I don't think anyone would think to make a soufflé in a sauce battle!
Bouchées à la reine are an absolute Christmas favourite in my family ! It's so perfectly succulent and I'm delighted Mike made it 😍
French perfection hehe 🇫🇷❤
That’s a bit harsh on Barry. One extra teaspoon or one less word might have gotten him the brownie point.
My vote is for Barry and Mike. Loved both those ideas.
Sometimes I think the fact that Barry hasn't snapped and hit anyone with a couch in a fit of rage is astounding.
Good theme.
Great video.
I don't wanna choose a winner, you were all great.
How about a diabetes friendly week! Because that would be amazing!
My dog perked up when you guys were squawking at the soufflé lol
As always Mike looks good, but even more so in this...
I have been waiting for this all day. It's 11:20pm in Australia right now.
I wanna try Mike's a lot
Mike screaming is my life and soul, indeed, the blessing when I pray
Tried Jamie's chimichurri sauce and it tastes sooo good. I did replace it with fresh super hot chillies (got a spicier palette 😂). Well done boys!
You guys should have an outdoors week... camp cooking, Dutch ovens, maybe a survival food battle?
I think that Ben was way wrong for Barry in particular. He didn’t use a lot of rose water because rose water is incredibly strong. He did the wright thing having it be subtle. Mikes looked tasty but there was nothing unique about it and he didn’t make his dough. Jamie was more original but it’s still a pizza. Barry thought outside the box, he showed skill, he deserved the brownie point over Mike.
Fair point... and that's why we love to hear what you guys have to say!
In a bechemel sauce contest he made a soufflé, which while is technically impressive has wandered pretty far from the brief.
Saucy is my thing, if it's got it, I'm eating it!! Yum!!!
Damn it now I want pizza
Sometimes I think Jamie, Mike, and Barry only cook so they can make a mess and mess with each other. I think it's a great combo- I get to learn and laugh at the same time! :)
Winter is comming so how about preserving food for the winter! =)
Barry! Screw those brownie points! Your unintentional comics are downright epic! 😁
That's a triple draw fro me. Vol au vent for appetizer, pizza for main course and soufflé for dessert.... or maybe i'm just hungry.
All in on the pizza with chimichurry :D
Mike should win this one. That looks really really appetizing..
Themes: milk, legumes, kids food, fair foods, foods in nature (berries, herbs, bark, etc.) experimenting with periodic table elements (potassium, oxygen, etc.), foods that are meant to spark several senses all at once (sight, sound, taste, touch, smell), reverse food challenge; use sweet as savory and savory as sweet (example: thyme savory waffles or chocolate chicken.)
Do any of these help?
I thought we'd stumbled upon a herd of those screaming goats when Barry took the souffle out of the oven 😄
Perhaps an allergen friendly week? Like some dairy-free, gluten-free, whatever-free etc. Finding delicious recipes with a food allergy is hard sometimes. 😭😭
Just burst out laughing at you guys screaming at a souffle. Guess this is another channel I can't watch while I can't sleep but my partner can... well... was... *giggle*
You should do another Halloween week for sure!
Mike screaming bloody murder at the soufflé is a mOOD
A low carb week would be pretty cool, cooing with almond flour and using weird substitutes
PigStarz yessss omg pls do this
I usually understand Barry perfectly fine and get confused only while reading the subtitles lmao!
My vote is for Mike this time, I absolutely love mushrooms and I feel like his dish incorporated the bechamel the best, keeping it as the focal point while still making it unique.
Barry looks a little like Fry from Futurama in that outfit ... :D
i hope i wasn't the only one crying 1. when Mike opened the oven, and 2. when they were screaming at Barry's souffle xDDD
How about soup week?
Barry's souffle needs way more credit for just working
Is no one going to mention that Mike can't eat pizza because of some person named Janice? I think we need answers... #PizzaForMike
I'm assuming he has a vegan girlfriend named Janice.
Janice, as someone mentioned above, is his personal trainer.
sauce week was fun, but i'm personally not a fan of bechamel. jamie's pizza looked fantastic though!!! also, i'd love to see you guys attempt a pickled/cured food ultimate battle! there's so much amazing stuff out there, like southeast asian achar, vietnamese do chua, even cured meats like corned beef or japanese miso-cured salmon!
Loved Mike's dish! Also, a vegan week would be absolutely amazing!
That intense rock with Béchamel is everything.
Ultimate kid battle next? Kid friendly recipes all week and then they must cook for kids not knowing their preferences
George Hughes souffles are incredibly easy, so I think breads and doughs would be just as hard
I should be marking my student's scripts, but here I am. And it must have been torturous for Mike to just stand there and watch them eat. Haha!
